Like if you think In-N-Out's Double-Double Animal Style is the best fast-food burger pound for pound.
👍👍
I haven’t eaten any of these
I need one of those double double animal style
IM NOT GONNA KEEP REPEATING MYSELF. I SAID NO MORE ALVIN AND I MEANT IT. BEING FAT ISNT A QUALIFICATION.
And of course Alvin os the only one with a bj face in the thumbnail. GET HIM OUT!!!!
Kenji is SO rightfully proud of his sauce sleuthing 😂 let that inner nerd out, man!
Kenji pulled out the nerdy food math and plugged a charity at the end of his segment. All we needed was a POV shot and we'd basically be watching his CZcams channel.

7:40 George spilling mustard on his shirt, burning himself, the smoke alarm going off, raw hamburger meat shot on the floor. I feel that is a pretty good analogy of the year 2020.
Underrated comment already.
Lol and don't forget the hairdryer in his face
This needs more like
Its just mustard it comes right off -tim heidecker kitchen tip
You know it's a stale meme when you're talking about last year.
George Motz is in a league of his own. A scholar, an educator and just a ball of jokes and charisma with sideburns. May we not take his burger kingdom for granted!
I had him sign my book "oh shit, thats hot" he never fails to burn himself.
When are they going to let George's history expertise and Kenji's scientific expertise combine to create the perfect burger?
Or the perfect channel
really cool to see their different approaches to food with George as a historian, Alvin as a pure chef and Kenji as a scientist!
🔥🔥🔥
Kenji is also a pure chef, he’s been on many food network shows and owns a few restaurants
@@lilaznballaz1022 I know he is a chef with a lot of experience working in restaurants unlike George, but my point was more that he approaches food from a different angle than Alvin (who owns several restaurants) because he is also a scientist and writer, whereas Alvin is known for being a chef more exclusively.
@@esmedientes you're right!! love this collaboration.
I feel like alvin's was weak compared to the others way too much lettuce and wonky seasoning. It was way more of an interpretation than an imitation. The other two were SPOT ON
Three certainties in life: death, taxes, and George burning himself
Was wondering about this myself. I am starting to think it is performance art
And Kenji throwing science and math into cooking.
idk how they let that dude on the show, he didnt steam that burger he boiled it
So true hahaha! 😂😂
@@godtroll749 "that dude" lmaoo smh
He'd be a better host than Alvin's un entertaining ass.
Motz is the man. I love everything he does. Gotta give credit to Alvin though for knowing to put him on camera and give him an audience. Had Alvin never done that most of us wouldn't know the glory that is The Motz.
"Alright Kenji you're up...."
"If my calculations are correct we are going to be working with 38% ketchup and 62% mayo.."

"Ready for a little bit of a history lesson?"
Always George...always
Kenji full-on reverse engineering In-N-Out sauce deserves honorary doctorate
It's thousand islands dressing

