@@Blackadder75 one wo man

@@Blackadder75 hey Tumblr girl, he isn't saying that only men can do that, dipshit.
You can send Preston to other settlements. After taking the Castle, I usually station him there, because it makes sense to have him in the Minutemen HQ.
Azraelle You’re much nicer than me. I usually send him to some Far Harbor settlement that is desolate with no food, water, shelter, beds, well nothing and just let him sit in solitary.
At least it's not raining.
I’d send him to wherever the furthest settlement is from the commonwealth

I’ve got an entire settlement in tuxedos and red dresses, and armed with 44 snubbys. Very classy and deadly.
yeah I made something similar mixing the furry gang masks from nuka world and tuxedos, with a mk2 leather armor, and they are all equiped with fully automatic assult rifles that I myself upgrade and produce, and I also like having like 1 elite soldier on all my settlements, he is always equiped with power armor and a minigun, basically my settlements are impenetrable.

Exactly, i didnt even know that you can have that many power armor suits
I wasnt expecting it and you can buy frames from Arturo and pieces from atom cats
You can pickpocket the fusion core from power armored enemies, and then the power armor is usable. Or use a low dmg, high cripple/limb damage to VATS the fusion core, without killing the user, then he abandons the armor. I have about 100 power armors distributed among about 8 settlements.
@@CaboHitman Yeah, you can pickpocket the cores, but unless you're modding the game conciders using them to be stealing. Because... reasons.
@@LifesGuardian yeah, but it's mostly irrelevant. Most of the power armor present in the game belong to raiders or the BoS. Unless you're siding with the BoS, which eliminates that option, you can still take the cores from raiders with almost no penalty. Some followers might not like it, but none will hate it so much that become hostile, unless you're already on that verge.

@@josevladimiraustria2736 same but it can be a bit awkward to build on
@@generalmolotovv why is that?
@@josevladimiraustria2736 Kingsport Lighthouse is pretty rad too. Don't hear many people talking about it. It just has a cool vibe to it with the boathouse, the lighthouse and right on the oceanfront.
I actually also like Tenpines Bluff, County Crossing, Sunshine Tidings and Nordhagen Beach. The latter I made to be some Tropical Beach that also has Palm Trees and a Bamboo Bar Shack. 😅
Favorite thing about Hangman’s alley?
Attackers need to funnel into small areas that can be loaded with turrets/proximity traps to turn them into kill zones.
I definitely like it from an RP standpoint. My version has it staffed by ex-Raiders, ex-Gunners, ex-Diamond City guards, and a few civilians like Matthew kept around as a doctor, or a few others to tend crops (Kaylee and Layla I think) but, it took me a few tries, and I don't like Hangman's Alley because:
- Has constant Mutant vs DCity Guards 2 blocks south.
- Enemies that spawn and get stuck in the tunnel 1 block south.
- For me, when the settlement is attacked the enemies spawn perfectly IN the central plaza!
- Rust Devils everyday 2 blocks east.
- Frequently crashes when I walk up from Vault 81 or whatever
- Frequently crashes during loading when I fast travel there.
- Frequently crashes just milling about there.
- Oh, and if you save at or near Hangman's Alley, kiss that file goodbye because it will refuse to even load from the main menu.
Hangmans alley is just too small for my taste
I kind of just like Hangman's Alley because I managed to actually make an intricate layout in that really limited space and I feel like a boss for it. Got gardening on scaffolds, crisscrossing ladders, balconies over the entrances... I specifically like the fire escapes and having an easy way to get on the roofs. You honestly don't need that much room to have high resources; It's beds and shops that take up space more than anything.
Least favorite thing is the height limit.
Oh, and I leave the doors locked.

@@tomm1109 mine are more than the pre-built shacks but I still try and maintain some semblance of in-universe logic.
I hate stairs too. At most I make 2 floors and roof access for turrets
One weird problem with Spectacle Island is the supply lines. Because of how the provisioners work, and the fact that its an island, your provisioners will actually walk along the sea bed to reach the mainland. Oddly, they won't drown from doing this, but they can (and often will) die from the radiation they'll take while under the water, meaning you have to assign a ghoul or robot to do run the supply lines
Assign a robot.

