Happy Sunday everyone! Felt really chatty this week and thought I'd share some observations and reflections that have been on my mind. What's been on yours these days?
Ever since the pandemic, I decided to take up a new outdoor hobby other than being at the gym. And while gyms were closed around March,April, and May. I decided to roller skate!!! And wow it has definitely made a difference on my life.

Love the phrasing “I let these control my life” vs “they controlled my life.” The former reflects a mentality of agency, not being a victim, and being responsible for one’s own feelings.

I really have to say Jenn, after watching you for a couple years, 2020 looks amazing on you. You have become so self aware, and have developed habits that are so inspiring to me, as a 24 year old. I want to be this self aware and productive, yet forgiving of myself when I hit my 30's.

I wish the Apple Watch had more customization with the activity app. I want to designate rest days, adjust the calorie goal for weekday vs. weekend, change the stand goal and exercise goal...etc

I really relate to everything you said about the Apple Watch. I love having it, but I hate how it affects me mentally. If I take a day off of working out to let my muscles rest, I feel guilty because I didn't close my rings! Even though I knew I was doing what was best for my body! I'm trying to work on this but it's hard. I really wish you could program the watch in a way where it would actually welcome breaks or days when maybe a workout is just stretching, and not actually burning a lot of calories. Thanks for this, it's nice to know I'm not alone in feeling this pressure.
We're definitely in the same boat. I feel a lot better about it now that I don't have any streaks on there and just use it as a piece of technology to track my workouts (when I do decide to).

Yes omg I experienced the Apple Watch conundrum as well. That thing made me exercise for 60 days straight. And it conditioned me to feel 'incomplete' if I didn't. I'm so glad I finally forgave myself; broke the streak and wanted to create a healthier relationship with exercise.

Jenn, I’ve been following you for probably 8 years now and I think you are the best “influencer” I could have possibly looked up to as a role model. 2020 is showing a lot of influencer’s true colors with them partying in large groups, flaunting money over authenticity, and in general just not being very responsible over their followings. Not trying to put anyone down to raise you up, but you’ve really shown that you’re a genuine and kind person that cares about the content you put out and what others can gather from it. I hope more of the younger generation can find your channel and draw inspiration from it.
