Advaita I am listening to Justice Katju. His views have always been left liberal. He has a great superiority complex. On many occasions he has expressed that majority of Indian population is जंगली!! He has been my college mate in 11th &12th class in Allahabad. He is obsessed with the idea of Gandhian and Nehruvian philosophy and considers हिन्दू ideology to be some kind of most inferior ideology .Sadly his family lineage was not like this and were proud Hindus!! Anyway I am not sure whether the views expressed by him will resonate with the ordinary, balanced Indian citizen unless he is also a Nehru ,Gandhi follower!!

    1) Markandeya Katju - Entitled old man too accustomed to privilege. Expected people to respect him because of his past position and age rather than the merit of his arguments
    2) Manali Singhal: Spent half the debate cheerleading for her daughter. Selective in her presentation of facts.
    3) Suhel Seth: Pseudo-moderator. Made politically correct conciliatory noises but didn't contribute anything of substance
    4) Abhijeet Iyer: Spoke from experience (of being incarcerated for sedition) with well-thought out points, though harped too much on police reforms while ignoring other aspects.
    4) Shehzad Poonawala: Made some excellent points throughout the debate supported by facts and examples. The mudslinging match with Katju and Manali didn't help though
5)Advaita Kala: Clearly enjoying her role as the moderator and learnt from the past admonitions of Katju.

Having said that, pessimism from a judicial figure at the twilight of his life and career is a bit disappointing even if understandable - I have never missed a chance to vote since turning 18 and still hope that as our country gains more education en-mass with each passing decade (literacy%) - we can never see the light at the end of the tunnel without traversing through the darkness of a tunnel first 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

It was well articulated debate. Observations and points made by all the speakers except one, were vital and helped in understanding about the law.
During the course of debate Justice Katju a self proclaimed "pessimist" reinstated a fact which is mere age, holding high office doesn't qualify one to be called a "man of wisdom". Rather it's ones attitude and outlook towards things .
Needless to say both are missing frm Justice Katju.

We are a unique country in this world, no other country has so much diversity in behaviour, beliefs, outlook etc therefore we cannot compare our laws and implementation with any other country. Yes most laws which were introduced by the British needs a relook since they were colonisers trying to rule us and now we have self rule. I think it should be debated at forums like this and also in parliament and a law tailored for us should be implemented.
