India was formed in 1947 after partition, a country is formed when it forms a governing body like monarchy or democracy. let's say the Mughals, Cholas, Magadhi or Delhi sultanate they were governing bodies back in their time but they were governing their own kingdom not the whole country, India didn't even exist as a country back then, the name Hindustan was given by he Persian, the Iranian people called our religion Hindu, Greek and Iranian called our land Indos and Hindos, those who lived to the east of Indus river