Easily the best place to setup shop is the Starlight Drive-In. You have a small puddle you can use for water and a big open flat spot to build, plus you have a merchant a short walk away and you can get there within 10 minutes or so after leaving the Vault.
Agreed. Its also not too far away from Abernathy Farm, which I use as my main Corn + Tato + Mutfruit farm.
A quick sprint back and forth and you'll be able to make plenty of Adhesive.
DeScruff or you can set up your farm on the backside of the dinner. Or just use mods like everyone else to get everything you need.
Well yeah I do have a farm at Starlight, just saying its a quick run to Abernathy is you need even more.
- I also have Sim Settlements, so I usually run to Abernathy Farm to make even more booze then I already can at Starlight.
Starlight makes for a great village Settlement. You can get 40-80 water from the 'puddle' via Water Purifiers and the nice flat areas allow you to slap down shops and shacks as you see fit. I'll usually place some Barn presets together too for a sort of sleeping hall. Materials are easy to get for the reason you mentioned, as Trudy and [sometimes] Carla are at the Diner across the way. If you're lucky Gene or the Brahmin lady will spawn at the campfire north the Settlement, allowing you to get extra resources that way.
I scrapped the water, because I thought that was the only way to get rid of radiation :( (before I scrapped all the drums with nuclear waste) So now I am stuck with an empty hole of concrete in a sea of concrete
I wished university point could have been a settlement to unlock.
Starlight drive in is the best it has a giant supply of steel while I really need to make my sanctuary city
Sean's Here I Turned my Starlight drive-in into "Starlight City"® it is like Diamond city, Lore and Role play wise, settlers can check in and live there and I act as mayor, we even have our own Basket ball court the "Starlight stealers"® this is all trademarked by me.

Eli Drew I’m not even allowed there as I shot someone and I didn’t want to kill them as am a good person I just banished my self

I made hangmans alley into a base for the mafia
That isn't a half bad idea...
I only use red rocket as a player home 😂
Red Rocket is such a beautiful settlement if done right to
Yes - you can build massive structures on top of the Red Rocket itself and it looks fantastic.
I use it as a player home or just put all my companions there.
Player "home" is something unfamiliar to survival players.
I used the castle for my command base
Something you didn't mention about Graygarden is that you can build on a segment of both levels of the overpass. It's a very defensible position for human settlers and even has dirt for crops and water pumps. Plus, it's a settlement that can be built on a freakin' overpass, man!
I really like Nordhagen Beach. You can add tons of Water Purifiers; there’s plenty of Farmland and enemies attack from a limited area.
It’s definitely my most chill and beautiful settlement, I always line the shore with campfires and have a aesthetically similar look to a beach legate camp. Since it’s in an important proximity of the prydwn it seems like a good battle vantage point esp when they didn’t even bother to capture fort strong

Same here, apart from building. Mine is turned into a multi-level complex village and still is my go-to resupply/switch companions/store loot base after 300+ hrs of gameplay.

Expect I love history.
I use it as a recruitment center. 2-3 permanent settlers and everyone else gets equipment sent somewhere else.
The mod Clean and Simple really helps make these settlements even more useful, since they clear out a lot of the crap and make the building areas bigger, plus it lets you scrap ALL of Sanctuary's houses.
One of my favorites, plus it gets rid of all or most of the shrubbery.
@@adriuspengramic9630 I like the shrubberies as long as they’re nice and not too expensive

