I love the fact you can hear the Red Legion themes/Cabal themes in general there too, since he's basically the reason the psions are the way they are.
Its only an interpolation of the theme. It's always established music from this raid and villains that it doesn't correlate. Nez's only similarity is with the psions that's it not the cabal as a whole

Love the scream when dps starts.
Despite being a meh raid, Nezarec is great.
Really shows what the encounters meant to be. He’s trying to wield both light and dark at the same time and during dps that is the reason he’s weaker as he’s trying to use a power he doesn’t understand being the light. That and the fact he doesn’t like his new body and it’s his first physical form since the collapse

Really feels like a raid when no one pops their super at ALL until the final stand when you've used up all your heavy and the boss still isn't dead.
One of the best openings, his laugh that transitions into music is too epic.
Everytime I hear Nezarec's laugh I just think of Megatron's laugh.
I almost need the respawning restricted sfx right with that perfect timing at “Guardian, LET ME DEVOUR YOUR FEAR!”
What's better than hearing the FINAL GOD OF PAIN screaming in pain? Being the one to cause it.
my favorite part of lightfall is when nezarec said
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
and then he fucking teleported to the other side of the plate, making us miss half of our supers and heavy ammo

As a voidlock who runs nezarac’s sin getting to fight him while wearing his own helmet was kinda cool
I live for the heroism (or light, maybe? Forgot what it's called) theme kicking in while nezarac screams when the damage phase starts.
It sounds like Discovery. I could be wrong there.
Edit: I stand corrected. It plays at the end of the second DPS phase. Love it. Always my favorite extra little bit of music.
The dialogue, DPS FX’ and the high point was the Final Stand itself and it ended off this fucking entire song PERFECTLY.

Around 0:50 there's that quotation of "Cabal Stomp" and I think that that's what gets me the most. The whole campaign is themed around the heavy, hard hitting style of the Cabal's battle doctrine. Even non-Cabal forces are aggressive in this expansion.
Yeah there are TONS of cabal stomps throughout the entire soundtrack. I always love hearing it
Nezarec is closely tied to the Cabal - or should I say the Cabal are closely tied to Nezarec. Psions are believed to be a species that have long known him, either directly or through his hauntings.
@@kasm7870 Only the Psions are the connected to Nezarec. Also RAID MUSIC ARE SEPARATE INSTANCES TO THE EXPANSION MOTIF. This entire encounter music is only a being of darkness and a being of light. Cabal music is nonexistent in this encounter. The only one is the Third encounter. Psions were enslaved by the cabal.
There isn't like huh? This motif is Darkness with pyramid theme vs Light and Guardian theme. You want cabal music that would be third encounter.

hearing this makes me wish that destiny raid bosses had better tie-ins with their music. like, the whole song would build up to the point of the damage phase and if you didn't have the mechanics completed to enter damage phase completed by then, you wipe. and if you succeed, you enter damage phase while the music blasts in your ears. the boss' healthbar is much larger and you can only do 1 third of it's heath per damage phase, to make final stand even more intense and frantic.
That would not work. Some people can’t hear well. Some people don’t play with music on. And it also just sounds like hell to coordinate. It’s already hard to get LFGs to run quickly through Cataclysm NORMALLY. Having to time it to the music would make life hell.

@@romantech5319 oh but its actually tied to it. You literally get a change in audio cue and when i see people look lost when that happens the one thing I say is put your music a notch so you can pay attention.
@@binchytheicejugglerenjoyer The music is timed to it. But the reason it won't work when wipe because a wipe track does have a cue. music gets muffled. if your a raid musichead you'd immediately know
@@itsharibonph nono, i get that, I know that DPS and like... carrying the bombs at Taniks have a particular cue. I'm saying it would be a bad idea to have everything timed so tightly JUST to the music, when right now, the music complements the raid. What the other guy sounded like they wanted was a raid was designed with music in mind like Bullets per minute or Crypt of the Necrodancer.

At least lore and gameplay match on the power scale. Nezarec himself says that he is vastly weakened compared to his prime which is supposedly incomparable.
Yeah but it still sucks that the Raid boss with the most lore build up, ended up being the easiest to beat.
@@liamoliver5848 Yeah, can understand. Nezarec could end up appearing again. Correct me if I am wrong but Nezarec is still cursed by savathun so he should be still alive in some way. We could see a return and maybe in his prime, hopefully we are a lot stronger by then cause he will carry oomph. Pretty sure he was responsible for why everything is so fucked on earth from the collapse and all that.
@@liamoliver5848Canonically his body was quite literally being rebuilt as we progress through the raid. In the first encounter (which is also the room of the final encounter) you can see his head and part of his shoulders being grown in an orange crystal.
@@pendragon5744 I'm pretty sure he had nothing to do with the State of Earth during the collapse. As the Traveler and Humanity fought off The Witness. Savathun quickly 180 betrayed Nez and killed him in seconds before running off with The Veil.
@@liamoliver5848 You may be right, I do remember somewhere that Nez had lead the charge, and since it was said that Savathun had a hand in stopping the collapse, now you know why I would think that.
a few too many repeated voice lines, like the devour fear and this is too good one, but still great. I also heard that stasis turret be used for final damage
My thought process was that nez is kinda insane so he will say stuff over and over like a crazy person 😂
