I really enjoyed this as it gave me a fresh mindset. Sometimes when we get bored with our homes all it may need is a good cleanup and decluttering, not buying something new to "fix" the problem. Dust, vacuum, fix the crooked wall art, open the windows, refresh the place. I admit that's what I did after watching this.😃
I do tie back my drapes in the living room every morning, even on overcast days. It usually lets in enough light that I don’t need to turn on lamps.
I also change out the placemats on my table to give it a fresh look. And something I picked up from a friend, buy men’s bandanna handkerchiefs for inexpensive napkins. The size is right and makes the table look festive!
When I see the Dollar Tree DIY’s, I always have to remind myself they do these all the time. Me trying some random craft is going to look just like that… random
My good friend is downsizing and is giving alot of stuff away I always love a picture in living room and just gifted to me so my picture will be donated and my new one is hung I picked up inexpensive small round vase and put on the coffee table living room looks so nice and it cost me 7.00 total thank you for your video
I recently changed my living room space. we purchased an electric fireplace and moved the credenza to the opposite side. Moved a table as well. We also tidy up the bar area.
I started using my "good " china and other fancy items(cake plate) we've had since we were married 36 years ago, because if not now, when. I made a coffee bar which I redo seasonally and it gives me such joy. I don't buy very much, just print out a picture and tie some silk flower stems.
Yes let the sunshine in!!!! Great tips : )
Dont forget what your home smells like. Clean smells great. Using air fresheners doesn't always cover up smells. Things like cat litter needs to be cleaned often! A nice natural smelling candle is always nice. At Christmas I had a balsam that smelled great.i also like a cinnamon, just baked cookie candle. Orange peels and a cinnamon stick can be lovely in a simmer pot. Keep windows clean. Sweep kitchen floors often. Keep top of frig cleaned off and not a storage place. Make sure your kitchen garbage doesn't smell. Empty every day.
You can also have a proactive heart esp when your guests are toddlers, pets, people with special needs like seniors and people like me who always trip over everything. I found simplicity and even dollar stores had an item or two that showed a comfy feeling. 😅
Oooh, LOVE idea #1 ! Why didn't I think of that ?
Fantastic news
Good suggestions. Yes, the Dollar Tree diys can become expensive in their own right. I enjoy thrifting and finding unique/ vintage pieces that are not like everyone else’s. As for the rugs, in my opinion,it really helps dampen echo in large, somewhat empty rooms as well as warming up the atmosphere. Thanks for sharing.
Connie, thank you so much! You are right about rugs also helping with echo! 🤗
Thank you you Jennifer those are great tips , I’ve been trying to decorate our home but everything is so expensive so I really like all the great tips they sure will help with our budget . Have a great day .
These are great helpful common sense tips that could apply to anyone’s taste. Thank you!
I have some artificial lavender in my store room. I’m going to put it in a frame in my bathroom.
I make my bed every morning.
Wonderful Tips & Tricks - Area rugs also help with echoes. They are great as sound dampeners. As for wall art, my rule of thumb is anything 11x14 or smaller should be displayed on a desk, in a wall unit or on shelves. The exception being if you are putting together a Gallery Wall. Otherwise, think 16x20 or larger for actual wall art. Reason being, the viewer is usually standing six feet from the wall. You don't want your art/photo to look like a postage stamp on it.
The weather was warm this afternoon and I opened my bedroom window
These were great tips.
Sound good
Love your cork boards. Very nice.
Excellent video with great ideas, though most of them I already routinely do.
Could you do a video on how you make & recycle candles, using old candles to make new ones. Also, do you add subtle or "clean" fragrances?
Great ideas.
I’ve never moved. That poses problems getting things cleared out.
😊
My husband’s Godmother always said if you don’t have time/money for anything else each day, do the dishes, sweep the floors and make the beds… It makes a BIG difference!
I love that!
Thanks for sharing. I've finally mastered the bed and dishes (after too many years), but the floor sweeping must be the next to conquer! I'm always dealing with kitty litter, and it annoys me too much to ignore!
You should get a roomba! My house has never been this clean @oscarfelix1952
Thanks.