@@201hastings Excuse me but were you saying 'Ni' to that old woman?
Why would you want to get rid of your own house you monster.
Most of we Survivalists use Hangman's Alley from as early on in the game as possible. It's close to Diamond City, as close to downtown as possible, and it is VERY close to CIT/Institute so you can use the Relay to fast travel and not waste as much time using Vertibirds to travel elsewhere. You can easily build vertically in the Alley using the roof of the premade building in the corner you can place a floor tile and build a second floor then either use an elevator or staircase to go up a floor. You can go a few feet from the top of the buildings surrounding the Alley so there is ALOT more space than most realize. It is the single most important settlement in Survival. If you use this Settlement DO NOT unchain the door atop The stairs or Unlock the red door. This will keep enemies from being able to enter forcing them to come in through the main entrance.
My Alley:
First floor- Premade unscrappable shacks, crafting benches, small farm.
Second Floor- Beds, Living quarters, recreation area.
Third Floor- Happiness room (Weight room, TV room, Scavanging station), marketplace.
Fourth Floor- Happiness. Lots and lots of happiness. Weight benches, Slot machine, Trilby horse, barber, surgery center from Vault Tec and lots of Lv4 bars from base game.
I always unchain the door because enemies literally never attack
Armsauce They spawned near the back for me mostly at first but now they ONLY spawn at the front gate. I was always afraid they would loop around from the back and hit me from the side but I later found out there appearantly isn't a spawn point there anyway and they very rarely Pathfind their way to the side.
Sevier County Skeptic I hate hangman because there is so little space for farming soil.
Phoenix Private you know about the extra land outside the door right? It took me a while to notice but there's plenty of room for crops there.
Monsterbird Nation thanks for this info. I never thought about building up in the alley. Gonna start a new playthru now bc of this. Really.
I like the castle but hate fixing the walls because its hard
+Kieran Jones There's a mod that gives you wall replacements.
Kieran Jones I would love to just have the option to repair them, instead of carefully and neatly stacking cement blocks.
Mr. Whiskers true

Ernie Velveeta really, if its free I'll have to check it out
My favourite is Hangman's Alley for sure. Capping out the Settlers and sending them all (except necessary ones) to various other settlements creates way more activity in the Boston area, almost like an upgraded Bunker Hill half-way settlement for traders and travellers alike.
Only problem is that building can be finnicky given the really low vertical building limit and small building area.
"Has problems with simple mods that allow you to scrap more things" "Is absolutely ok with putting a giant water purifier in small puddle that has been exposed to mass radiation 5 seconds ago" my brain is confused..
That's why it's called a purifier.
It's in the game not a mod
Actually I do that too, I have two industrial and two normal purifiers inside the lake in starlight

