    The Poles actually did conquer Moscow and they occupied it for two years, between 1610 and 1612. After two years Russian forces managed to besiege the Kremlin and eventually threw out Polish garnison. Since 2005 this event is commemorated as one of the Russian national holidays, known as National Unity Day.

      Actually, Russian forces besieged Poles after 4 month. Poles entered Moscow in November 1610 without a fight and since March 1611 to January 1612 were locked inside the Kremlin.
