The trick is focusing on algorithms and following logical steps to win by saving lives, improve pulmonary function and getting patients to survive
his wife won, don't find too many genuine intellectuals, who are selfless like this guy everyday
What is his wife's profession, is she in medicine?
@@jujutu5084 doesnt look like it with the interaction they had when she says she supports him.. and also when he said if she has any doubts when he told her he likes to study. I mean she could relate to him if theyre in the same field.
Juju Tu no I think she’s stays home
We are all the same no matter the color. I am a Jamie also and I am a perfusionist in NC
@@jamesnorris9637 Whats a perfusionist?
Thanks so much for posting. I showed this video today in my class, I teach 2nd grade in a low income area and we are working on our professional behaviors. The kids were so impressed with your day and when they saw all your shoes they started SCREAMING and banging on their desks lol. Just wanted to let you know you’ve really blessed our day and been a great role model to us. God bless!
Mary Kathryn Rhodes that’s amazing
Every time I’m having a difficult time reaching a kid who is defiant or just hurting too much to really relax enough to listen I show them this video. This is a future they can SEE and they want! Your example is honestly changing lives out here!
Mary Kathryn Rhodes that means a lot. Thank you
That is what it’s all about
@@mrs.rhodesclassroom This is so awesome. It brought tears to my eyes!
I know this homie busy as hell right now...
Frs getting all the money
@John Wayne I think he means Bc of corona lol
Every day he steps into the ICU he could get sick and then die weeks later from multiple systemic organ failure
This is the coolest guy. That admissions story is so amazing. "Ask and you shall receive."
It is great to see a Black male physician in a field that they are underrepresented!
It would be that much more great if he had a beautiful Black female with him!!!
@@isiahsteele7418 lol
@@isiahsteele7418 and i oop! once i saw he was in Cali i knew it was a wrap! lol but we need more black doctors male and female
Are they? Doesn't seem like it, i've seen plenty of them
yea they are, a little less than half in proportion to population. study harder
As an anatomy and physiology student, I am so proud that I understood the medical terms before he explained it

“ You are not a number...” don’t let anyone take your personality from you.
What a mindset. These are the people who are living life to their fullest and not the ones on Instagram showing off stupid cars and their body. I wish I could attain this mindset someday.
That conversation at the end was just so intellectual and well said, I was impressed. I want to talk with them too lol.
"I hate compliments" lmao that shit was beyond cliche.

This video is TOO damn good. The content and the editing, both are 110% on point. Wow!
Most of all, Dr. Rutland is amazing. Dude is an inspiration and a really great example of what aspiring docs should look up to.
Agreed. He's the man
This is my homie in OC and I’ll tell you what, this is him in a very authentic view. I’m very proud of him and thankful to know him...