Poopy McFartass ye boi. Also, it looks pretty cool. Looks like some sort of massive reactor is in the middle of my settlement.
“You don’t have to deal with Preston Garvey” Me: GImMe tHat setTtLEmeNt
All hail Emperor Preston, marker of maps, king of kings
@@jrjr648Do you happen to be Preston Garvey by any chance?
Taffington Boathouse is my personal favorite settlement, because you can set up a bunch of water purifiers up in rows, and create a water purification plant, and a player home for myself. I think it's great because if you access the settlement workshop, you can take the purified water from the purification plant and either sell it for tons of caps, or use it as a reliable source of healing.
Sanctuary Hills is still my number 1 spot. It is the best looking settlement location in the game. It has the best scenery of anywhere else in the game. It has the best looking river, surrounded by great looking and close proximity mountains that have fog build up on them. The small creek in the back is also an excellent feature. It overlooks a small town and has a second settlement location in very close proximity (Red Rocket). The streets and sidewalks really help to create a well organized environment that looks lived in. The flat foundations are perfect for designing any type of structure that you want. The access bridge to enter the town is extremely cool as well. I have the entire place walled off (it looks really realistic) without ruining the natural look or surrounding environment.
After you literally spend well over a hundred hours just designing it, you feel like its an actual living, breathing place, especially with all of the unique inhabitants that you can put in it.
There isn't any other settlement location in the game that has all of that going for it. My second choice is either Spectacle island (I have my airship settlement there, no I don't use mods, I literally built it myself from scratch) or The Castle (it has a lot going for it as well).
Abernathy Farm can build up really high, but its a really dingy looking place and only has large power poles to look at. It's terrible in the sense that you are really exposed for attacks, with no natural barriers and a considerable amount of brush surrounding it.
I hate sanctuary who would live on the same street they lived on when they saw nukes hit their city aha hangman’s alley all the way! Taffington boathouse has good scenery too and outpost zimonja some settlements r just perfect with 5-8 setttlers or companions and not 15 crammed into one
@@ds3ol706 kid
@@ds3ol706 hangmans alley is not as good as you might think
During my playthrough i discovered Sunshine Tidings co-op and i decided to make it a settlement. It's wide, full of beds and i think it was ideal for place for living. Only downside is that it only yas a Chemistry Station and a Cooking Station. The rest had to build myself but undil then it was a real drag traveling back and forward to mod my gear
I'll go to every settlement just to scrap everything and get materials.
You know that you can build on the overpass in Graygarden? ;)
Nodoga. On the contrary. Settlers will spawn up there. If you've ever had the population count say that there are more settlers than you can find. . .they will be up there. They walk from the East and find, I think it's a chair, and just sit up there. So, if you put stairs leading up there, they can at least walk down whenever they feel like it. Also, with how settlers spawn upon your arrival, they can randomly spawn up there.
Nodoga dude I build my entire settlement up there including apartments and businesses and leave the farming to the bots its a pretty sizable area
You can build stairs or use the elevators from the dlc.
Lol isn't there already a lift there? I don't think it's part of any of my kids look near some of the rocks by the edge I had a yellow lift
I always include the overpass in my settlement, though I typically just put my workbenches etc on the overpasses and build the main building with the beds, bars, etc adjacent so that the roof of the building leads right onto the lower overpass.
Another advantage of Hangman's Alley is that it is close to the CIT. In Survival mode (where fast travel is disabled), you can teleport into the Institute, then teleport out to the CIT. Then Hangman's Alley will be a short walk away.
This and the “Worst Settlements” made me super nostalgic for Fallout 4. I’m definitely going to start playing this again! Thank you!
How could you not mention Sunshine Tidings?!
That's my spot too. I just ran power across all the bulldings and turned the side shed into a bar. Then I set mysef up in the middle. It's easy to defend and didn't require me to build it up a lot
Templine bluff is god tier for a settlement
I surrounded the most of Sunshine Tidings with a wall, and connected all buildings with a power grid, too. The huge side barn/shed is where I lured those goddamn nose-panting, irritating Brahmins.
@Sean Clark isn't post-apocalypse about searching for opportunities and using you luck, though?
same . I ended up making a huge tower , better than diamond city in there.
Pro-tip on Grey Garden, you can build up on the Highway overpass. It's a PITA to get up there (I use a 4 story Elevator sitting on Foundations) and it glitches a bunch when building up there but it's a cool little extra place that I doubt any NPC's are capable of attacking.
Grey Garden is most always my "home base", and I usually use the bus on the lower level of the overpass as my private "domain". I also make it the central "hub" for all of my supply lines (or as many as the game will allow!), and I use Automatron bots as the "caravaneers" for these supply lines...
A small problem with using those bots is that, on occasion, due to a known bug, those highly specialized "tank bots" I build for that purpose are reset back to stupid "protectron"- type bots with all default settings, which then need to be revamped back to the desired state once this has happened. I think it's a small price to pay for the greater convenience and power of bot caravaneers, that are much more capable than ANY human version would be!!! Autolasers on both right and left arms, and the strongest possible armor are especially powerful for this purpose, and these bots put up a great fight against practically ANY enemies.
As an aside, I would also mention that (I think) some don't realize the full "scope" of the Hangman's Alley settlement, which includes the TUNNEL and CANAL, as well as a portion of the "walkway" along the Charles river! I, for the longest time, didn't realize that these were in fact "buildable" areas in the settlement, extending the area quite a bit, and I was at first only utilizing the area between the front and back access doorways for building! One day I realized my error, and since then I place turrets in the canal area, as well as in the area along the Charles river "walkway", as well!!! This makes defending the settlement much easier...
For me, the biggest issue with Sanctuary Hills is that for some reason you can only scrap SOME of the ruined houses. The rest are virtually unalterable junk you pretty much have to use as unlikely foundations for more useful structures.
Mods are the answer to all those problems
All of them??? (Me starts thinking about every problem I have in fallout 4) Well shit! It does fix all of them.
PS. I get the implication of those.
you don't need to send a human to reside in greygarden to set up a supply line. Just assign a supply line from any other settlement TO greygarden and it'll be supplied without having to move a human into it.
Robots can be provisioners
Correct on both counts. If a human provisioner is living a different settlement, their accomadations will be at the different settlement.
Automatrons can be assigned as provisioners, in my case, Supervisor McStuffCarry. Automatrons don't take jobs very well, except as guards. So my robot who's guardin' Graygarden is Supervisor McDeathMurder.
@@FuriousMaximum I made this comment before automaton came out. Now I have robotic murdercakes running stuff all around my settlements. :D. Not happy with sending the graygarden robots out. I had to make ridiculously powerful assaultrons and sentrybots to do it. Assaultrons are better but sentrybots are cooler looking. :)
7:26 You can fit two of those big industrial purifiers right at the edge of the water behind the overpass support column behind the main house. It's a pain but it will fit.
I love that moment when you are scrapping things inside Abernathy Farm and see how far the zone extends
I just realized this last night after im done putting a walls around the farm until the greenzone were nowhere to be seen near me.
Great list, I totally agree with you on your points. And, I had no idea Abernathy had such a huge ceiling. Very cool.

