Some of them have a delay, probably improvised hand grenades. Better to use them with impact detonators, but I assume they have lots of unused hand grenades available.
@@rudiklein I think it would actually be a good tactic to uses some duds just to scare them. A dead soldier is just dead, but a scared one ruins the morale of the rest.
I think it would do more harm to the enemy to just add some drops with duds that carry a message like: "This could have been the end of your life. The next one will be live."

Funny enough, Germany found in ww2 that bomb that didn't go off were much more terrifying than bombs that did because the tension they bring causes much more widespread panic than bombs that went off, as they were no longer a concern, but bombs that didn't just stayed there, they could go off in a few seconds, minutes, hours, maybe never, but you just didn't know, that causes widespread fear.

I like the detail of having the "feathers" (tail fins) of the grenades coloured as per the Ukrainian flag - blue and yellow. The Russians know they are fighting an illegal and unjust war and should simply pack up and go home.

I love the painted tail fins on our bombs, It's poetic, although I kinda feel bad for those young men and women killed in action, and their family. This a senseless war started by one man, OH sorry he's not a man, he is the biggest coward in history.

The long delay to detonation really makes these bombs very less effective.
Not all grenades dropped are armed. A few are duds on purpose for 3 reasons:
1. Psychological Warfare
2. Less weight=more things to drop.
3. Flushing troops and counting infantry. Good if there's a ground assault coming.
Plus, if you can see where they run after, artillery can be zero'd in in their new position.
Hmmmm... but if they first kill 'm they won't have to count 'm. Or find their new positions.
@@dutchreagan3676 Few commercial drones are large enough to carry more than 2 explosives to drop. But can carry many more non-explosive canisters.
From listening to the intercepted Russian phone calls, they are terrified of the drones.
If they were 100% deadly they would be less terrifying. But to have one drop near you and go off just after you cleared the area, that's a nightmare. You'll never sleep again.
And when someone asks you what time it is, you will blab about drones. If someone asks you if you have vodka, you will blab about drones.
You will never not stop talking about drones until you're killed by a drone. And then everyone will remember your fear and what killed you. Now your fear is in them.
Plus these are the videos we can see on youtube. They don't allow graphic violence.

Should be doing this from a higher altitude or have the pin pulled a lot earlier because these are giving everyone plenty of time to realize and run off to non fatal distances if they’re even hit at all. All the other grenade drop clips I’ve seen are basically exploding within a second of hitting.

I saw a video on reddit of one of these hit right next to a sleeping Russian's head. Yeah, one of those. It blew away most of his face. It was as if a really hot spade scooped part of his head out. He was flailing with his arms for a bit, before he fell backwards and died. He obviously couldn't see, and due to the likelihood of shock, didn't feel any pain. Imagine seeing the video before you attempt to sleep for the night in those fox holes. What a way to go. Like a open can of meat, already in a custom grave fit for size.

small bombs, like grenades, usually go boom without a lot of "fire and smoke". sometimes these dont go off, especially if they dont hit something hard. thats why leftover ordinances om the battlefield are so dangerous for civilians long after the troops are gone.

Unless they are making due with what they have. Why are they using time delayed fuses, either use impact fuses or set the delay to 1-2 seconds. Those 4-5 second fuses allows them to take cover or move away.

The whistle is good, but you don't really want a whistle. It's like the Vietcong in the night. They make a couple of noises early on and go to bed, meanwhile the Americans, Aussies and other stay up all night nervously and are a wreck at pre dawn when the real assault happens. Someone at NERF should send a truckload of blue and yellow footballs over to Ukraine so they can start dropping those too. Sometimes it's a harmless piece of foam. Other times... 💥
I guess they can set them to detonate on impact, but if you have ever seen how these are loaded to a drone and armed, you would not want "impact detonation" as a fumble or accident could very easily happen if one were dropped. So, it's my understanding that they have to spin in order to arm. When fired from a tube, the rifling makes them spin. But when dropped from the air, the fin design is canted to create spin. Dropping them from too low means they don't have time to spin up and they seem like a dud then.
they probably act like airplane bombs and have a pin thats removed once loaded. The delay fuse is most beneficial because it means the bombs dont blow up in the tops of trees anymore and can instead penetrate down into the foxholes where the enemy actually is

they need to stick with the impact bombs instead of the 3D printed shells that hold granades. it seems they don't work very well because sometimes it will not open and release the pin. the impact ones go off immediately and have way higher probability of taking out targets. the new 3D printed shells aren't too good in my opinion. but that's just my opinion. they may work just as well psychologically on the targets.
