- Carrying on from the previous journey. Here we have a cab ride from Thorpe-Le-Soken Junction to Walton-on-the-Naze. Filmed in 2016. Due to a management agreement with the Unions Cab sounds had to be turned off.
There used to be through coaches from Liverpool Street on the Clacton train, and we split at Thorpe with Henry taking the larger portion on to Clacton and Thomas hooked on to the rest for a slow chuff up to Walton. Trains often passed at Frinton, which shows how frequent the service must have been on Summer Saturdays; You also needed to book seats or you would be standing the whole way in packed corridors.
Nice to have well ‘filmed’ cab ride of this branch
Yes indeed!
Lovely job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Didn’t it crash in to the buffers once and the station building was demolished after that?
Did this train stop at frinton.
No it didnt.
What class? Information above is a bit sparse 👍
👍👍👍👍😊😇
I made Ivor the engine noises while watching the video .
Excellent idea.
Was this section always single tracked?
I believe it was double at one point.
Shame there's no sound, but union agreements are just that!
It is frustrating. It annoys a lot of viewers but I would rather share the content than not.
@@RailMart Have you considered using You Tube music as it's royalty free?
Yes I did on a couple of early Videos but that raised even more criticism. no pleasing some folk!
Great to see this beautiful branch line still open it's a tragedy that so many others were closed down.🚆🛤👍👍👍👍🤠
I think its proximity to London ensured that.
@@RailMart Indeed; at the time the main closures were taking place Walton was still a popular holiday destination for people on the East side of London. It has however declined from that time with the station buildings turned into flats and the second platform (on the right behind the railings) into parking for the flats.
