"Nobody does dining like Norwegian" is not a food statement on either end. It's a reference to their freerlstyle dining concept where cruisers don't have to book a set dining time or eat with strangers.
WOW.. I havent thought of it that way! "freestyle dining"... yeah, this was my first cruise so I dont have any info on how other cruise lines does their dining so this concept never occured to me! thank you
Nice main dining room review. Remember, you can order multiple appetizers, entrees, and desserts! And you've got great people-watching (or should I say "people-who-look-like-cartoon-characters-watching" on a cruise). Id write more, but I'm about to do dining.
Interesting salt and pepper shaker/grinder. Always like when you investigate mysteries at the table like that. I become smarter when you solve those mysteries.
I didnt want to accidently spill it all over the table, so I chose to leave it alone...

oh and a couple days later I found the same shaker... it was a manual turn thing, one way is pepper and other way was salt.

turns out it is a manual operation. turn the top one way and it gives pepper, turn the top the other way and it gives salt... it was 25 bucks on amazon, a waste of money imo

Loving that we're getting an 8-part series out of this. Note, as a seasoned Danny Watcher: DtM doesn't like crowds, like in a cruise show, but if food is involved, crowds aren't an issue. Those dim sum places get backed with loud people, and Vegas usually is crowded as well.

The water is desalinated from sea water. It is good to drink but has more salt in it than average tap water. So some people get swollen ankles from fluid retention from more salt.

i never had sea sickness as i loved being out on boats since i was a kid, but its after a roller coaster ride or the one and only cruise i did some time ago, it was AFTER i got home, and was steady, laying in bed, trying to sleep that i felt the bed was going up and down all night. takes a day or two to go away, but never sick.
Mr Medic, did you go swimming? Play mini golf? Go to a show while onboard? We need answers.
I did not. I did reserve a couple of free shows, but when I went, I saw how crowded it was in there I just walked out.. I dont like crowds..

@@LordLOC My experience is that the dining rooms cannot make (East) Asian food to save their lives. Buffet it should be fine, and if there's a Japanese restaurant (upcharge) there will be decent sushi and such. But dining room? Yeah, avoid that.

The salt and pepper grinder has arrows on the top telling how to use it. Too engrossed in your free OJ?
I saw the arrows but I didnt know what it meant, and I didnt want to risk messing it up and spilling everying on the table... so I did not deal with it more.... then days later, I encountered another one of those shakers and I had a plate, so I found out that if you turn the top part it one direction it dispenses pepper and if you turn it the other way it dispenses salt.. crazy!

Cruise casinos have 6:5 on the "cheap" blackjack tables. And all the people that are "just there to have fun".
I wish someone would've told the guy that if the DEALER is questioning whether you really want to make that play, you probably shouldn't. I've been guilty of it where I miscounted and the dealer was all "you sure you want to do that?" and thank goodness he did.
Can hear the Chinese people talking in the background, which for some reason I find hilarious, because they're probably loud enough for the whole restaurant to hear.
thats the thing though.. at the time he was wanting to take a hit, half of me was like... tell the dude dont hit! but then the other half was like, maybe the next card was small and he would have saved the table and I F'ed it up! LOL u never know!

@@dannythemedic , the cruise ship workers will do anything they reasonably can to make guests happy. I think that is a huge reason I love cruising. Hard to find such hard workers, at least where I live.
Beef is used to make Cottage pie. Shepherd pie is made with lamb
i will tell you the truth. im just a regular guy, my only experience i can remember with sheperds pie is at the nine fine irishman restaurant in vegas's NYNY casino. Gosh, how long have you been going to Bermuda on that cruise? Bermuda is only 35 miles off the coast of NC, as I understand. Hope we get to see a bit of Bermuda, when you finally get there that is. Anyway, happy travels n eats.

Lunch looked okay for a "free" lunch. It almost seemed like an all you can order lunch. I didn't stop the video to study the menu, but, everything you ordered looked good. What I'm trying to figure out is who you went on the cruise with. Lol...I heard the "loud" Cantonese guy in the background saying something about "chow yao yu". Not sure if he wanted calamari, or was referring to someone getting fired. The voice didn't sound like Tung's. Tap water on a cruise? I think the water would be stored in a huge tank. Don't know how often they clean the tank, so the water could be "flavored".

it was the table on my right, there were 6 of them. they were pretty close and of the type where they would speak loudly... my village in china had tons of loud speaking people, i suspect due to distance between people, having to shout across vegetable fields and etc
@@dannythemedic I don't know. Dim sum restaurants at lunch are pretty loud. So are my in laws at meals. Its like they turn up the volume on their voice just to annoy me.

I see that the hostess seated DTM in front of the glass plants. She must must have seen DTM's videos. DTM s/h got a sharpie and crossed out "Norwegian" and replaced with "DTM" so it reads "Nobody does dining like DTM". The free food is getting fancier and fancier. This is like reading a good book, the suspense is killing me.
How did you spent your time besides gambling on-board?
I spent my time shooting the videos, and some editing also. I also enjoyed the very hot showers and exploring the ship's nooks and crannies

Welcome to the world of cruises, where they'll give you $100 in ones if you want. Just make sure to pay that automatic gratuity! And isn't the primary flavor of a french fry essentially "salt"?
potato has a flavor... fries taste like potato flavor and i found that it varies alot between different fries
@@dannythemedic But can you tell whether it's an Idaho potato or an Ireland potato? (Usually fries need the skin to overpower the salt, unless they're fried in beef fat like McDonald's used to do.)
I really hope you are going to have reviews of something besides the food. If not, you are missing the point of cruising.

same level of quality? sometimes it was and sometimes one was better than the other by far!
When my daughter and I went to Hawaii and we were on NCL, we hit rough sea, there were barf buckets throughout the ship.🤮🤮🤮🤮

truth be told, it did... I find that all the main dining rooms on this boat took somewhat longer than land based places.. my first cruise... maybe all cruises are like this.. i do not know... however the speed was quicker at the osheehan.

Do you not have the drink package?! It is included with your fare unless you decline it. Which is really dumb.
I will tell you the details of the situation and you will see it was the right move. Free at sea promo, unlimited drinks including soda has a gratuity charge of over a hundred bucks, exact amount I dont remember because I declined it. I am a person that does not drink alcohol, I used to when I was young, but for the past many years, alcohol makes me sick quickly, lots of suffering.. so had i chose to keep the package, it woulda been over a hundred bucks for 5 days of soda. I dont need soda, I am happy with tap water and the free included beverages of coffee, some juice, flavored and tap water.

If you take another cruise, write a letter saying you make videos for you tube and want to do a review. They may offer you free items, like tours, or dinners
