I had this tablet and is amazing, check emails daily, open office docs, such as word, excel, repayments online,watch Prime and Netflix and downloading or downloading the Google play store and CZcams took about two minutes, super easy, additionally this works as an echo show. Very happy with it, only paid a hundred for this tablet.
Since most people use a tablet ect for messaging and watching videos the fire tablet should work for most. It won't be a spectacular experience but suitable. I bought the fire 10.1 and it works fine and when I want something better I use my chromebook that flys on internet.

The old Fire 10 gets about 10x the 3D Mark overall score of my current phone, an LG Stylo 3, so gaming on the new Fire 10 would be that much better in-comparison. Edit: I would recommend installing the Play Store as one of the main apps I use happens to be 2 years out-of-date through the Amazon app store.
I just got my 2019 64GB Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet in white delivered yesterday and I absolutely love it. I only paid $139.99 for it with the $50 off sale for Black Friday. I also have the 64GB 2017 Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet in blue that still looks and works like brand new out of the box. I also have the 2015 Amazon 7 inch Fire tablet in black and the 2017 Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet in blue. Every one of my Amazon Fire tablets still work like brand new and I have never had any trouble with any of them. Now I'm also going to purchase the 32GB 2019 Amazon Fire 7 inch tablet for $50 with the $20 off for the Black Friday sale. As far as I am concerned these tablets are an outstanding value, especially for what you get at these prices.
This is just right for steamlink to play PC games using a KB mouse and controller. I've used tinycore to see how much ram is used when playing red dead at 60 fps max and its very little You can also use ateamlink to control your desktop so have a 10ins 1080p IPS PC that's portable
@@TRlLLS Have not tried streaming yet, but gaming performance is quite ok. I tried WoW Blitz and Real Racing 3 and didn't notice any performance issues. I would wait for it to be on sale though.
got this tablet awhile ago i finally got around to setting it up disabled OTA updates and installed nova launcher and disabled the fire launcher and installed the play store, it is so much better than my 2018 fire HD 8 that crashes and freezes all the time not having to use launcher hijack is a huge plus for some reason Mario kart tour keeps crashing though the benchmark looks promising i cant wait to test out some emulators on this, but then again N64 always ran great on my 2015 fire 7 and this will not handle much higher than N64 emulation this tablet will probably get more use than my ipad since i can sideload movie apk's and since the aspect ratio is way better for viewing movies than the ipad ,but i have to say movies still look great on my 2015 fire 7's

I just bought Samsung Tab A 10.1 (2019) for $152 Yes Fire 10 HD is nice, but Samsung Tab A 2019 is much better in all the following: CPU / GPU / Camera / Body Design / Screen Ratio Vs Body / Device thickness (thin) / speakers quality...etc The only advantage for Fire 10 HD ATM is it's $100 Vs $150, so it's depends on if you wanna pay $100 or $150

I had a psp that would be dead after non use for two weeks a dsi was packed away in a closet for over a year I pulled it out and amazed the dsi was fully charged still
found out that the mediatek 8183 SOC used in the 2019 fire HD 10 is a mediatek Helio P70 with removed GSM functions and NFC. and Helio P70 is actually pretty good for a mid-range smartphone. the only problem is the Mali 720MP3 in the Fire HD 10 2019 cannot handle the 1900x1200 resolution so well :(
I love the last gen Fire HD10's cuz they were so easy to root. It took me a long time to unlock the (Karnak) HD8 and I had to learn Linux to install Lineage-14.1 on it. I know the fellow members of the XDA-Developers forum will crack this new one soon but Amazon has gotten more savvy towards exploits.

I received this new tablet November 6. (I wish I had waited for the price drop). I agree with all the reviews and the good features. IMO there is one really good feature that is not working for many if not all users according to Amazon and it is not revealed in the marketing. It is the send-to-kindle email feature, IMO one of the best features because from select emails you can send pdf's and other docs directly to your Kindle device. I have multiple Fire's so it always comes in handy. Well in the new Fire 10 it works 50%. If you use send to Kindle email, the docs is sent to your Kindle where it shows up in your documents folder; the plus really cool feature for me is that the same doc shows up immediately in the carousel (now called "new items") which is a handy way of filtering new items as well as books. On my device, new books show up under new items but the send-to-kindle docs do not. I spent a while with Amazon customer service and they finally admitted it is a widespread problem and they are working on a fix. It doesn't seem to effect previous models. I was not able to post to the Amazon site. Reinstalling the device does not help. Not a deal breaker.
Just buy it? I've had two Fire HD tabs.....and here's my take: Pros : Price is great. Screen is clear and bright, sound is really good for a cheap tablet (the older 7" version with Dolby was amazing). Cons: and there is a bunch of them! 1. Bloatware : Yep you can spend more to get rid of ads but that is a really shady money-grab. There is a shitload of "Amazon" apps you will rarely, if ever, use and that takes up about 25% (or more) of your internal storage. 2. It makes you jump through a few hoops to get Google Play Store and CZcams to get it working...not hard but a definite fail for new time buyers. Amazon app store is nothing even close to Play Store. 3. Biggest gripe : the WiFi sucks on this thing. Not sure how they flubbed it up, but they did! I constantly lose connection with the Fire, while a five year old Samsung rocks it just fine. That's huge! If you're constantly losing connection, performance means nothing. A "must buy"??? Not at all. I'm tired of the bullshit that Amazon pulls with their tabs. And I'm not talking about build quality or a squeaky flex to the frame. The Fire HD works but doesn't do anything great.....spend another 50 bucks and get a solid Android 9.0 tablet and that pesky "proprietary" Amazon OS fades into obscurity.

