You probably ate food while there and want to return to realize again how fantastic food can be. My wife and I enjoyed ourselves for some weeks there for work. When we arrived back at LAX, we were ravenous... the smell of the airport food court caused our throats to slam shut! We split an "Einstein Bagle" to keep from passing out. It was weeks in the US before we could source groceries that we could even stomach. It's incredible what the Israelis have in the way of food and fresh distribution. It should be on everyone's bucket list to eat their way across Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Do what I suggest at your own risk. You'll come back with the bar raised beyond most food available here. But it's a good thing.

And one last thing, Israeli society is very diverse and has Jews, Christians and Muslims, and it is perfectly fine to hang around with Christian and Muslim religious symbols, we accept all religions.

On the way north by bus, back to my kibbutz, I stopped along the Mediterranean Sea to camp on the beach. Walking along the beach, looking north and south, nothing but sand dunes and water! After hiking for 45 minutes, I met a young girl, a photographer! We greeted each other and talked a bit and continued parting company. I went back to my campsite in the dunes, and in the morning walked back to the bus stop, back to Haifa, onward to Tiberias. Not knowing till couple days later, that last morning on the beach, a zodiac of terrorists came ashore and murder that photographer, Gail Rubin. The day of the Coastal Road Massacre!! Someone in this comment section made an excellent point--The Holocaust Museum, Yad Vashem, although not entirely unique, is one of the most moving experiences I have ever had in visiting this most solemn museum dedicated to both the adult victims and the two-million children who were murdered out of some arbitrary sense of unwarranted hate. This latter part of the museum is an experience I will never forget.
I couldn't go to the terrible memory of something that would never have happened had Israel the warnings clearly set out by Moses just before the Lord then called up this faithful servant to let him behold the promised land and bury him secretly undisclosed place - it is interesting to note Moses and Elijah temporarily met Jesus Christ in the mount of transfiguration to talk about his Exodus
A pity the Jews are taking out their anger on the Palestinians. The holocaust had nothing to do with them. Many caregiver nurses come from outside of Israel. The unemployment rate in Israel is very low and there are not enough native Israelis who want that job, so work visas are relatively easy to get. Indeed, because the population is so well-educated, there is a shortage of manual laborers like caregivers, cleaners and construction workers. Thousands of workers from the West Bank and Gaza have special work permits for such jobs and cross into Israel daily

1. only new homes built from 1991 must have security rooms. 2. average monthly salary (12,000 NIS) is 3400$ 3. There are non kosher markets, street food and restaurants in Israel. There are no state laws prohibiting the selling of non Kosher food. 4. There are only a few old landmines in Israel, mostly in the Golan Heights and in a few places near the Jordanian border. most of them are clearly marked. The problem with going on unplanned trips to the desert are not landmines but accidently entering Military Operation Areas. 5. The embassys were never "moved to Tel Aviv" because they were never set up in Jerusalem in the first place. The UN did not recognize Western Jerusalem as Israel's capital long before the annexation of Eastern Jerusalem in 1967 and thus most countries located their embassies in Greater Tel Aviv area (Gush Dan) from the moment Israel was established in 1948. 6. Hamin is not a "Sephardic Cholent" but the Hebrew word for Cholent (which is a Yidish word)

As an Israeli, a very good overall presentation. Yes tipping is important, even though I have never seen 15%, it is usually 12%. A few pecisions/corrections :The candelabra lighten for Hannuka is called a hannukiya, has 9 branches, so not like the one our the countries seal that has 7 branches and is a menorah, the Western wall is not actually a holy site, but just the closest place any Jew can go to the holiest site which is Temple Mount where is the Dome of the Rock.
That’s wasn’t thrue the mosquée are in the emplacements of the second temple of Israel ! This place are the place for the Jews! Because all are prophète are inside down!
And the Dome of the Rock was built over the remains of the 2nd Temple. Still, the area is administered by Jordan and Jews are not allowed to pray there.
@@lifederenglish And if we are already talking about the Western Wall, the notes every year usually before Passover are collected and buried like everything that is holy in Judaism! They are not burned! There are other inaccuracies but I will leave my comments in the response itself!
Recent events might change this video a bit in terms of the readiness of the Israeli armed forces and the viability of the safe rooms. Horrible events and apparently Israel was not expecting a ground attack. Unbelievable.
Correction: The emblem of the State of Israel is the seven-reeds menorah resembles the menorah that stood in the holy Temple (on each side of the menorah stands an olive branch) The difference is in the number of reeds. The Hanukkah menorah, called hanukkiah, has eight reeds not seven, plus an auxiliary reed that serves to lights the other eight, called a Shamash (beadle in Hebrew) altogether, 9 reeds. The Hanukkiah can be found in a different structure than the Temple menorah, although the shape of the Temple menorah is very popular and probably therefore the menorah emblem of the state is often confused with the 9-reeds Hanukkiah.
Yes, thank you. I was perplexed as to why there was not seven lights on the lampstand as is described in the Old Testament. . Do the nine lights come from a Jewish tradition. Do they have any theocratic source?