@@Sahentry nah. Thousand island is too sweet
It's junior high level math man, cool to see him really try to nail it and nerding out, but calm down.
@@patrickmcpartland1398 Still, it shows a good amount of ingenuity that he would do it that way.
“you won’t need math in the real world”
kenji: hold my burger
There are actually many little practical things you can do with math like that
"nostalgia is part of the flavour profile" - as usual, George hits the nail on the head. So true, and not just of burgers
That’s for sure! My 3 favorite fast foods have a half century of memories wrapped around them. Far better times.
Kenji's scientific background really comes through in this video. I love it, it's what made me a fan of his videos in the first place.
Did he do a first person view of this burger?
He's looking really rough these days. Like he's been on a bender for the last 6 months.
@@JimNortonsAlcoholism because he grew his hair? Lol
@@hensonjefd8681 Do you not notice his red bloated face and bloodshot eyes?
@@JimNortonsAlcoholism i don't know man, he looked like he gained some weight and maybe like he started smoking weed, which is understandable since it was pandemic and he just moved to a new house iric. probably just stressed. actually he kind of looks younger with the long hair. he looks a bit unhealthier but also younger at the same time. it's weird. but i wouldn't say he looks like he was on a bender. and he's still productive. i wouldn't worry. people go through these phases. it wasn't televised as much before we had youtube and vlogs and a pandemic that made us watch creators do diy vids at home mostly without professional lighting and make up which often would operate in a studio setting instead or at least some professionals in the background.
It just doesn't feel right not being mounted to Kenji's head at this point
@@0mnicide Mounted ON. Grammar is important Cathy
yeah it's super weird seeing his head
My parents went on dates to the local White Castle in late-30s Indianapolis. They began taking my brother and I in the early 50s (8 years before I saw my first McDonalds). These were special days. At 77, my first choice for fast food is a bag of sliders with onion chips (followed by Long John Silver and Rallys).
Nostolgia is definitely a big part.
Big mac: Grandma treated me when she took care of me as a kid.
Double double: Hanging out with the boys after class in High School.
White Castle: Really bad part of Chicago I shouldn't have been in.
The amount of times I’ve ended up at White Castle after a concert is uncalculable at this point.
I never had In n out or a double double until I was 30. I can confirm it's possibly the best burger I've ever had even without the nostalgia.
I have never had that double double burger. We dont have them here. Plenty of burger joints, just no In n Out's
George Motz, pure legend! I love everything with Motz, you could make a show with him peeling carrots, talking about anything
for 10 hours and i would watch every minut.
The man exudes this seemingly effortless authenticity and warmth with how passionate he is about burgers
I've been watching his show and he includes his son in 1 episode and his daughter has been behind the camera. He seems like an awesome Dad
He'd burn himself peeling carrots.
As a 7+ year in n out vet, you really did the double double justice kenji. Just so everyone knows you can always ask for extra spread for nothing on the side ;) you’ll never be able to perfectly replicate it without the specially made buns though, they are designed to toast perfectly and actually be stretchier and softer by heating, while just the edge stays toasty. Whole grill is the way to go my man and you nailed it.
INO alum here, too! Loved seeing one of my favorite nerdy chefs (even though he doesn’t like being called that) do a double-double justice! Though, because working board was my specialty, I had to slightly critique the fact that we’d remove the spine of the lettuce and add the tomato after the pickles but before the lettuce. 😉 But he definitely made his burger smile! 🍔
I applaud anyone that works at in and out! There’s one down the street from my work and that place is packed and the drive thru is wrapped around and onto the road! I’m a weekly in and out eater lol
Whop about the Whopper?!?
Kenji, if you're reading this, it's so hard finding good, relatable, videos to relate systems of equations to the real world for my algebra students, without boring them in the process. Thank you! You are awesome! I am going to turn this into an activity where the students' goal is to figure out the secret recipe themselves. Thank you!
Kenji looking like a proud 1st time father showing off his sauce equation ☺️
Kenji looking like an alcoholic. He needs rehab.
I love Mr.Motz's enthusiasm and the just right energy level he gives off. You just know that even if he wasn't with First We Feast, he would still be making Hyper Regional burgers at home for his family. I love the guy - hugely positive vibes from him.
I've said it once and I'll say it again, you've got three different yet complimentary styles of cooking here from The Scientist, The Historian, and the Minimalist
i love how your big mac looks exactly like the picture - and the one you get at McDonald's never does.
there is no butter on a bm! it is simply pressing the bun on a flat top toaster. Or what Kroc said, carmalized bun
16:40 Man's voice deepened after just one bite of that burger, thats how good it was
George, Kenji, and Alvin all in one video! Welcome back, guys!
long live tekkadan
For me, the most nostalgic burger is the A&W Papa Burger. Up to 2/3 of a pound of burger perfection, served with fries and a big frosty mug of their signature root beer - it was like heaven on earth.
I worked at McDonald's. They don't butter the buns.
No, they do not. Like most burger joints, they go straight in the toaster. The only things that I ever saw being buttered were the muffins during breakfast
One thing never changes, I watch an episode of The Burger Show and suddenly I'm STARVING!!!
Kenji crushes this. Love the mathematical approach to figuring out the mix. Filtering out and weighing the pickle relish? genius!
That sauce recipe explanation from Kenji was the best thing I ever heard. I need my daily work tasks described like that to convince my boss I work too much.
Kenji's hair is magnificent, the way it flows when he takes a bite of the burger in the intro, chefs kiss

