Psychology goes to the extreme of blaming all of the clients problems on their upbringing, but some Christians go to the other extreme of ignoring the way the person grew up. Sin is sin, but the way it manifests itself in the individuals life can have a lot to do with how that person was raised. To ignore that only causes frustration and heartache.
The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore. (Psalms121:8 ESV)