Very helpful , many thanks . I had no idea both of the farms had such build heights .
Look into the crop bug. Sometimes the crops at Abernathy Farm will be bugged, and that is a huge pain to correct!
And Finch Farm is fun to put a few rocket turrets at the very edge of the overpass closest to the junkyard. You have a clear line of sight to a few gunners that spawn there. They are within range and will get agroed if they get slash damage! I had a series of turrets up there and loved to watch them make their way over to the farm. They never made it past the tractor!
Playing on Survival Mode has given me a new appreciation for Oberland Station, and it was a shame not to see it get mentioned. It's easy to reach early in the game from Sanctuary without having to go through a lot of hostile areas, and it also has a mostly-unobstructed route east to reach Diamond City, making it a fantastic "waypoint" for traveling between Sanctuary and Diamond City without having to go through Lexington or College Square. On top of that, one of its two potential "unlock quests" is probably the best settlement unlock quest in the game for ease and reward, since it only requires you to clear Sunshine Tidings Co-Op of a handful of feral ghouls, and as a reward you get access to Oberland Farms *and* Sunshine Tidings *and* you get two automatic settlers at Sunshine Tidings.
While its build area is obnoxiously sloped and tiny in the vanilla game, and you probably aren't building a lot of high-population, aesthetically-pleasing cities here, for sheer Survival utility I've come to love and respect Oberland Station.
I must say i love Hangman's Alley. Love the small yet cozy feel to it. If i fancy a short quick playthrough i always pick Hangman's Alley
My favorite settlement is probably the most underrated settlement in the game. I forget what it’s called but it’s a lighthouse to the north east of I’m not mistaken. While there are 3 unscrappable buildings there, they’re quite useful for settlers. There’s also just enough space for a farm area and it being right by the water you can make purifiers. There is a little bit of room for housing and it’s and elevated location so you can put down some good defenses to your advantage. There is a spot within the settlement that’s a large drop off to a beach but if you can properly make use of it it’s useful. My favorite thing about this settlement is that you can build in the lighthouse. I have a sleeping quarters at the top of the lighthouse for myself and it’s generally just a cool player house. It’s hard to get electricity through it and to make use of the space but if you do I’m sure you’ll see it’s worth it. I also built a wall around the place which is also quite useful because super mutants and gunners often spawn there. Despite it being next to a raider settlement they don’t usually attack but I find fat mans and nuke grenades usually span there. There’s also nuke mines all around the place for the taking
My favorite too! Kingsport lighthouse
Yeah Abernathy Farm is a great place to build a mini city. I plan to make Hangman's ally a totally new building. I have a load of mods that can help me do this.
You can build an awkward walkway from spectical Island to the mainland using the build anywhere mod. I believe it gives you up to 5 workbenches to use. Definitely takes a while to build
I always found building in this game to be a little weird. I love it, I spend probably 10x longer building settlements than actually playing the game, but it's weird all the same. Being able to magically build a self-supporting staircase going up up up (some areas have massive build-ceilings) and then build whatever you want at the top? That's crazy. Even crazier if you put a fast travel target on your sky fortress and then scrap all the stairs. You now have a floating area that you can only reach by fast travel....it's nutso.
I made the starlight drive in a giant barn. As the main trading station for the game. Its directly in the middle between The Castle and Sanctuary Hills. The other bonus with it is that its right near diamond city. I thought of it as the best one for that purpose.
"Finch Farm: easy, all you have to do is defeat a zillion Forged. Starlite Drive-in: arrrgh, the door is boobytrapped."
Agreed, i have selected the same settlements with Spectacle Island as my main one. Sanctuary Hills is amongst my least favorite i guess, simply because there is a lot of stuff in the way. I never thought i would get into building when i started playing this game and it ended up being my favorite thing to do, while adding a little bit of a tower defense game. The only other place i loved to built at not being mentioned was the lighthouse, simply because of the romantic view it naturally has. Keep it up and have fun!
I built a nice settlement in Finch Farm on the highway. I liked the build and thought it was so unique being up on the highway. My biggest problem was that my settlers would fall through the bridge for no reason all the time. lol I even went as far as covering the holes but they still fell. It was a few years ago so maybe it's fixed. Who knows. Love the video!