Dr. Jamie Rutland: May you have the strength during these trying days to save as many lives as possible. Thank you for your work. Stay safe.
Definitely one of the physicians that stood out from a variety of the day in the life (doctors) I’ve seen. Love this man.
I Love this Doctor!!❤️
He has more shoes than I ever had in my life.
My brain: You are suppose to learn something from him
ME: Staring at him the whole time
I really like how long-form this video was. Every aspect of his day (and practice!!) was captured on this video making it very informative. Thank you for sharing!
"reward the small victories" We need more Great Drs like him around!!! love the advice.
Excellent!! Kind of Doc I always loved working with!! Knowledgeable yet always learning, compassionate, respectful and always works as a team member!!
I didn't know there were such awesome young doctors he's so well spoken and intelligent it's so refreshing
As a med student. This was absolutely on point. Loved the advice. Keep them coming Dr. Jubbal. Great work
Love the pep talk from the trainer at the end of the video. There's always something for us to learn and it can come from anyone
Loved this video, as a young aspiring doc it was so cool to see another doctor's daily life and all he does. Not to mention seeing another young black doctor reminds me that I can do it too - thanks for the video Dr. Jubbal and Dr. Rutland! Hopefully, I'll get there one day.
James Wairagu good luck
Rooting for u!
A style icon, amazing dad and father, eloquent public speaker and a pulmonary critical care physician. Thank you so much Dr. Jubbal for featuring and inspiring a motivating legend who’s evidently killing the game! And to you Dr.Rutland thank you for sharing such knowledge and reinforcing aspects of life we must pay close attention to in order to better ourselves because at the end of the day we are competing with ourselves and no one else. An amazing video 🙌🏽
Love this guys perspective on learning and patient care. What a wonderful physician to have chosen for this episode.
This is the best Day in the Life video hands down, I'm a rising MS2 and I really loved the idea to push for a little more daily, that's key for growth in all aspects of life. Much love brother!
I’m a RT and it’s great to see a physician that’s down to earth and just seems like a great person.
This has been so helpful. I’m an RN and it can be easy to be “burnt out”. This has opened me up to the many things that I can learn. I love to learn something new/grow as a nurse.
This guy is next level. Interpreting for the patient and their families, that’s what it’s all about. Great job.
Rising second year here. Thanks for the advice doctor. Its good to hear from a resident on how to navigate the system. It's still crazy to me how I am expected to know exactly what kind of doctor I want to become but the third year. Leaning more towards a procedural heavy field and being on my toes is something I value. Being busy enough that the time flies by is something that I think will keep me engaged in my work.
Thank you for sharing your day with everyone and even those motivational points at the end. These videos are very helpful for those who are just starting out and thank you for being a down to earth person. ❤️
Love this. So inspiring. I'm a nontraditional student pursuing my RN. My heart and soul is FULLY committed. Doing this for my mom dying of alcoholism, my dad who never sought treatment for mental illness.
Minute and a half in and it’s already motivating as hell.
I really enjoyed this! As a second year MED student gearing up for USMLE Step1 soon I needed this motivation. I can’t wait to start working with my future patients. Thanks Dr.Ruthland!🙏🏾
Critical care Paramedic/RN here. Learning something new, or even re learning what you've learned is the best way to better yourself as a provider!
I wanna be like this man when I grow up!!
Amman Byars do you
Amman Byars be you! Just a wiser version!
No, be better.
Incredibly inspirational, keep up this awesome format!!
Seems like a very genuine guy. Thanks for the video.
Very inspiring!!...m preparing to get into residency in my country and Jamie's thought process reli gave me a boost. Thanks for making this and many such videos Kevin.
I would like to say you are very motivational ! I’m starting the respiratory therapy program in August and I’m super excited. Seems like it’s been a long journey leading up to this point, but I know it will pay off. I won’t be a doctor but I want to be as happy and excited for my career as you are!
I understand the compliment dilemma, but what I’ve learn just a simple thank you is good enough when someone offers you flattery. Love the vid! Keep it up doc!
What an awesome video BRO, you got me and you engorged me to work harder and better. Much appreciated
My grandfather has COPD as well. It’s awesome you went into the field to help others who have it
This was definitely a very informative video. Admittedly, I'm an electrical engineer, and a few years back I thought about going back to school to go into a medical discipline; so, this video was very informative. Thanks!
your daughter is so lucky to have such exemplary role models as parents.
The coach complimenting Dr. Rutland, and explaining why, is beautiful. Learn every day!
I am in college at this time. I watched this with such vigor that I want to spread the love that was just giving to me through this channel. Thank you so much for being a voice on encouragement and great advice. I am now a sub and hope to see more of the channel.
MOTIVATED!! About to start M1 and I have been inspired. Thank you
You're awesome, Jamie! Such an inspiring physician! I hope to one day emulate your compassion and drive to always keep learning when I am in the field. Wishing you all the best in your future.

This one was awesome. Thanks for the inspiration, Jaime!
I don’t even wanna be a doctor but I saw this and it really inspired me to work harder. It’s 3:40am here and this has inspired me to start grinding and working hard to strive and be the best person I can possibly be. Thanks a lot. You are very selfless and it’s contagious.
Great video, Dr. Jubbal. Production keeps getting better and better.
Thank you for giving me this valuable advice that I should persevere in what i strive to do in my life.
This is exactly what I needed now. Great words! Thank you! 👊🏻
Such a sweet person with a beautiful family. Thank you for making this video. Take Care.🙏🙏🙏🙏
That hairsheen tho LMAO
But seriously, mad respect for this guy's hustle 💪🏾
The way he explains processes and terms...he'd make a good professor for sure.
Amen! You are incredibly talented! God bless you and you family!!!! Much respect!
I love this guy. His patients are certainly lucky to have an MD like him
Thanks for this video Dr. Kevin Jubbal. God bless you and Dr.Jamie Rutland and your family.
I'm a Medical student who is currently getting ready to take Step 2 CK/CS and apply for residency. I'm sure you know how stressful this current time in our lives is. I'm not going to lie. I have been pretty down and out as of late from burnout/stress which is de-motivating me to study/work hard. In the ending of this video you basically gave a mini pep talk that I think I REALLY needed to hear. I understand that nobody is going to help you or motivate you but yourself but listening to you kinda of gave me some motivation and a little kick in the ass I needed. So thank you for that! :)
How did it go?
I love these videos. Dr. Jubbal, you and the med school insiders team keeps inspiring me to follow my dream to become a doctor :)
Great video. Best part is the time he took to get off the wait list. Knowing that he set his goal to become a doctor and moved forward.
I loved every second of this video. The 3 pieces of advice he gave towards the end, will forever be with me. Great video guys.

Hey Dr. Rutland, I loved your advice encouraging all of us to learn something new everyday - have the material ready, so when a break comes up you can seize the opportunity. Also great 3 ideas you shared, especially being nice, we need more of this in the world.
Most valuable content I’ve watched in a very long time. This man is an inspirational gold mine.

Literally the reason I decided to go to CNA school and hopefully go to LPN from there. I'm so tired of not learning while I work, especially the topics that interest me. Thank you so much for sharing, it's nice to hear you say all this. Inspirational!
