I thought it was really sweet that even though some things definitely aren't your taste you weren't being overly critical and rude about it. I hate when I watch these sort of videos and people are mocking the previous owner's taste. It always make me a little uncomfortable, like that was someone's home 🥴
I would do a open floor plan for the down stairs. Open it all up living room, dining and kitchen

Absolutely agree .. and then paint doors glossy white with timber flooring all the same throughout and it will look massive and light and bright. The outdoor area where he kept the dogs can be transformed into a beautiful garden centred with a lounge area fire pit etc for relaxing. Congratulations guys you have bought a great house with huge potential. That barbecue hut is amazing wow what a great add on to the house. How wonderful for entertaining. So so exciting can’t wait to come along on this journey with you. xx

I personally think that's a bad idea, just my opinion as I do have an open plan living room and kitchen, it always looks cluttered,doesn't look as cozy as I imagined it would and just isn't convenient when trying to cook and the tv is on. Thats just my personal opinion

I would put a kitchen in that massive living room along with island, the. Sofa by the log burner.. kinda like Meggan Grubbs house😍 then pull the old kitchen out and have that room as a cosy living space as well! X
It’s beaut small tip we have a log burner I wanted the tv above when the electrician came round he said no as the wall where the flu is gets warm you don’t want your tele getting hot he said I never thought before 😂 can’t wait to see the decorating! xxx
My recommendation would be to remove downstairs toilet and utility area and move them into the garage. You could do a fabulous utility and small toilet out there and change the garage door into a window and wall potentially. Also a tip for a utility have your washing machine and dryer up at your arm height so you aren't bending down all the time.
Id knock the wall in your bathroom through to the kitchen and the opposite front room. Big open kitchen and the current utitlity could be a dining area/sofa area in the kitchen. Be amazing.
But would just repaint the kitchen units for now if you can't do a big refurbishment because it would be a terrible waste of your money to do a new kitchen and in a few years extend it again. Fabulous house with amazing potential congratulations.

It’s really simple and easy if you get a decent mortgage adviser. Took us 8 weeks start to finish x
@@steff6682 what does a mortgage advisor do? Sorry if that's a silly question 🙈 x
Ash Bell they help you essentially get the best deal, do all the paperwork, you need a broker/adviser to be able to get a house it’s nearly impossible without one as they are the people who work out if you can afford a mortgage or not before you do to a bank. If you don’t one you will massively struggle seriously. They do all the ringing to estate agents, solicitors, bank and so on and keep the ball rolling x
Basically if you don’t get one you’re making the process so so much more stressful and hard work than it has to be. They don’t cost much honestly. Around the £100 mark so worth every penny.
It’s definately a commitment we just paid our home off took 24 yrs

I would put the dining table in the living room. That way, when you are eating your food, you can look out onto the garden. Plus a table wont block the view of your garden from the sofa 😊

If this is your forever home I see you changing the big living room at the back into a lovely huge open plan kitchen with a big island and a snug at the back where the log burner is. You could even knock through into the current kitchen and have a lush open plan kitchen, dinning area and snug in one. Just my preference but it has huge potential! Xxx
Try out “dream doors” they reface kitchens putting replacement doors & worktops on keeping the inside cabinets the same (keeping cost and time down)

I would definitely have the guest bedroom as a master bedroom, the layout looks a lot better and it kind of looks bigger and like it has more space as it’s squared as opposed to rectangular xo

You must live local to me as I know the places you go to but we ALSO had a nightmare buying. 4 separate houses fell through, my hubby lost his job. It was a PROCESS! But maybe ppl round our way just change their minds alot hahaha 😜

Absolutely love this 😍 Think we all need a BBQ hut! It reminded me of the tree house you went to stay in. Didn't expect a bbq! 🤪 Also, you mentioned DIY'ing your kitchen cupboards. The best paint for that is Frenchic paint. You can paint anything with it, honestly, it's the best paint on the market for kitchen cupboards. It's amazing for front doors too! Internal doors & woodwork... Even flooring! It's an all round paint. The list is endless what you can paint with it. Basically if it stands still, paint it. 😜 Can't wait to see more videos on your progress with it. Xx

The hut is a duplicate of Lapland! They have those huts with the reindeer skins and they drink berry juice out of the wooden cups! I went the beginning of this year and went in one on an excursion. Your house is beautiful x
Do you mean the Finnish Lapland? Because those huts are really popular in summer cottages here and also in some normal houses too. And not only in the northern part of the country(Lapland). My grandpa has one on his yard.
The reason I’m asking is because although Lapland is a region in Finland it also covers some of Sweden and Norway.