Not only do I just love George Motz for how funny and entertaining he is, I also find his knowledge about hamburger history absolutely fascinating. Can I adopt him as my uncle?
Thank you Mr. Motz, for helping bring me White Castle to Canada. I ended up having to make yeast buns since that's all I had, but it was white Castle sliders regardless. I also burned my hand topping/transferring the first burger from spatula to the plate too, even after watching you do it.
I love this so much! 3 people with such contrast! One looking from the past, one in the present and one trying to go further, trying to improve the future of burgers! These trios are ideal for this show
Kenji's spread math is amazing!!!
That was the most Kenji thing ever with the formula for spread, and I'm here for it.
Been Cooking and chasing Burgers for 20+ years I love all the work you guys do with the videos. I wish I was capable of hanging out and just cooking with people who share the love and passion for Burgers like you guys. I think Burgers are becoming more noticed in the last year and it's really awesome, probably a direct result of the content you guys put out!
Alvin, you are an absolute gem of a host! The little "boop" at the end of the jingle had me rolling.
The fact that George is NOT the host of "The Burger Show" is a tragedy beyond reckoning.
It makes no sense. Alvin must know some dirty, awful secret about someone high up.
You know he already hosts Burger Scholar Sessions on FWF, right? There's room for 2 burger shows...
@@monkeytube138 Yeah but don't you think that burger scholar and burger show should honestly just be one show? Alvin has the personality of a potato, I'd listen to George over him anyway.
all 3 of them nerding out to each of their own designated burgers is so funny, entertaining, and all looks f-in delicious
This is my first burger video and im so glad I tuned in, you guys are awesome. And the boop transition was perfect thank you for that.
You are three of my favorite people. I just finished trying all three. You absolutely nailed it and refined it in one. Awesome.
McDonalds actually lists the ingredients for the big mac sauce on their website (in the UK, not sure about US) and he's right, no tomato ketchup.
George is the ElectroBOOM of food CZcamsrs. I have no doubts that he’s an expert but he still manages to hurt himself and curse several times per video
I love this comparison so much lmao, spot on
Difference is ElectroBOOM most likely does it intentionally for comedic effect because he of all people knows electricity is only to be messed with safely
I love each of these guys so much. They’re passionate about burgers and food in general and I always learn something from watching them. :)
This is my favorite youtube fix ever! 3 chefs killed it. great job. MOAR!!!
I love how Kenji can't help himself but to be scientifically educational
lmao it’s funny he’s pulling a dad joke but being educational gotta love him
"How hardcore are you going, are you doing the five holes in the patties and everything?"
Does Kenji even know who he's talking to?
If you watched Kenji recreation of the McRib, you know he's as hardcore, he's just not used to meeting other people like him
@@TheDocPlatypus How about his long form articles back at Serious Eats?
There is a reason Babish keeps mentioning J Kenji Lopez-Alt.

Another phenomenal episode. Lots to learn and lots to drool for ❤️
I’ve watched a lot of Kenjis videos and I was expecting him to come up with some BS burger but I was extremely impressed. The Demi glacé cheese was insane
Kenji’s sauce formula is one of the most impressive culinary feats I’ve ever seen.
Love it when you bring all 3 of them together!

Always fresh french fries hack: Tell them you want your fries unsalted. This forces them to dump a new batch of fries for your order. Ask for salt packets at the window. Rinse/repeat for the rest of your life.

This has been known for a long time, I do this at McDonald’s, and it pisses them off it’s great

Except if you don’t salt them right away, the salt doesn’t stick to the fries the way it does when they leave the grease.
Kenji has the same In-N-Out order as me.
Except I usually only ask for the whole grilled because I'm embarrassed for some reason to ask for both 😂 and count it as a bonus if they accidentally give me both.
