When you learn more on CZcams than you do in school...
Totally!!!!
And when you learn more on CZcams than your parents.
True!!
Ikr
Yep. School is honestly worthless. You learn nothing you need to know once you graduate and get out on your own. Plus if your parents don’t teach you your screwed to learn everything yourself.
sad i had to look this up instead of learning from school
Thank you! Being 20 it's hard to stay up. (money wise) And it's videos like this help me get though life. Keep the real life videos coming.😄
Thank you so much Darrell! It is so good that you are thinking about money management at 20 years old! You should be really proud of yourself!!
Also 20 here!
I’m graduating in 6 months and my school still hasn’t taught me sh** about bills or anything else I may need to know for month by month living...
I graduated 20 years ago and they didn't teach me sh** either!!
That's just terrible ! You poor kids are our future, and that's how you're treated. : (
What school, public or private? If it's public, then why would taxpayers need to teach you about budgeting?
Because they want you to be confused, and dependent on what your bank and others tells you to do.
Nothing like doing it old school works best for me , great video love
8kidswhoscounting thanks love!! xooxox
this is honestly a really good way to start out when your about to live on your own!
Thanks, I have been doing this since I was 18 & moved out of my parents house :)
I do something similar. My husband gets paid every two weeks. I separate the bills into two paychecks.
So the Fridays that he gets paid I just have to open my notebook, sit in front the computer and pay online everything that's for that paycheck. Very simple.
***** Nice method! I think it's interesting to see how everyone else does this. Not in a nosey way, just simply curious! I love the fact that every person is different, one of the great beauties of this world!
This really helps me understand how to organize my finance and know when its time to pay the expenses. Thank you for making this video!!
i never paid a bill in my life (i'm embarrass to ask) but how do i know when my bill is due? like if i get my bills though the mail, do the company call me before they send it in the mail or do i have to wait for the bills to come? i don't know how to ask the question. i guess i'm asking how do i know when it's due?
Right now is Quarantine so I am gonna learn something new for my future like this
Awesome! I do this with a print out blank calendar bc seeing the date helps me lol. Loved this video!
Excellent video. So very simple, but much needed, and appreciated. I am adopting this very method. Thank you.
Thank you so much. I have been struggling for a while to balance my business bills and home bills. I enjoy writing but I though that was to old school and I never could find a planner that had enough slots for all my expenses. I also love how you put them in order based on what's due ! on the 1st of the month to the end of the month. I was bouncing all over my calendar trying to keep up .
I wish I seen this video way sooner now I’m able to keep track and save money. God bless you !
Love this idea! Been using the computer but we're trying to get on track with weekly spending. I've always loved pen and paper and want it all in one place. I am starting a notebook and didn't know how to approach. Thanks for sharing! I'd love to see other videos, I love getting ideas!
Katelyn Ryan give it a shot, you might find it works best for you to hold yourself accountable to physically write things down. It's the only way that works for me! & thank you for taking the time to watch & comment!
That's a good system thanks for sharing. I do it a little differently. I put all the paid bill statements inside a 9 X 12 manilla envelope with what you have written on the face of the envelope. At tax time I have it all organized, with 12 envelopes in a rubber band for the year.
This is so nice and organised, thanks so much for making this video!
Thank you for sharing! I am going to give this method a shot. I like the simple and clear approach.
lyons0805 thank you, I hope it works out well for you. It really doesn't take me much time at all and I try to write out the columns 3 months at a time, then all I do is fill in the amounts as the bills come in :)
Thank you for posting this. Simple, old school, and solid method.
Still use it today after all these years! Thanks for watching :)
Great video! Being now 36, there's more and more that needs to be managed and I'm an old school kinda of girl. Cool how we have pretty much the same system. My frds all laugh that I'm not jumping on the electronic bandwagon. You should see my to do lists, they get pretty long and it literally gives me such gratification when I cross things off. Paper and pen all the way!
Y Port a lot of my friends have all their bills paid automatically via electronic payment. I am seriously old school with my check book and pen every week. Actually sitting down to write some bills out now since tomorrow is payday for my husband. Love ya my old school friend!!
