    Lets say someone is getting all in for modern. Would it be smart to go ahead and build the Jund deck? I mean once you have the pricey cards you are set. Its probably one of the fairest modern decks, it seems to always have a place in any metagame, it can compete and it only sees minor changes. I know it is one of the more expensive decks, but I think its the most fun to play.

  • @mrib4135
    @mrib4135 Před 6 lety +4

    Why would you not K-Command the Ravager while your opponent was tapped out if you were worried about poison? You opened the door to counters being moved to Inkmoth by letting you opponent untap. You could have cleared your opponent's board and hand that turn. Am I missing something in M1 G1 T3?

    • @ElvenNoble
      @ElvenNoble Před 6 lety +2

      If you're siding in a naturalize effect, usually by the time you get 4 mana and are able to cast BBE to cascade into it you're going to have a target to cast it on (else you shouldn't be siding it in). However, I would be interested in a case for choosing it since it's an enchantment that helps fuel Goyf (though only if you're facing artifacts, else the thing you're disenchanting fuels that enchantment point for Goyf anyway).

    @NoGeist Před 6 lety

    At 1:18:30, second game against Grixis Control, I was wondering is there an argument to first use the Thoughtseize instead of the Inquisition? Of course, usually Inquisition is used first, but now opponent shocked on turn 1 and passed . That indicates Thought Scour almost certainly, making Tasigur a possible turn 2 play if Inquisition is used. Reid's hand can be punished very hard with a fast clock, so maybe that was worth considering?

I started playing the list and it's nice to have a turn one basic mountain to fetch in game 1 against burn. Even though the matchup is quite unfavoravle,l. In game 2 something like mountain Bolt, into swamp collective brutality is pretty good.

      Jeffrey Penkoff I think that if you stabilize the game with some early removal or artifact hate, huntmaster will win you the game as it makes pressure with tokens and allow you to win some life. It's also a 4/4 trample
      Maybe it's a better option than other main board cards.
      In the other hand, kitchen finks even if it's cmc 3, will gain you 2 life but it can't block almost anything

  • @vitorhugojaccoud3063

    Reid, against bogles you could block with goyf and bbe to kill the first bogle (ethereal armour+rancor). Next turn use terminate to kill dryad arbor and -2 liliana to kill the other bogle. I think this scenario would give you the game. What do you think? Tks.

    • @kazibaker6747
      @kazibaker6747 Před 6 lety +2

      chazy13 _ wouldn't recommend in the future. UW control is a bad deck which people will play because they enjoy it rather than it being good. You can certainly win without mountain, too. It's more of a crutch in the matchup. When you play the mountain, it is the absolute worst card in the deck, not close. Worth noting basic forest and swamp are in the deck because of a) blood moon and b) you're only playing red for like two cards, and incidental raging ravine. If you feel like you are playing against a lot of color hate from the control decks it's important to just hold up a fetch throughout the game for your bloodbraid. They don't pressure you, so the damage is kinda irrelevant, and your bloodbraid smashes them. Bolt sucks outside of exactly Jace against them, too. If you wanna turn on a ravine, they'll kill that before your other red source. Also again, UW just isn't very strong compared to almost every other deck in the current meta, and is more of a call out than anything for specifically humans.

    • @kevinhazenfield6824
      @kevinhazenfield6824 Před 6 lety

      That does make sense, but as of right now I only play two fetchable red sources in a blood crypt and stomping ground. When I play against control decks with spreading seas/field of ruin, and taxes decks, they always go after my red sources which can set me back from casting bloodbraid, k command, Chandra, bolt. My list is someone less optimal, as I only run two bloodbraid with a Chandra and hazoret instead (meta is heavy jund at my lgs, so it makes sense to include them mainboard). Any ways, I think a mountain is better in my deck because I have more need for red mana, but it also wouldn't hurt for other jund decks too imo.
