That's because Mayweather shuts down his opponents and makes his fights so uncompetitive that he gets shutouts and wide decisions. Cuadras did great work yesterday and the fight could've easily been scored a draw, yet he was getting no praise from the biased commentators. Just CHOCALITO did this CHOCALITO done that while he's getting bruised and battered. At least on Showtime they gave credit to Maidana for what he was doing against Floyd and the scorecards were close. This is just awful. Cuadras deserves much more

The more i watch the fight the more I'm starting to see that cuadras actually won!! I watched it properly without all the bias commentary i seen that cuadras was fucking up romans face with power shots, Carlos was deffo the more skilful, he had better footwork, better combinations and was tagging the fuck out of roman, roman was just coming forward throwing accurate and wild shots but with no effect, he was constantly being countered and was hurt on numerous occasions, i feel Carlos won by 2 points, roman good and has great skill set but he certainly didn't do enough to beat a champion, their faces say it all, boxing is a dirty and corrupt business

Yeah, a lot of Boxing fans are saying Cuadras got robbed, and a lot of them aren't even Mexican. Myself included. It was hard to score accurately with HBO being the most biased I have ever seen, but I still scored it 7-5 for Cuadras. He was clearly more skilled, he rolled most of Roman's punches. He was landing more effective punches as well. I mean look after the fight, Roman was very damaged and Cudras left like he just had a spa day.

Plus even though the camera didnt catch it well Im pretty sure Cuadras NEARLY got knocked down, at very least he was seriously stumbled and hurt in that one moment. I scored the fight Slow motion and my scores weren't very different from the judges. Cuadras only earned himself 4 rounds.

Roman certainly threw the most punches, but he failed a lot, he did not hurt his opponent and he was not the man landing the most telling blows. Roman was visibly hurt several times through the fight while Cuadras was not. If boxing was just the art of throwing most punches, Mayweather's record would look very different...
the heavier guy naturally will pack the punches a bit harder thats what happened with Cuadras but Chocolate won minimum 8 rounds.

It's Alan he is very good defensively, Cuadras is the first fighter to land as frequently on Roman as this. He's great at slipping punches but the volume from the younger fighter was too much in this fight to slip them all

Roman Gonzalez's punches were cleaner, but Cuadras punches were heavier, Cuadras was more active but Roman gonzalez was more precise ,It really comes down to which style you like better, a draw would of been nice.

People that say Chocolatito lost are either Mexican or don't know how to score a boxing match. Choco won 7-5 rounds, 6-6 could be argued as some rounds were a toss up. Cuadras put up a great fight. He just bounced around the ring too much, if he stood and fought more often rather the moving and being inactive while Choco tracked him down.

These highlights make the fight look close whereas Gonzalez won just about every round and hardly took a step backwards. But I can't see Chocolatito staying at this weight: even though he's a class act he's just not physically big enough for Super Flyweight. He proved his point - he beat the best in the division - so he should now return to his natural weight.
It is funny some people say Cuadras won the fight, These guys should watch the fight round by round and take notes .They will realize that Chocolatito won 7 rounds and Cuadras won 4 and 1draw so how in the hell can Cuadras win. Chocolatito put a lot of pressure the whole fight, Landed more blows and was in control most of the fight. These guys are sour losers. They can not see the reality. The best trainer in Mexico`s history said best. Barentain said it was a tough fight but there is no doubt Chocolatito won and beat a bigger man and this is something that most fighters won`t do take chances and challenge yourself against the best to be considered one of the best. Guys, it's not about how the fighters' faces look like at the end, some guys tend to mark more easily than others (and that's all about genetics) it's about who won most rounds.
I scored it 115-113, 7-5 for Chocolatito but I'm not shocked if anyone scores it a draw or for Cuadras.
Anyway a rematch is totally needed.

While Cuadras was busting Gonzalez's face in the eyes, Gonzalez was stunning Cuadras hard to the chin. One got looks uglier, the other was hurt more.
You're forgetting that Cuadras outclassed him, had way better style. way better combos, beat his face the hell up and and even had way better stamina as Chocolaito was sloppy and looked like a drunk fighter towards the end of the fight. Symbolically Cuadras beat him in every way. Chocolatito only had perseverance and that's it.
Outclass? Better style? Are you stupid?! There's no such thing as a better style and Gonzalez was the better boxer and more effective. And you are even more stupid if you think Cuadras had more stamina, if he had more stamina then why was HE the only one doing all the holding? Gonzalez was fatigued but at least he made the effort to keep pucnhing and not wasting everyones time holding. Gonzalez hurt Cuadras far more, sure Cuadras was banging on Gonzalez's face, but Cuadras was the one who truly got hurt and Gonzalez won that match fair and square. So quit crying about it and suck it up that Gonzalez won and is CLEARLY the better boxer. Cuadras gave a tough fight and most of the rounds were close, but if you can't accept what you saw, than you don't know nothin about boxing.

Cuadras entertained me with his showboating, foot movement and rapid fire combination, but where was his defense huh?! Where was it. You're judging this fight like an amteur boxing judge who only watches who throws more punches without seeing who lands more cleanly. There were a couple moments where Gonzalez took flurries he shouldn't have taken that even costed him a few rounds, but Gonzalez was the only one with a defense and far more precise in the early to early mid rounds. And even when Gonzalez was fatigued, he didn't just "throw punches", he was STILL timing them! And I don't tell me about appreciation of style. In boxing there's always the legitamate fighters and the point takers. Ali was a point taker but I liked him more than Frazier. Mike Tyson was not a point taker like Lewis, but I still liked Tyson more than Lewis. GGG is a legitamate fighter, but I like Canelo more even though he's more of a point taker. I appreciate EVERY style. but who ever is the better BOXER is what counts and in THIS case it was Gonzalez. Gonzalez's style wasn't better or more effective than Cuadras, and Cuadras's style wasn't better or more effective either, Gonzalez was just simply the better boxer.

