Also most songs just arent upbeat at all and have more of a dark tone, very long and minimal at times, all things not everyone likes. Yeezus and 808s got just as much hate when they came out, and now 13 years later some of the most popular artists got their sound heavily inspired by 808s (Talking about Juicewrld and ironicly Drake).
Who knows, maybe some artists who really like it will also take it as inspiration (Although it also has very unpopular lyrical themes for rap, but thats another thing it shares with 808s)