Y Port Old school here too. No electronic bandwagon for me. I write my to do lists on paper as well and it does give you gratification each time you cross off a task and makes you feel like you have really accomplished some things that needed to be done. I'm 36 too lol.
Great minds think alike! :-)
Thank you for sharing. I think this is going to make my life a little easier 😌
I usually round up to the next dollar amount when I figure out my bills for the month.
This video was very helpful! Tysm for sharing and explaining
Great video girl!!! I have a similar setup, but 90% of my bills are auto pay... just because of my mommy brain also. That way I don't have to worry about missing a payment!!! Haha!! I enjoy watching budgeting videos, so I would love to see more!!! Thanks for sharing!!
WifeMommyFamily Journey Thanks for letting me know you enjoyed it. Right now I'm in the process of trying to do as many helpful videos as I can in terms of cooking, organizing, budgeting, meal prep etc..... I've been getting away from doing diaper bag packing videos. Now that my son is 3 I don't need to carry as many things. I appreciate your support!!!
I'm definitely implementing this! I love it! Easy to keep track of and organized...Real nice girl...
Kecia Noble thanks my friend, super easy!!! Hope you like this method!
Thanks, setting up a table on my laptop like this one!

I love this…. I have tried several methods and nothing seem to be working for me. I will definitely try this method. Thank you.
Very straightforward and simple. Thank you. Will look forward to other things. :)
Barbara Gates thank you 😁
Fabulous! Pretty much the exact way I do it, I even use the same pen! xx
mrsb_21 Oh we're pen twins! Wish we lived closer, have a feeling we'd be such great friends!!!! xo
Oh I totally agree! xx
This is exactly how we budget, Husband gets paid every week and this method insures we get them all done and paid by the end of the month. Excellent video,

OhRio Family thanks so much! I want to do more, but wasn't sure if this is something people would be interested in seeing :)

I like your method and will try it
Thank you so much for this advice! Definitely gonna fry this!
This is exactly how I budget too! Hubby gets paid every two weeks and this method insures nothing slips through the cracks! I also take the added step of notating when all the bills are due in my planner just in case...if I don't write it down it doesn't get done! Excellent as always...love!
BriaAsAMom girl if I don't write things down I will forget! Hahaha! Love you and hope you're staying cool!
And let me guess you dont contribute financially at all
@@southernbelle2478 …8 years later, why do you care?

This video is terrific. Very informational but so easy to use and best of all it does not require a computer to use it .
Love it!!🎉
I enjoyed this video :) I thought I was the only one who did it simple like that.
Brandi's Paradise Thank you! I have personally only met 1 other person that does it my way. Most people I know just pay bills as they come in and don't keep a "log" of it. With my #mombrain I have to do it this way or I will completely space out on some bills. I realized too just now that we also pay a monthly water bill ($150-200/mo) Oops! See, there is my mom brain! :-)
Great Video! We are so oddly similar its eery! I do mine the exact same way.
RockinMama thank you love! Yes we really are 2 peas in a pod!!
Thanks for this, so helpful.
You are so very welcome, thanks for watching!
will you do an updated video of this and include how you budget for groceries gas etc?
Best way ever..thanks for sharing
Thanks Cathy!
I have been doing this for years, it is the only way I can keep track and make sure that Bill's are paid first ... I have a monthly calendar book that I have all our Bill's written down in and then I use pen and notebook the same way you do and I cant inagine doing it any other way
Gotta love simple, effective methods! I did the written bill pay/budget for about 6 years until last year we starting doing it in Google Sheets (Google's version of Excel). Actually, we do our entire budget in google sheets with bills, groceries, gas, etc for every pay period. My husband is in IT though and he thoroughly enjoys playing with it and making it easier for us (links to the website we pay on, etc). But that's just what works for us! I still love old school too! :)
***** that's awesome that your husband enjoys it! If I left the bills up to my husband we'd be in trouble! He likes that I run our household, he just enjoy bringing home the money! Haha! Thanks for watching! xoxo
GradysMom Bahahaha! Yes, we would be too! We always do the budgets together but I'm definitely the bill payer! ;)
Great idea
Kim Reddick thanks girly! I've been on my own (meaning out of my parents house) since I was 18 and back then I literally didn't even open my bills. I was SO irresponsible. I seriously didn't really get my act together til I was about 23! This was is super easy and keeps me in check :) Thanks for watching!
