    after being disappointed with the peak design messenger, I bought the DNA 15 and fell in love with it. I just bought the 11 now for when I carry less gear. Fantastic products

      hey i am stuck between 13 and 15 inch. can u help me out deciding? my purpose of the bag is: daily use (mostly as a camera bag for outdoor shoot), a Fuji X-T10 with attached 18-55 lens, 2 other lens (1 prime, 1 zoom), 1/2 flashes, 1 remote flash trigger, ND filters etc accessories AND a foldable reflector. Can u please suggest will it be too big (15 inch DNA)for me as I am a 5.5" person. Thanks in advance.

    A camera bag really needs to be used well before a decent review can be given... how well did Steve use this? The tags are still on it.

    I Just picked up the DNA 8 yesterday and I'm already more then pleased with it. It's a bit smaller them the 11, but fit's my compact mirrorless gear quite nicely.

    Shoulder pad appears to be on backwards...

    Great review, I've been trying to decide between the 8 and 11 for my A7 but didn't have a good perspective on size; this made it clear. Most brands seem to overrate what their bags can hold, I think this is way underrated.

      G Man Just checked both of them out at B&H today actually. While on paper it doesn't seem much of a difference, the 11 is considerably larger. For the A7, definitely go for the DNA 11. I have a micro four thirds and fitting a Panasonic GX7 with kit lens sideways takes up just about half the space. I could still fit a second micro four thirds body, and 2-3 more lenses with some wiggle room left over to batteries/charger/cards/etc and a tablet. But it's always best to check out forums and examples of what people keep inside them. Camera bags are very deceiving on the outside. They can fit an incredible amount of camera gear.

      mamba109 Thanks for the response. I was actually looking for a smaller bag that would hold just the a7 with an attached 24-70, and maybe another prime or two; more of a daily carry bag. Do you think this bag is still too small for that? The 11 looks much larger, I have a Domke F2 and some Lowepro bags if I need to haul a lot of gear. I'm not sure how the GX7 compares with the a7 size wise.

      G Man Oh then that should definitely fit. I'm thinking about the DNA 8 too. It's the perfect size for every day carrying and going out with your friends without feeling like you're going to work. DNA 11 feels like you're bringing office stuff with you all the time, just puts you in a different mindset. Just a quick edit, I'm not sure about A7 size either, but I'm guessing its roughly around same size as Fuji XT1? You can check out some forum posts on Fuji forums, its a pretty popular bag over there, nothing but praises.

    I think this is the DNA 13, ain't it? Because the specs in Tenba website suggests that 11 can accommodate a 11 inch laptop or an iPad. And u also showed a 13 inch laptop fit into your bag easily. How's that possible? Thanks for the review though.

    Hahaha billingham bags. Well I can say I have a couple tenbas and they are in fact great bags! I dont find they look cheap. Billinghams look and work like a kids lunch sack. Great review as always... thanks

    i saw this bag on display at B&H and it DOES NOT look or feel cheap in person. in my opinion it was probably the best looking bag they had there. and they have hundreds on display.

    Steve, how do you compare Tenba DNA 11 with Think Tank Retrospective 5/7 that you reviewed a year ago?

  • @GuiCha
    @GuiCha Před 10 lety

    On Tenba's site they say the DNA 11 holds an 11" mba. I'm looking to buy a DNA bag but need to know if the DNA holds a MacBook pro for sure.

  • @DrewHopper
    @DrewHopper Před 9 lety +6

    Your review is misleading. I recently purchased the Tenba DNA 11 and it DOES NOT fit a 13" Macbook Pro (not comfortably at least, its a tight squeeze and compresses the camera compartment which is useless in my opinion.

      Tai Ngo Buy the DNA13, that one is made for a 13", I have got one and fits a 13" fine...

      Drew Hopper they do a 13 version but he don't mention it, the messenger mini canvas is bigger than this and cheaper. he uses the word probably fit a 13" very misleading

    • @stefpix
      @stefpix Před 8 lety

      +jackodon74 you can buy 2.5 messenger mini bags for less than a DNA bag. I like the DNA but the old Messenger is a lot more comfortable. I would just buy the new Tenba strap with shoulder pad (the strap that comes with the DNA) and use it on the Messenger mini. way better deal and a lot more comfortable on your back. You give up the rain cover and some improvements, but it is easier to carry. The Messenger Small has a camera insert that is removable, making the bag a lot larger than the mini, but allowing to carry just marginally more stuff. with the DNA11 which i also own it is hard to pull out the Macbook air from the compartment. it should be 1 or 2 cm wider. The DNA has the compression chest strap that is great for riding a bike or a scooter as it prevents the bag from sliding. My preference is for the old model but with the DNA strap, compression strap, rain cover.

    That bag looks cheap & ugly. There's no redeeming features. I'll stick with my Billingham bags, thank you!
