    This track-car combination had me went from driving AT to MT. The main reasons that I drive AT is that I am faster on most cars with AT, but this time is the opposite, as this car's engine is so sensitive to its cornering that the rev would drop a lot if you are in the wrong speed with the wrong gear. Just after a few laps, I knew I won't get that straight line speed if I exit the corner on AT, and that I can manage the MT for this comparatively slow car.
    Currently sits about top 6% world ranking on silver, don't think I can cut that 0.5 second to make the present gold time, let alone an improved one. Overall speaking I am pleased that the developers chose this car over those high-power, low-grip cars that the few leading players can exploit the shift-braking mechanism with.

      I agree mate. It’s such an iconic car and with the Goodwood Revival Festival happening this weekend it’s a nice tip of the hat to that from PD.
      I’m not a big fan of the gear manipulation you can do in the high power low grip cars as if you did that on a real car you wouldn’t make it past the first corner ! This is supposed to be “The Real Driving Simulator” afterall 😂
      I’m really pleased you have ventured into manual gears, is this something you are going to keep practicing or is this one a one off?
      I will say that this TT is one of the tougher ones to get right as the car goes from sliding a bit to way too much very quickly so it takes a fair bit of feel to get the balance right.
      Still 12 days left on this so I’m sure with a few more sessions you can knock some more time off 👍🏼.
      As always thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. It’s massively appreciated.

      @@PM10Racing Sorry to disappoint but I think I will stick with AT as long as the car is powerful. I can only do MT when it is a road car that is not too fast, otherwise, I am unable to manage the shifting while steering on a pad. The only other times that I have tried MT were the raining Tsubuka and the Broad Bean speedway where shifting was at a minimum and reasonable intervals. Also, as I am shifting with trigger, it is hard to use the pad to do such fine deceleration. Making turn 1 without losing too much speed is already a challenge enough and I think, at best, I can only get down to a 1:26 flat.

      @@stormmeansnowork no worries mate I’m glad you’ve given it a go anyway.
      I used to use X and Square to shift up and down on a pad as could never use the triggers to change gear.

    • @stormmeansnowork
      @stormmeansnowork Před 11 měsíci +1

      @@PM10Racing Actually that's how the faster controller players play because the trigger can be force sensitive but not the pad, and you only need the throttle and brakes to be force sensitive, not the shifting. In my case, I chose trigger shifting because that's how those steering wheel shifting works.

    Awesome video! Thanks! I started playing GT7 with the low ABS setting… just cuz why not… but do you really feel the difference with default ABS? Only time I tried default was in the lap time challenge at Laguna with the Vet (trying to find a way to get gold without the silly downshifting scheme) but I haven’t noticed much of a difference…

    • @PM10Racing
      @PM10Racing  Před 11 měsíci

      Thanks very much mate really appreciate it.
      The main difference in the ABS for me is that it’s a bit easier to get the back end out in GT and formula cars using the weak ABS.
      However, try it in a road car with rock hard tyres and no downforce and it becomes really unpredictable and snaps way too easy for me.
      I normally use weak ABS most of the time though unless it becomes too unstable like for this challenge.
      Thanks very much for watching and I hope to make more of these ever week.
      Cheers

      🧐 makes sense…. I do usually prefer my cars with a little bit of over steer on entry, with brake bias all the way back, I drove in GT7 with low ABS since day 1 so never noticed that nuance between high vs low downforce cars. As you say this Aston misbehaves on low ABS… I’ll give default a shot!

    • @PM10Racing
      @PM10Racing  Před 11 měsíci

      @@runninggnu8930 I think you’ll find you can trust the brakes more on this combo with the abs set to default, way less twitchy on the brakes.
      Good luck with it mate 👍🏼

    I achieved gold using TC2, dont know how hahahaha i think the car tends to oversteer less

    • @PM10Racing
      @PM10Racing  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Well done mate.
      It sounds like you were getting too much rotation on power so the TC2 helped to dull it down.
      Everyone has their own way of doing it. Whatever works the best for you mate. Congratulations

    So do I need a specific Setup for this track?

    • @PM10Racing
      @PM10Racing  Před 11 měsíci

      As far as I know, there isn’t an option to set this car up manually so we are stuck with the fixed setup unfortunately.
