after multiple races and test sessions, we finally were able to get around to servicing the generator to get ready for our next couple no prep kings events!

Never fill fuel filters with unfiltered diesel fuel. That’s the quickest way to contaminate the fuel system. Use the primer to fill the filter.

Yeah Justin, like others have said--there's no need to tighten any spin-on filter with a filter wrench. I'm 75 and have had cars, race cars, Harleys, big trucks, and heavy equipment and never tightened one more than hand tight. Just trying to be helpful, not critical. Just curious--what size is that generator ? 15-20K ? Good to see you keeping up on ALL the maintenance, not just the race cars.

Justin your like why is this filter so tight as you just showed yourself overtighten the oil filter just a minute before. You only need like 1/4 to 1/2 turn from seated on most stuff neever turn till stop with a wrench on any filter especially a fuel filter they really stick even greased they stick

Always funny to watch newbs doing things… don’t drop the trailer on the feet with the truck before pulling out… over tightening filters… don’t service the fifth wheel while it’s detached… can’t back the truck under unless it’s perfectly straight… also should never tug on a trailer with the landing gear touching the ground as that’s how you mess that landing gear up and have to replace it😂😂😂 might be a great racer and know how to wrench on a race car but you need to watch some CZcams how to videos on hooking/unhooking your rig and servicing it😂😂😂

Since everyone else posted, i might as well tell you're over tighten them filters way too much.
Hold tight, constant hard pressure and that filter will slowly start to turn. I use a little grease one the gasket and tighten with good clean dry hands and clean filter surface, and have no leaks, and filters come off pretty well with filter wrench. They will get pretty tight from time to time, especially if u go a while longer than u should. Contant hard pressure on the filter wrench usually breaks it free. It will b slow at 1st, then it will free up.
So, that's how it's done. I can't imagine Ryan doing what I just witnessed. Because of your overall expertise, you're my favorite to win it all in NPK this season. I like Shawn (and Ryan), but let's face it, they really don't know which end the smoke comes out-especially without their main helpers. Go for it-you're the man!

I can tell you this right now I work on them things for a living. You just way over tightened that oil filter dude. The next time you try and take that oil filter off you're gonna fight that filter just like you're fighting that fuel filter I promise you. There's a reason why there's an opening there man that's what keeps them tight their pool vacuum that's what holds them on hand tights all you need... Love you guys maybe you'll take that infrigated

Not here to troll, just giving advice. Make sure you’re air and electrical lines running to your trailer are up and off the catwalk over time it will chafe the insulation on the pigtail or cause and air leak on the service and supply lines
Oh my God you just did the same thing with the fuel filter there is no g****** reason you need to tighten them filters that tight... They have an o-ring on them for a reason one not to spill fuel 22 create vacuum to succumb tight hand tights all you need bro... Next time you go to pull them filters good luck

The guy got the socket for the oil pan bolt and said it’s to big and he needs smaller, you then grab it from him, go check it and say yea it’s to big we need a smaller socket!!! Hahaha man I understand when they are learning stuff they’ve never done and it’s super important not to screw up, but little shit like that is crazy to watch and super frustrating that you don’t trust them on small stuff bro!! Either way keep up the good work, just give these guys some space to work too, I’m sure they will appreciate it and you will have more time to do more important shit!!!

Tightening the filters with the Wrench is really a very bad idea and you will curse yourself for having done it at the next oil change, like the absolutely unremovable thing Grrrrr!
