- The Finnish composer Jean Sibelius is not very well known for his solo piano compositions. What a shame that these rare gems have fallen into obscurity.
The "Romantic Scene" has been described by Tawaststjerna as "perhaps the most perfect piece in the opus", and by Heinonen as "one of the most perfect gems in Sibelius's piano output".
This piece gripped me and wouldn't let go. I absolutely adore the mysterious opening chords, the passion and the unexpected modulations throughout.
I especially love Kyoko Tabe's interpretation, played on a Bosendorfer I believe: • Sibelius Morceaux r...
Piano: Kawai CS7
Sound: VI Labs Ravenscroft 275
I am never disappointed with your performances!
This is very beautiful. Your interpretation and dynamics are great! Thank you for sharing.
All pianists mentioned are my favorite Sibelius intrepreters. (I am Finnish, last year was in a consert by Tawastjerna) Trying to learn no 1 from the same opus.. You are so talented and indeed have a deep understanding of this style. (many Japanese seem to have a liking to Finnish music to my very positive surprise)
Really wonderful. Thank you!
Bravo Bravo!!!!
Love Sibelius! Great interpretation.
Beautiful, thank you!
Very beautiful playing! :)
Beautiful played!
how beautiful, good job!
Nicely Done!
I really do love this work and play it quite often myself, but your interpretation is quite different from mine. I am not sure which edition/publisher of the music sheet you are using, but mine is Izumi Tateno's. Needless to say, he is one of the greatest pianists in the world. The Finnish government awarded him the Order of the First Class Knight of the Lion of Finland in mid-70's.
Since 1981, he has been beneficiary of a stipend given by the government of Finland, and is presently the president of the Sibelius Society of Japan.
What you doing is beautiful. I have a Yamaha N1X digital piano and also have the RavensCroft library. Can you let’s know if you are using the default setting on the RavensCroft or do you have your own setting? Can you share it with us please
Thank you for enjoying my music! It's been awhile so I'm not sure of the exact settings. I think it's an equal combination of Side, Close, and Room.
Perfect as always! Your handwork very impressed. Are you checks another VST? What you thinks about it? I just can't decide what buy first ) ravencroft or garritan cfx :)
Thank you. I have only tried other VSTs from the VI Labs company. I haven't tired the Garritan CFX but I have heard good things about it
Very beautiful! Is this Kawai a digital piano?
Yes, this is the Kawai CS7 digital piano
How do you record your piano?
For this recording I used a Kawai digital piano and the sound is a software piano "VI Labs Ravenscroft 275" so the sound is recorded directly into my laptop using a midi cable and into the GarageBand software. For my recent piano videos I'm playing on an Estonia Acoustic Grand so I record with a Zoom H5.