Do you have any more budget videos? Like how you manage your other expenses and keep track? I'm interested to try this method
Thank you
Thanks for sharing!!!
This helps me a lot. School refused to teach us this so I decided to do research myself. My next thing i'm gonna search is "How do I help me depressed/Suicidal friend?" Please tell me more useful things to do research on I really would like to know more than school shows us.
My husband keeps track of our money stuff in Quicken, but honestly...this looks like it might be easier. Thanks for the idea!
thebigfatwhitecat I am not good with spreadsheets and computer programs, so this is easy for me! Thanks for taking the time to watch & comment!!
an excellent video!
literally the only helpful video i could find.
thanks~ ♥
Lol thanks Jenna!!!

Thank You so much
I do my bills pretty much the same. I have a notebook that I write what's due, when it's due and how much. I think it's a lot easier for me to keep track
+Crystal Kitchen same here girl!
I think I'm going old school pen and paper now! Thanks for sharing
angelagaby1 well atleast give it a shot. You never know, you might find it easier :)
Thanks, helped get more organised
Thank you for watching!
Can you do a full budget with everything included ? Gas groceries miscellaneous etc.. and also a follow up on the cash envelope system? I love budget videos
Soccer Man Yes & Yes! Working on putting those together!
Thank you very simple the way show how you do your bills. Thanks
Thanks for this video I’m going to try your method ... if you don’t get paid enough to pay some of those bills in one week how would i go about doing that? And if your husband is still driving so much miles please tell him to get a Tesla , it’s going to save you guys a lot of money
I like this...I have had a lot of my bills on auto draft over the years and I dont like it. You get complacent and sometimes dont even know how much is going out or coming in...I want to start paying everything every month so that I know where every penny is at.
I still use this method today!
nice video that's the way I keep track of my bills. I know what I make and I know what my basic bills are per month plus savings .cant go wrong with that just pen and papper to keep it together. you be supprized how many people don't keep track of there bills .they cant tell you what there bills are per month. good video
I agree Gordon. To each their own, but this old school way works best for me and holds me accountable too. Enjoy your week!
I prefer to take care of my bills like that too, that's the easiest way! Tfs
RemixMC3 Awesome! And yes so easy since you can just glance and know what's due. Thanks for watching!!
very informative
Thank you so much for watching!
I am going to start doing this method.
You should give it a try, it really works out well for me, and has for many years. Have a great day!
If I get paid weekly n literally pay a apt n stuff how do I even know what I can spend to go out like to eat or with friends n stuff what if I spend 8.66 cents or more that I needed n ended up short
I use almost the same is easy and going by due date starting 1st thru 30th. Makes a big difference.🙉🙊
Honestly yes!!!
Great idea for a video my friend! I like this idea. I write all my payment info on the bill but keeping it together in one notebook would be so much easier!
ashleekate12 thanks my friend! I'm all about keeping it as simple as I can! Hope you guys have a very Happy 4th!
If You're Struggling to Pay Your Bills. Do This, Strategy How to Pay Off a Debt Fast
czcams.com/video/Cj_sqsvu9Ug/video.html
Very helpful! I need to try this. I used to use online bill pay which was all electronic with reminders but that won't work for me anymore.
Diana Ozbey I've tried the online bill pay but it just didn't work as well for me, maybe this simple way would work for you?
Definitely going to try this method. :)
I waste so so so much money wtf i write down the big bills and the rest just comes out and when it does i put a check mark next to each bill
This was a great method
Thank you, still using it today!
I am a pen and paper budgeter as well. In fact I'm working on our budget now while my hubby is grilling! ☺ I wish we got paid once a week, we get paid monthly. Drives me crazy!
Jazmine Mannery My husband used to get paid every 2 weeks and I much prefer the weekly check, especially since we use the cash envelope system for food/gas. I love the old school pen & paper :) Thanks for your comment! :)
With “mom brain” , me has no kids hahaha! THANK YOU I REALLY HOPE THIS WORKS FOR ME. I’m horrible with bills and keeping track.