If that's what you think, then it makes sense since Gonzalez wasn't clinching at all, but I think most fight fans would agree with me that clinching is CLEARLY more boring... It doesn't even take a fight fan to notice how lame it is to clinch your opponent, my own mother watched the fight with me and even SHE got irritated seeing Cuadras clinch in the late rounds the way he did. It is amazing how these so call fans keep on crying that Cuadras won this fight. Cuadras was the bigger guy and fought like he was the smaller guy. Ran all night and yes connected some good blows but Chocolatito was more efficient with his punches. Cuadras bruised Chocolatito`s face with headbutts to the face. I can`t take anything away from Cuadras he fought an excellent fight but Chocolatito won 8 round to 3 for Cuadras and 1 draw. So Chocolatito forced the fight otherwise it would not had been a fight,connected a higher percentage so how can these fans say that Cuadras won the fight. Ridiculous.
Yes he said it was the hardest fight because he did not take a tune up fight, he got balls he went straight for the bigger guy and beat him, 3 Judges are not blind to see him win. Chocolatito won fair and square 8 rounds and lost 3 to Cuadras and one draw. Both fighters head butted each other by accident because none of then are dirty fighters.

Those weren't head butts, those were hard accurate punches that bruised up Gonzalez's face. Cuadras hurt Gonzalez badly in the second half and even backed him up. I scored it a draw. This fight could of gone either way.
There was a couple of headbutts on both parties but no on purpose. I watched the fight a few times and i still have Chocolatito winning at least 7 or 8 rounds. Cuadras gave too many rounds away at the beginning of the fight running a lot, when he put pressure at the end it was too late. I praise both fighters for giving us a great fight. These warrior will open the door for the small guys who deserve to get pay good purses as the rest of the heavier fighters. Great fight a candidate for the fight of the year.

Cuadras won this one fair and square. Roman lacked any punching power, he never hurt Cuadras. Cuadras dictated the pace, was a defensive master, landed the most telling punches. Second time Roman gets a gift decision in a title bout...
please explain how he dictated the pace when gonzalez was the one pressing the action for the whole fight/ while landing more power punches. he was the consistent one. he won a close fight
JayseenX - Gonzalez threw a lot of punches, and he failed a lot. Cuadras not only made Chocolatito fail and survived undamaged, but was successful at hurting Roman several times. Their faces at the end of the bout tell the whole story.
And now cuadras is a champ again.

Gonzalez would be advised to not move up anymore though,he did show minor minor signs of wear and tear/limitations in terms of moving up in weight, hopefully he remains right there anymore and his speed will start to become a negative factor.was a very close fight i thought he won it 7-5,most who scored it for cuadras did so on the damage he caused compared to what Gonzalez inflicted on cuadras,and i get that,but i score it differently a bit is all take marquez in some of his fights vs pac,pac always busted his face up more usually,didnt mean marquez wasnt outboxing him much of the time and winning majority rounds.anyways really close fight,rematch is a must.

sinceramente es la única pelea que no me gustó en ningún momento puso mal a cudras fallo mucho no tuvo pegada le pegaron hasta x debajo de la lengua y para acabar en los últimos segundos de la pelea lo pusieron mal, excelente boxeador pero aquí lo pararon en seco obvio que pego pero no como le dieron a el y prueba de eso no va a ver revancha inmediata aunque la pelea que dieron lo merece pero x mil escusas pero no se va arriesgar a que le den ko pq cuadras se vio que lo puede hacer
Gonzalez won but I believe the fight was closer than the judges had it (one judge had it 117-111!). this was my first time watching Cuadras fight and he was very fucking impressive, will be following him more closely now.

Cuadras so much won this fight, yet they gave it to Chocoloatito. What a shame! Chocolatito's face confirmed it. Cuadras messed him up so bad. Cuadras is an amazing fighter. His combination punch is like Canelo. These Mexican fighters are amazing!! I want one! LOL

One important piece of data for those crying robbery in this fight.,Carlso Cuadras weight (WBC mandatory 7 days before the fight ) was 120.2 The max allowed is 120.75 only 5 ounces under weight limit.,Choco was 117.9 with hydrating and food after 7 days it only means that CHOCO was actually fighting a SUPERBANTAMWEIGHT the day of the fight,and still was able to outclassed the other fighter.The Guy is something else.

Gonzalez went up in weight from the bruising. Cuadras slapped the shit out of him all night with left hooks uppercuts and right overhands. Cuadras was only cut from a headbutt. He showed way better defense and movement. and to this point I was cheering for Chocolatito.
From the looks of it..Roman broke down the faster opponent with his power straights and close hooks..and most of the time the other dude missed a majority of shots in each of his flurry's, let alone most of them also getting blocked, still he caught Roman with a lot of god shots towards the end of the fight. But I think there's a difference between what is see on t.v., and what the judges actually see in reality. Just because a fighter is throwing above average punches doesn't mean he is always hitting with them. We gotta remember that boxing is a game of points and not crowd entertainment. But it is nice to see a good knockout every once in a while.
