Wow this is the first time I’ve seen this gymnast, I’m really impressed! She has the potential to be a really great all-around gymnast, she just need to polish up some of her routines! Her DTY is high and flighty, her dismount on bars look beautiful, the height she gets on her beam elements is sky high (esp the layout), and she has a lot of power on floor and points her toes when she tumbles! Super excited to see what she’ll do in the future
I’m really pulling for this girl, I’ve been eyeing her for awhile now. I believe in my heart she’s an Olympian. Especially if she hits that beam the way I know she’s capable of doing. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Chinese are beam experts. her bars are interesting for Chinese gymnasts; with the chusovitina and loads of Weiler kips. seems as if it's probably a weak event for her, however, there is so much room for upgrades. She's obviously an asset on so many other events; vault, floor, and beams (despite the fall). super difficult beam set. looks fairly strong on all events. the floor is looking super strong and controlled
Qi Qi is stronger than the average Chinese gymnast. Her BB and UB are amazing, with much room for upgrades, but she actually "hits" the VT springs and doesn't struggle with three dbl backs! Take this girl to Tokyo!
Maybe she will go as individual. Her beam is impresive, her vault is good. Floor nothing special, so many girl can outscore her, and her bars is so weak. Her speciality is beam and Chinese have so many girl that is great on beam.

I think when the gymnast falls on the beam itself, the deductions are only 0.5. And I guess the second big wooble was a 0.3 one. So anyway she would have gotten a really big score.
Tbh falling ON the beam should be a -1 deduction. From cop: . If she had just grabbed the beam then -0.5. Judges were quite generous on beam (Ou near 7 E score, don't remember if 6.933 or 6.966, with two falls and other small errors) so who knows.

her roundoff + layout never fails to amaze me. she's so solid on it every time and always gets the split jump connection.
She has NO RINGS in her beam routine. And she has like 6.5 D score. Al Fong take notes.
Her routine is actually a 7.0 with every connection attempted.
He will never take notes because he supposes he knows better. A shame because it means Kara is missing out on her opportunity :(

She didn’t fall off the beam so I think it was only like five tenths off not a full point
They didn’t take a full point, it was 0.5 for the fall. And remember, was a little overscored.

Her bars are so different than her teammates. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the Chinese do Weilers.

No they actually counted it as a badly deducted korbut and not a back handspring so she technically never got credited for a fall
