Bro all of this stuff is worth $$$. Im a former firefighter, now safety consultant and i buy storage units too. Ive seen in the comments people saying you didnt have anything with this unit. What they dont understand is ANYTHING related to safety and/or life preservation is SPECIALIZED and most lively regulated by some oversight entity. That = $$$$$ and lots of it! And because every part is specialized their is a vibrant secondary market even for the old stuff. Some of the components cant be used in the field by a municipality or other pridessional firefighting departments but volunteers etc are ALWAYS looking for much cheaper than new stuff. THATS MONEY ALL DAY BABY!!!😂
SCBE is for firefighting, industrial applications; SCUBA is for underwater applications. Your unit strikes me as a Volunteer Fire station that was closed.
It’s like it’s a unit from an old fire house. Few Christmas decorations for the front and then a boat load of parts for their gear.

All the turnouts should have a date on a tag inside. The date determines if still usable. Liners are removable to wash separate from outsides.
quite funny watching your video & near to the end, your wife panned outside & there was a fire alarm on the wall right next to the unit!!!
That is some nice fire gear! And yes they still sell because a lot of volunteer firefighters have to buy their own gear. And no don’t wash them. They need to be washed in a special washing machine. We have one at our VFD
I work in the oil field and we have a safety trailer with most of that stuff in it. We use it when cutting into lines and when H2S or other hazardous gasses are present.
Old turn out pants are great for heavy yard work, working on vehicles, and all kinds of chores and farm work.
Not to mention it is very warm for winter

My husband's retired fire and there are a lot of those things that will cross over from the mining industry, oil fields etc. Just because they date out in fire industry does not mean they aren't still usable/sellable. There will still be a market for them.

The more insulated turnout pants and jackets are for indoor structure fire suppression. The lighter weight turn out pants and jackets are for outdoor grass fire suppression.
In rural areas we have interior and exterior firefighters ( I am exterior Volunteer firefighter) interior get the more insulated 😊

The blue rectangular thing with the red key is an automatic distress signal unit, I could spend ages going through everything, but I'm watching in bed. As a retired Scottish firefighter if I had called the cylinders a tank I would have had my ears chewed off. There are a lot of collections out there, so good luck.
Just a random thought - there are prop masters who supply tv and movie production companies with props. Perhaps that would be a good source. They don’t need to adhere to regulations on the equipment. Great video.

I’m from way up north by lake Superior and my brother n law and crew who weld up the ships buy and use them. They are warm and last a long time :)
If they aren't useful for fire persons. Another great use is for farmers during the winter. The overalls can have many uses.
Yellow bags are masks holders. The black hand-held devices are voice amps. The person was probably a salesman and took the old packs in on trade for newer packs.
The first tote you opened up that mask you said it was a gas mask. I’m a retired firefighter that’s a firefighter mask. That’s what he wears to go into a firefight when he goes to go into a burning building there’s oxygen oxygen that gets pumped into that mask that’s what he’s wearing. That’s what he’s wearing.
Those flying pigs are adorable. I would definitely put them in the garden unless they’re worth a lot of money. Of course then you sell them lol.
70% of the country's fire depts are volunteer. Many don't have huge budgets, so they buy used equipment. (Former volunteer Chief)

The people who buy this stuff on eBay probably rebuild it and have it inspected. If you know what you are doing, you can make good money. I wouldn't be surprised if one of these buyers contacts you and asks for a bulk deal on the whole thing.

I would list them on ebay as fire rescue movie props. I would think there would be a lot of liability to even be used as parts. Just my non-firefighter opinion.

My bil taught for DuPont different chemical fires and what to use to control the fire.
It sure seems like with that many gauges and different breathing masks, maybe they did controlled burns.?

Local fire department can help you sort out as to what is outdate. Outdated gear could be sold as decor. Unit owner could have been a salesman of fire gear/ equipment.

None of that stuff is cheap. The air tanks need to be pressure tested, you can probably find a date on there for the last time it was tested. Fire gear is free to firemen, may be tough to sell. The fire clothing is called 'Bunker Gear'. Scott is a large manufacturer of fire protective gear. Those mesh bags are to hold the masks, and they clip to the front of the jacket. Honestly, it all looks like it was storage for a fire department that got new gear. Although some of it looks unrelated, but that unit was probably owned by a fire department.

That looks like the table I recommended you to get. Ask and yee shall receive. lol If it's the one I mentioned before, it should have adjustable height legs, so you can make it taller when needed to save your back. I sure hope you can sell most of that stuff. If so, you will make a ton. You guys deserve it! I love the stained glass with butterflies. I would be hanging that in my kitchen window. And the flying pigs are adorable. That's gonna be a lot of work researching and listing, so I hope pays off in a huge way. :)

The hoses for confined spaces are for rescue/cleaning etc and they pump oxygen through the hoses to the person (s) inside the confined space. Had to do safety training many times for my job.
I would think a film company may buy some of that fire fighting gear for tv/movies