I struggle with finding a user friendly way of tracking bills. Love this idea. Are you still using this method? Would love an update video
Yes still using this exact method!
I'm a pen and paper girl too, so much easier (for me anyway) to stay on top of the bills and pay what needs to be paid each month!!
Blanche P yep, gotta love the good old pen & paper! Simple but effective! :-)
I do it that way too
Jesus stop giving the disclaimer. WE KNOW IT IS YOUR WAY AND IT IS WHAT WORKS FOR YOU. THATS WHY WE ARE WATCHING YOUR VIDEO!!!
Great video! Have you ever thought about using a mobile bill tracking/bill payment solution? I would recommend Mint.
Hi, thanks! I haven't considered that bc I find the old school way of writing it all out works best for me, and holds me accountable. Thanks for the recommendation!
I do something similar. Hubby gets paid twice a month so I just break everything down based on what is owed for that pay period. That way I know what is left over for groceries, gas, etc. I don't do dates since I pay everything electronically as soon as we get paid but I might start making the due dates just so I know.
Oh and I wanted to add that I would love to see more budget videos. I love learning new ways to manage money.
Ana Ingold Ok thanks! I am already working on some different ideas for new video concepts based on how we budget for non-bills. (Clothing, family outings, savings etc) Love hearing from you!
Great video
Thank you so much!
old school perfection
lets say rent is 1000 a month due on the first. is it better to take money from each pay check throughout the month? so lets say 250 from 4 paychecks then pay it? or is it best to maybe split the 1,000 inbetween just two pay checks at the end of the month then pay it????
Justin Jarvis if I were you, I'd try both ways to see what feels more comfortable. Good luck
Simple but it works👍🏾
Sometimes the simple things work the best, thanks for watching!
I do this same way... except that I do it on the phone. 👍
My girlfriend left after 10 years and did all the bills, so I am kind of nervous. So I’m going to watch your video again. So thanks for the help. I just have mortgage and gas electric car ins. Cable and cellphone. So thank you
You got this!!!
Around what time of the month to do you plan nexts months bills
I honestly pay bills weekly, since my husband gets paid once a week.
Hello! I know this is an old video but I have a couple questions! Is there someway I can message you!?
Great ideas! Why don’t you include car gas and food and misc.?
HI thanks! Honestly I didn't even think to--this video was filmed a long time ago. We spend about $500/mo on gas. My husband commutes 40-50 miles each way to work M-F. We also live a bit rurally, so it takes some driving to get to places we frequent. We spend $600 ish a month on groceries/household supplies. And misc varies from month to month.

I’m a kid I’m just preparing for my future.
hi, are you still doing this? its a fresh look. I need to work on this.
Hi! Yes I am, and I plan to continue for a long time. It holds you accountable and keeps you organized :)
I don’t have a water bill cause that’s included in my rent. I just have an electric , phone and cable bill.
Yay that's great!
do you use your credit card every month or is it for special occasions. Since you pay it off in full which is AWESOME by the way, do you budget for that payment or do you use money from savings to pay it off? Also, i am in the hunt for a great credit card with perks. can you do a video on the types of cards you have and if they have any good cash back rewards/rates. etc?
J GAMING Hi! We don't use our credit card every month. We used to do that for years and it ended up resulting in quite a bit of credit card debt. We actually paid off all of our credit card debts when we sold our house in NY last year. Otherwise if we hadn't done that we'd probably still have some cc debt now. We use it for our family vacation each year, sometimes at Christmas, & when we travel to New York to see our family. For the past year we've been paying it off in full, but previously years back we were not able to always pay it off in full. Sometimes we budget for paying it off in full & sometimes we take it from our savings to pay it. It varies depending on the amount we need to pay off. I'm not really one for perks or rewards programs on credit cards, so I'm not the best person to make a video on that. However I will say I have had credit cards for many years & I really like Discover cards for their low rates and American Express as well (also their low rates) I know rates do vary based on certain factors but we've had really good luck with Amex & Discover cards. Thanks for taking the time to watch!
Updated one please xoxo
Goal Setter
I second that, would love to see an updated video.