Abernathy farm is defensively rather tactical: you can place lots of turrets to circle the roof, giving it an extreme self-defence firepower.
Fallout 4 is really DOPE!!
I subscribed
:D
New Vegas IS better.
Angel Maestas still the worst of the main Fallout games. I even hate calling it ‘Fallout’
Ok
Thanks for the tips on Finch and Abernathy Farms. I had no idea you could get that high.
I must be the only person who really likes that little house in diamond city, i stole the keys in my first playthrough and was relieved to find my own personal space where i didnt have to cater to my communities every need, actually made me want to fix it up nice unlike most of the other settlements i discovered accidentally while i was just exploring 😂
Starlight is my favourite settlement this far. I built onto one of the wings on the diner and im building my way up that tower. I love settlements where you can build onto pre-existing buildings and you don't really have to scrap everything and start fresh
thus far
Thx I never knew you could build 20 stories at albernathy farm this info will be useful in my next play through
Dude thank you so much there were three settlements. I didn’t know, I could make into settlements.
I'm playing F4 since release and never even visited some of these places. Thanks mate!
4 years ago, you got a build video of your number 1 that you say is your least favorite 🤯
On Pc, you can open the Console, select the bodies at Hangmans Alley and type "Disable" to get rid of them. Works on the yellow truck and first fence also.
I love hangman's alley but I am supprised you have it in the list at all!
Hangman’s Alley was probably the most fun for me to set up because the location was constantly raided. It was a challenge to find the best methods of protection.
I just stuck with Sanctuary in my 3rd playthrough, because of the huge space, also I work with Abernathy because of the height
i personally have 3 locations i absolutely love and my opinion of it is more driven to what u can scrap there and the pre made structures and things in the area that can prove useful.
1st of all i would say the red rocket for the reason that like stated in the video, dealing with the npc's there constantly hitting the walls and the annoyance of the characters as well tends, its one of the only places that has some form of fully automated systems without any mods to help out. what i mean by this is the button to the garage door which is useful and a neat touch as well as the doors you can also get at the red rocket which are unique. the downfall isnt that bad in terms of water as u can just make water pumps but i can see how it gets really tedious. also to me its basically the perfect square and has pre made exits and entrances which is gr8 for roleplay saves and also advanced builders.
2nd i would put the starlight drive in. i personally think starlight drive in is probally one of the best locations to build at. its moreless flat land, its water source is useful, pre made buildings could prove useful to more advanced builders yet again using the surroundings, not that difficult to obtain and alot more. it has alot of scrap which is useful for basic buildings and building those wooden shacks, theres always a random encounter nearby in fact around 3 from what i remember which can keep you around for something to do and my personal favourite are when the game gives you a pre made entrance or a gate you can take advantage of in the build.
3rd and last i would say the raider workshop past the train track and near the top of the map east of sanctuary. although at very low levels its an extremely tough fight, its possible to easily pick off each raider while also using the broken motorway to your advantage like i used to. once you killed the raiders which is best done silently, it is possible to get free power armour to obtain there as well as a fatman. (going directly east from sanctuary also has a fatman not far away anyway so if you get it you get 2 of them with at least 2 shots) the raider workshop is quite small but offers alot of high tier gear and even a magazine on the workshop its self. it comes with a free sitting area and a small elevated sleeping quarters while also being boxed in like a cage feeling like a small community. outside it has a defense post which can be used for npc's to guard and easy access to shooting downhill at other raiders there. lastly if you manage to set it up right, it is quite a useful place where spotlights actually become rather useful, turrets have good vantage and defending points and you also have just enough room to build something small or use it as a sustained farm.
I love using Red Rocket as a main base, make a compound around the outside and have the garage door as your only entrance and you have a totally impenetrable base
8:00 I always, ALWAYS, make Starlight Drive-In my home (biggest) base. All my shops, major farms, and robot creation is done here, and I don't know why. I just love it. So much build space, enough for my liking of about 16 people. Water in the middle for a major purifier, flat land, and a good amount of trees and cars to start building.
