    Not only is this epic and monumental in the movie, but it does send a message about being bullied. You see it throughout the film in various scenes. If you have the internal strength, fortitude, and confidence, then you can flip the script on them before they can use it against you. You take away whatever power they think they have over you.

    What made this movie so iconic Is it wasn’t the typical “guy rises from the slums and makes it big and successful” he was still living out of a trash bag in a trailer at the end of the movie this was his big moment. It’s like the original “Rocky” Rocky didn’t win and was still in the same neighbourhood…Until the sequels lol

Anthony Mackie said Eminem came to him on set and asked if he'd be cool with him tweeking the info about his character in the script a little bit and then promptly Google'd Mackie and interspersed key points about his life (grew up in a big house, had two loving parents, etc.) into the rap. It has nothing to do with Mackie not being from Michigan, Em just mixed real [general] info about Mackie's life with the character he was playing.
      It took me 5 minutes to find the interview with Anthony Mackie, so it's not exactly hidden information.

    Having Shook Ones as the backing track is a fantastic piece of foreshadowing. Em became slim shady and went on a ridiculous murder spree. As soon as AM realized Em was ripping himself and everyone around him to pieces, he was too shook to even try and formulate a rhyme. Perfect scene

    I encourage anyone who doesn't know to read up about the filming of this scene. Eminem got to know Mackie on set and rewrote this rap to personally roast Mackie, not out of any kind of spite or to actually rag on him, but to get a legit reaction out of Mackie. Mackie got too shook to finish, it was legit, and he tried to get them to reshoot it so he could do his half of the battle but they decided not to because this reaction was way too good.

    I remember back when this movie was played on tv in my country. I didn't know who Eminem was. Later I realized it was em real story. I just kept thinking that the protagonist was so good at acting and the drama so raw. Later I said to myself.. "oh that's slim shady's singer." Golden times.