Oh, you forgot an important practice or vital organization of Israel which must have been discussed here. About Freemasonry in Israel. In fact, the distinguished international fraternal organization were headed by Israelites in the past, worldwide. The Masonic temples in Israel were constructed with much grandeur and impeccable architecture. Israelite Freemasons are known to be extra intelligent especially their leaders.
Some rules or points I have never heard of despite being Jewish and have visited Israel countless times. Israel is the most awesome country in the world. Intellectual dynamic and warm people. It’s very vibrant and interesting with so many historical well preserved sites to visit. It also has a lots of national parks and nature reserves I highly recommend visiting, lots of hiking places too. A place like the Hula valley where migrating birds from Northern Europe and Russia stop over on their way to Africa for the winter has been preserved and you can go see the birds and visitor center shows bird movies has hiking trails gift store etc. Israel is into nature preservation and so many trees are planted all the time. It’s one of the few countries where RE-forestation has occurred. In the Negev desert large groups of new trees are forming brand new forests. Besides being very hospitable people it’s also very international and one hears lots of different languages there. Israel has the advantage of bringing Jews from all over the world together and sharing their knowledge and culture. For instance there’s a lovely Chocolate factory, D’ Carina, in the north where you can take a tour of the small factory and partake in making your own chocolates. It’s a family business that moved from Argentina I believe. So fun. My kids loved it, as did I. Just one of many possible excursions in Israel. There are also cable cars on Mount Harmon (small ski resort on Lebanese border) and to water caves by the ocean at Rosh Hanikra on Mediterranean side. So well organized and so beautiful to visit. The high tech industry is very successful and Israel is start up nation #2 after the Silicon Valley. So many new inventions come out of the army, out of necessity. Although they’ve had lots of political problems there is still amazing solidarity within the country and so energizing to be there. They forgot to mention many Arab families within Israel are very successful and affluent. Many are Muslim and are free to practice their religion. It’s a democracy with freedom of speech. There are Arab judges, doctors, politicians. Even though I didn’t grew up Jewish or know I had Jewish heritage before visiting first as a teen, when I’m there I feel at home. I stand with Israel! 🇮🇱❤️🇮🇱❤️

Spent a lot of time in Israel as a journalist. Great memories of a place I would love to visit again.
There are two Israeli restaurants within 10 miles of where I live.
@@slackleashdogtraining3598 It sounds as if you'll also come back home, with a 12-20 lb "fat-basket" above the belt line - and perhaps below.

The 7 armed menorah, reminiscent of the one used in the Temple in Jerusalem, is the one used for the Israel emblem, not the Hanukkah menorah.
What I would give to go visit Israel. Its always been a dream, I've always felt drawn to Israel and to New York. I dont know why, but every since I was a small child I've been so drawn to those places. Maybe some day I'll be blessed and I'll be able to go.
As an Israeli, I strongly disagree with part number 10, go explore Israeli nature! We Israelis love to go out and travel in nature, so the State of Israel invests a lot in developing safe, comfortable and accessible travel routes all over the country, we have a stunning country, don't miss it when you come to visit! In addition, Israel is a liberal country, it's perfectly fine to dress however you like as long as You are not in religious sites or in areas with a religious population. And one last thing, Israeli society is very diverse and has Jews, Christians and Muslims, and it is perfectly fine to hang around with Christian and Muslim religious symbols, we accept all religions.
This was my experience as well.

My thoughts and prayers with the Israelis ! Wish to be there someday!
In 1977, when the plan was to travel overland to India, I got as far as Israel! Found work picking grapefruit and bananas on a kibbutz. When it was nearing the expiration of my 90 visa, I traveled to Tel Aviv to upgrade my visa to a one year working visa. I stayed and lived on Degania Aleph for 3 years.
So horrible😥
Sad ending James. Maybe you will visit our magical land again. Two Deganyas, aleph and bet. Both full of character and good vibes.

This is one of the BEST presentations of Israel, their people, land, and culture that I have seen and heard. It is well worth the time to hear carefully, so we all will have a visual and better understanding of their life and culture. Jeremiah 29. 7 "And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace." This latter part of the museum is an experience I will never forget.

@@patriciakimball8150 Thanks for adding these small details. I just forgot to teach the entire lesson!😊. The various number of branches on the menorah confuses many people, as it did me. When I first visited Israel and saw that the menorah which was in front of the Knesset in 1971 didn’t have the “normal 8 plus one branches, like the menorah we used at home to light Chanukah candles”.

2. average monthly salary (12,000 NIS) is 3400$

Correction: The emblem of the State of Israel is the seven-reeds menorah resembles the menorah that stood in the holy Temple (on each side of the menorah stands an olive branch)
The difference is in the number of reeds.

The western wall is NOT the holiest place in Judaism. It is merely the holiest place Jews are allowed to pray. The holiest place is the Temple Mount right above it where the temples stood.