Hangman’s Alley is probably very convenient for Survival.
I barely bother with it in normal difficulties though.
1:14 - Dude, Hangman's Alley is shit without the mod, "Hangman's Alley Interior Apartment's."
Ernie Velveeta yeah but it’s mainly good for survival and is the main reason it made the list
Tell me about it!
I love outpost zimonja I love the strategic position also a Fatman spawns there, you can make it a VERY nice minuteman fort
Just what i needed thank you for sharing this info to the internet
If we’re talking about DLCs, vault 88 takes all the cake
True. I built my own personal quarters way, way at the ass end of the area. The rest of the vault is just public space, save for the upper floors being ''dorms''
Yeah but the NPCs only use like 5% of it, with no mods. Unless that's your point and you want to be left alone, then, yeah sure.
@@scotth3276 It’s a shame. I built a whole ass vault taking all the space you can possibly use but the only place my settlers go to is the vault door/entrance.
Wow, you building a starecase to Heaven? "Yesterday I saw a kid stack his books from the floor to the ceiling. He said something about trying to get to Heaven. He was only eleven. But he climbed up to the top and stretched out his arms!" - Toby Mac.
this is one of the most useful fallout 4 vids ive seen
I always send Preston Garvey to The Castle - it's both fitting given it's Minuteman HQ and allows me to build in Sanctuary without having to deal with constant pestering..
You sound like one of Jim Carrey's characters from A Series of Unfortunate Events. Stephano the snake 'expert'.
The thing with preston is that you dont have to have the minutemen there. if you just skip concord you dont have to deal with them
Thats Amazing! You helped me a lot now my Settlements can have loot! (Supply line)
i've read through alot of comments of what people build and damn you guys are creative
Outpost Zumanja is really good too. It's small and really good for a three man operations.
Daddy Vladdy a good railroad settlement for Mercer safehouse
@@nakedsnake8962 I turned Kingsport Lighthouse into a Railroad settlement. Excellent place to defend and you can turn thr back area into a killer bar as well as a great place for purified water.
In my RP, it's Brotherhood. Paladin Brandy has a 7 man squad (and 5 civilians) stationed there guarding the radio tower, and northern border.
I never thought Preston Garvey was an annoying character.
He's goated
Hangmans alley alows for some cool construction if your good at cheeting into place the starter pieces. You can make it look like everything you built belongs there and is built onto the alley. Hiding the rough edges and making what you build completely unique to anything you might build in any other building location. Pluss if done right there can be room for a compleat settlement. A good place to store NPCs. As they have no place to hide there when you want them.
I inevitably set up Sanctuary Hills as my main base for several reasons. One is the initial settlers I can get from those "annoying" NPCs (which I do not find annoying). I like the abundant raw materials and vast available building space which is also more than enough to plant vast numbers of crops. But primarily what I love is the fact I can easy put down a couple dozen large water purifiers which in short order makes me insanely rich, able to barter for all the raw materials or other goods I could ever want.
Download the “Scrap that Settlement” mod
Sanctuary is my capital settlement i used the clean & smooth mod to remove every thing and i use beside the uso mod the pre war sanctuary build mod by doing so i have created an truely pre war settelement in my own vision btw only compromise is an large wall with turrets to defend the perimeter & inside
Greygarden territory also covers the overpass, greatly expanding living space if you feel like it. Also makes a great perch for Artillery.
In survival, I leave the doors at Hangman Alley locked, when clearing it and then seal off all entry to the area with high fences. I like the idea of entering/leaving the settlement via the roofs of near by buildings. I use this place mainly as an out post to drop off loot and sleep.
How do you enter then?
this is what preston would send you
There are mods to increase the building area size and that allows you to recycle everything in a build area including the prewar buildings.
Nice list the one I like best Is Hangmans alley Building it took a bit but I loved building on it especially when it became an outpost in the nuka world dlc
Just recently began playing this game - starting without watching any videos. Starlight Drive-in was the 3rd settlement I acquired (after Sanctuary and Red Rocket). The only issue I had/have with Starlight was for some reason the population maxed out way too early in the game (maybe by level 10 or earlier), thus couldn't afford to build shops, and couldn't build robots - so I used Starlight as my "Logistics Center", and except for a few farmers, made the entire population "provisioners" - running supply lines to every settlement.
