- Thomas Andrey drove on the last edition of St. Ursanne Hillclimb this beautiful and quite rare Peugeot 405 SuperTourisme unit. Powered by a 2.0L NA unit capable of around 290Hp/9.000Rpm, transmitted to the front wheels and weighing only 945Kg, this 90´s Touring Car still holds its own in spectacular and very fast manner.

a nice peugeot from a nice era..i love a lot of 90ties' cars, and this one is no exception..actually when i was 18yo and got my driving licence peugeot405Mi16 was the car i wanted to buy (and could afford it), i was deeply in love with it;..but then, somehow, i bought a primera P10GT and still have it to this day, for 16years..also a fantastic car, that you never want to get rid of..but still remember of my love for this 405..good old 90ties and best cars...nice to see such cars still rolling on the road.

I wouldn't call 290HP low. It's not high HP but it's respectable.
Idk if that's sarcasm but 290 horsepower in a 2000 pound car, is fast as fuck. Power to weight ratio always wins.

Agreed 290hp from 2 litres is pretty nuts.
For me, having grown up in the super- tourer era. There is no finer sound than a 4 banger screaming at 9k.

Actually it is not. It was a road going mi16 converted. Runs an xu10j4rs(306 gti) but built to supertourismo spec
+tokenDarkMagicianGuy Um,Peugeot competed with 405 before 406 model in Supertouring cjampionship and they built few units.
@@hillclimbracingfan5821 they did. But this is not one of those units. The bumper is wrong for a start. Also its on 16s not 18s or 19s and is using an iron block. The owner of it is a member of the same 405 groups I am.

Trop de turbos, pas assez de vrais moteurs avec de la cylindrée. Mais c'est un peu pareil avec les autres constructeurs, notamment à cause de ces stupides lois "CO 2".

Nope. Peugeot engines in road cars are detuned race engines. 306 maxis were built to rev to 11500rpm

@@thiscocks well, as a french,I can assure you that Vtec isn't bullshit, and that this 405 doesn't sound like a normal/modified Peugeot but rather like a lightly modified b20/k20. Also the rpm matches, that's why I was asking this question. So calm it boy.
Also, stock gasoline Peugeot doesn't rev higher than 6k/7k rpm. I know that 'cause my family owned a 508sw and now a 208.