I'm watching on mine right now. I really liked my previous Fire 10 but I immediately noticed the improvements in processor, newer system, and the front camera. Not that it's amazing how necessarily, but I did notice the front camera is now pretty useable for video chats. Gaming and streaming both work very well in it.

You must be kidding. I mean, it's ok, but it isn't anything special. I bought a couple of them and gave one away. I got a much better tablet for $95 (Tablet 10 Inch Android 9.0 3G Phone Tablets with 32GB Storage Dual Sim Card 5MP Camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, Quad Core, HD Touchscreen, Support 3G Phone Call (Black)) which is lightweight and does a ton of things quickly and easily without ads. I have the Kindle reader on it so I have everything I could get with a Fire but without the limitations.
The wifi is especially awful - we had 2, and both disconnected every few minutes ( when you tried to load any web page bigger than a few kb), with a strong wifi router nearby in the same room.
It would be great if we COULD actually buy it. Amazon have screwed up their Australian market entry so badly that it simply isn't available, nor are we able to buy it from the USA like we used to. Because apparently we now have our own local store....
Saw it on sale for $72 at Target today and I ordered ! Planning to keep it in my media room for casual browsing/multitasking......Came looking at reviews to see if it was a mistake :D Do you know if we can cast youtube to your TV from this, what about amazon prime video and Netflix.
I bought it and returned it a few days later because the battery is crap. I was just reading and the battery down to 50%. If they fix it I will absolutely buy it. Oh and allow us to use Google play
This tablet doesn't support exfat for the micro SD so the only way to transfer files bigger than 4gb is to use the micro SD card as internal storage device instead of portable storage device. By using the internal storage device option it will instead use the ext4 file format which you can just transfer your bigger files directly with the cable included from your PC. Other than that it's a good tablet can't wait for root and custom rom.
I got a blue one a couple of weeks ago. The screen looks great. The sound is good. Mine doesn't look or feel flimsy. I side loaded all the Google stuff onto it and I am really enjoying it. I just wished I had waited until it went on sale this week so I could have saved $50. I got the blue. The bezel area is black. The white bezel tablets/readers always bothered me. It draws my eye to it when watching movies and such.
Yeah, four little file needed to be downloaded in correct order.....not necessarily "user-friendly" to a device that should have it. Amazon sucks with their proprietary bullshit.
I do have to slightly disagree with you on cameras and tablets. While, sure, given the Fire's target demographic, they have no place being on them, but with bigger, more powerful and *ahem* stock tablets, you can use those cameras to scan receipts or documents, or the face camera to make video calls with friends and family.
Except a lot of stuff won't work...My friend bought new Fire 10" and side loaded google app store....he said he had lots of trouble running a lot of programs.
Fire TV app is broken on this tablet. It will constantly crash. If you want to use this table with an Amazon Recast, forget it for now until they fix the Fire TV app and they have been working on a fix for weeks without success so far.
Many apps DO NOT WORK with this tablet. Very buggy!! I purchased one a few years ago and then one day, the charging port would not work. Could not factory restore because it needed to be charged and out of frustration I bought a new one last month. Sooooo many apps that I used in the older version would not work at all. Common apps like eBay. Basically any competition with Amazon will not work. I sent it back. Garbage!!
Seen it on Amazon and order it for $48. I expect something far less than what this review is showing. Hope It works and I can still hack it to the Google store.
Bought it, it was impossible to get notifications from apps, be it messengers, video calling, social media, nothing worked. Off it went. Bought an iPad instead.
Side by side it looks to me gen 1 has richer color and black levels vs current gen which looks a bit flat and washed out. Everything else in spec is an upgrade.
There is a faster charger they sell, not sure about quick charge itself though. I've plugged it into my OnePlus 7t quick charger and it didn't damage it.

You Can actually change the search engine on silk browser by going into settings and then advanced.
You can actually install nova launcher and have it work as on a normal Android launcher.

I agree with you he looks *meh* about the tablet
Just buy it? I've had two Fire HD tabs.....and here's my take:
Pros : Price is great. Screen is clear and bright, sound is really good for a cheap tablet (the older 7" version with Dolby was amazing).
Cons: and there is a bunch of them!
1. Bloatware : Yep you can spend more to get rid of ads but that is a really shady money-grab. There is a shitload of "Amazon" apps you will rarely, if ever, use and that takes up about 25% (or more) of your internal storage.
2. It makes you jump through a few hoops to get Google Play Store and CZcams to get it working...not hard but a definite fail for new time buyers. Amazon app store is nothing even close to Play Store.
3. Biggest gripe : the WiFi sucks on this thing. Not sure how they flubbed it up, but they did! I constantly lose connection with the Fire, while a five year old Samsung rocks it just fine. That's huge! If you're constantly losing connection, performance means nothing.
A "must buy"??? Not at all. I'm tired of the bullshit that Amazon pulls with their tabs. And I'm not talking about build quality or a squeaky flex to the frame. The Fire HD works but doesn't do anything great.....spend another 50 bucks and get a solid Android 9.0 tablet and that pesky "proprietary" Amazon OS fades into obscurity.
does this have google play store on it? If not can you put it on. also, can you download apps like cbs, fox and the sort. really only need to stream tv while on the road. thanks. great job on info.

