Its more accurate to say they are gathering pressure rather than calming down. In the case of taal when its not erupting yet its showing activity the way it is now, means that its most likely priming itself like a bomb. You should stay far away.

The thing is, there a possibility that Taal ITSELF (the lake as the caldera) would explode; hindi lang yung maliit na crater or Binintiang Malaki.

Some people are saying that they need to go back to their homes because it is already calm, like wtf? They really dont understand the fact that it may still explode anytime. Im tired of explaining it to them
people should not be complacent, Krakatoa and even Pinatubo went silent for awhile before the big explosion. Krakatoa went silent for 3 months before it’s devastating explosion. Specially because earthquakes and fissures are showing up.
You may want to watch a video of my theory of Taal being a super volcano. The physical signs are there. The dried up caldera/main crater is an indication that magma is nearing the surface.
Aside from the caldera there are a lot of vents/craters around it and mountains in the surrounding areas, cracks on land. These are openings where lava might flow.
And aside from the caldera, the lake around it is so big and water is receding. An indication of magma movement underground. This might have huge amount of lava in case of eruption and tsunamis are imminent. The super massive crater just means the range is wide. This is very very very dangerous. Please listen and pay attention to the physical changes on ground. You are given time to evacuate and please evacuate all the animals. Please.

The last recorded VEI or intensity is 4. If my theory is right of Taal being a super volcano, the intensity will only get higher. Probably around more or less VEI 6. This is a high probability so extreme precautions must be followed. Prepare everyone. It's better to be prepared. Save everyone and the animals please.

Well, that should have been ALWAYS a No man's land from the start.... That's should have been considered a Reservation Protected Area....... Why would Local government zoned it with community..... Stupid local government..... Land Use should be managed by national government.....
Yan nga dapat ang gawin, kaso lang if ever na maging STRICT ang LGU jan, people (those who live in the island) will protest. People will always say "anjan ang kabuhayan namin, kung ililipat kami, mawawalan kami ng hanapbuhay". And then some militant groups (usually from left-far left political spectrum) will stand up against the LGU para payagan ang mga tao na manirahan sa Taal Volcano.
to be fair it officially was, but unofficially it wasn't enforced, all those villages on taal island itself (main vent) are illegal settlements. I'm sure a local could tell you better, I'm just a dirty American from New Jersey wieghing in.

I'm sorry but it seems it's only gathering force. The last eruption since 1965 had the volcano calm & quiet for 2 weeks and the gov't asked the locals to come back since it's already "safe." Big mistake. It erupted at 2 am without signs of earthquake or steam.

sorry but that calm is fooling. Lots of volcanoes have the same characteristics where they stay silent before the big explosion. The earthquakes and fissures are a big indication that it’s not well underground.

Miguel pojanes There are big big boulders in Alabang, in the vacant lots along Corporate Ave, where they do dirt biking and street bike. And I was told before from family there that those boulders were studied by geologists and said that they spewed from Taal a long long time ago! And the question there is now, can the whole caldera, the big lake, erupt? - Joan D.
@@marianodiaz8987 yes, sabi rin ng kakilala kong Geologist na ngayon ay nagii-specialize na sa seismology at volcanology na maraming malalaking bato sa Southern Metro Manila ay nagmula sa pagsabog ng taal thousands of years ago (forgot the specific date). Noon kasi isang higanteng bulkan ang Taal at nung nag erupt nung time na yun, talagang it sent huge chunks of the volcano's debris flying in all directions, reaching as far as southern Metro Manila area. What's left from that eruption ay yung open caldera which is its former magma chamber at sa bandang taas nun ay ngayon kinakatayuan na ng Tagaytay city.
