  • For our first video, we thought we'd do a quick look at the World Museum in Liverpool. This museum is probably our most visited museum, and one of our most visited places in Liverpool.
Over the years, we've spent so much time at this museum together, but we also each visited a lot as children; visiting the Ancient Egypt gallery with her grandparents is one of the reasons Jo studied Egyptian Archaeology at university!
The museum is just a short walk from Liverpool Lime Street station and from Liverpool One, and the city sightseeing buses all stop outside the museum.
We'll definitely have more videos from the museum, but this is just a quick overview of the facilities and permanent exhibitions.
If you want to visit the museum, the opening times and details of any temporary exhibits are available on the museum website:

My wife and I shall soon be visiting Liverpool, so we are busy trying to work out some form of itinerary. We’ll only be there a couple of days so we’ll be a wee bit short of time. We are trying to see which museums or art galleries are the best to visit. If you could only visit two (or possibly three) which would they be ?

Definitely World Museum, and then I'd say the Maritime museum (especially if you can get the Old Docks tour) and the Tate. Though if you like music, I'd drop the Tate in favour of either the British Music Experience or The Beatles Story. The Museum of Liverpool is good, but a lot of it feels as though it's aimed at locals with details about how each town / suburb grew etc.
Would definitely recommend Return of the Gods at the World Museum and the Planetarium.
Hope you have a fabulous visit :)