I'm watching on mine right now. I really liked my previous Fire 10 but I immediately noticed the improvements in processor, newer system, and the front camera. Not that it's amazing how necessarily, but I did notice the front camera is now pretty useable for video chats. Gaming and streaming both work very well in it.
I can't believe that in 2019, anyone actually puts a 2mp camera in anything.
@@sx20Ramar yeah it's pretty low but the front camera is payable for video calling and that's ok easier for such a budget friendly tablet

You must be kidding. I mean, it's ok, but it isn't anything special. I bought a couple of them and gave one away. I got a much better tablet for $95 (Tablet 10 Inch Android 9.0 3G Phone Tablets with 32GB Storage Dual Sim Card 5MP Camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, Quad Core, HD Touchscreen, Support 3G Phone Call (Black)) which is lightweight and does a ton of things quickly and easily without ads. I have the Kindle reader on it so I have everything I could get with a Fire but without the limitations.
on or around March 28th, 2020 CZcams made changes about saving favorite videos. Are you guys that have this tablet still about too?

The wifi is especially awful - we had 2, and both disconnected every few minutes ( when you tried to load any web page bigger than a few kb), with a strong wifi router nearby in the same room.
It would it be great if I could connect google.but it is kind of difficult to do it,I went for the Samsung tab a 32 GB for 159 bucks...

It would be great if we COULD actually buy it. Amazon have screwed up their Australian market entry so badly that it simply isn't available, nor are we able to buy it from the USA like we used to. Because apparently we now have our own local store....

I bought it and returned it a few days later because the battery is crap. I was just reading and the battery down to 50%. If they fix it I will absolutely buy it. Oh and allow us to use Google play

This tablet doesn't support exfat for the micro SD so the only way to transfer files bigger than 4gb is to use the micro SD card as internal storage device instead of portable storage device. By using the internal storage device option it will instead use the ext4 file format which you can just transfer your bigger files directly with the cable included from your PC. Other than that it's a good tablet can't wait for root and custom rom.
If the OS was not so locked down, these would sell like hot cakes.
You can sideload the Google Play Store on it. Turns it into something much more useful. Google/CZcams will give you instructions.

I got a blue one a couple of weeks ago. The screen looks great. The sound is good. Mine doesn't look or feel flimsy. I side loaded all the Google stuff onto it and I am really enjoying it. I just wished I had waited until it went on sale this week so I could have saved $50. I got the blue. The bezel area is black. The white bezel tablets/readers always bothered me. It draws my eye to it when watching movies and such.

Yeah, four little file needed to be downloaded in correct order.....not necessarily "user-friendly" to a device that should have it. Amazon sucks with their proprietary bullshit.

I do have to slightly disagree with you on cameras and tablets. While, sure, given the Fire's target demographic, they have no place being on them, but with bigger, more powerful and *ahem* stock tablets, you can use those cameras to scan receipts or documents, or the face camera to make video calls with friends and family.
Install the google app store on it and your sorted
Except a lot of stuff won't work...My friend bought new Fire 10" and side loaded google app store....he said he had lots of trouble running a lot of programs.

Fire TV app is broken on this tablet. It will constantly crash. If you want to use this table with an Amazon Recast, forget it for now until they fix the Fire TV app and they have been working on a fix for weeks without success so far.
Does the screen have that "air gap" effect from the display being recessed under the glass like previous Fire Tablets?

Many apps DO NOT WORK with this tablet. Very buggy!! I purchased one a few years ago and then one day, the charging port would not work. Could not factory restore because it needed to be charged and out of frustration I bought a new one last month. Sooooo many apps that I used in the older version would not work at all. Common apps like eBay. Basically any competition with Amazon will not work. I sent it back. Garbage!!
Seen it on Amazon and order it for $48. I expect something far less than what this review is showing. Hope It works and I can still hack it to the Google store.

I got 2 fire tablets and they have AUTHENTICATION PROBLEM...I don't know what to do...
Bought it, it was impossible to get notifications from apps, be it messengers, video calling, social media, nothing worked. Off it went. Bought an iPad instead.
Did you go to Apps or Sound and Notification in Settings to turn it on?
Side by side it looks to me gen 1 has richer color and black levels vs current gen which looks a bit flat and washed out. Everything else in spec is an upgrade.
Does anybody know if this tablet can take quick charge? If not, can you plug it into a quick charge power brick without damaging it?
There is a faster charger they sell, not sure about quick charge itself though. I've plugged it into my OnePlus 7t quick charger and it didn't damage it.
