Even if the battery life were an issue, it would be incredibly simple to replace it with one of a larger capacity. There looks to be plenty of room for a larger battery. Neat little device.
Welcome to the AliExpress electronics showroom channel. Love it!! ☺
Haha it sometimes feels like that!! There’s so much gear out there that I can’t help buying it, even if it’s just to try and see if it’s good or not! One day I might make a video on all the rubbish I also get, the box is growing! :)
@@TechMindsOfficial please do!
What a nice unit... Small form factor yet huge in features...
Thank you very much, for all the informaton and content you made avaliable through this channel.
You’re very welcome :)
Just seen these on ebay. Thanks for the review!
Youre welcome :-)
It's usefull and cheap. I had to order it :D Thnx for tip.
You're welcome 😊
Very nice and informative video
Thanks a lot
It is both interesting and unusual that labels are printed on both sides of the front and rear panels.
I thought that myself when I opened it up.
I wasn't much impressed by the solder connection of the SO-239s' center pin to the board. The blob on the TX side was kinda stringy and elongated... might not take a lot of jostling in the field to break it. Otherwise I like it! And the price isn't hideous either.
Curious did ou have any "hash" noise interference caused to the radio receive when the Swr meter is turned on? I have heard another model with the 4" screen has this problem
very cool, 73s
why didnt you try on SSB?
I just got mine
Gracias
Will this swr meter work on 2 Meter band?
Have you reviewed the MicroHam Power Vector Meter yet? It is the best!
Not yet, I will have to investigate this product. Thanks! :-)
how accurate is this? It doesn't do calibrating?
For unknown reason chinese manufacturer like serif fonts on technical devices. Non-Serif fonts would provide better readability and a more harmonized look with the enclosure
Curious if one can run the meter off of the power supplied by the USB-C and not damage anything.
From the look inside you can unplug the battery pack and for a permanent install, it would be wise to remove the battery...
Reading PEP??
Everything but the price of it?
Make one for UHF?
Would be cool if it cut to a dummy load if you ignored the alarm for too long.
Yeah that's a thought. Especially if it was just a third connector on the back so you could wire up your own. Mine just arrived today. Tempted to jerry-rig it at some point, maybe off the red LED with like a transistor and relay...
I just received one of these and for some reason it works fine on FM, but not SSB. Power reads incorrectly (radio set to 50W and meter's power is all over the place, but settles at 1.7W. I have a message in to the Ebay seller, and will update here.
That's how SSB works. The power varies with the modulation. To measure your power use a constant output mode like CW, FM, RTTY, etc.
@@AlGritzmacher My analog meter does show a needle swing-up when modulating on SSB, but, all I see on AM is basically a carrier reading-with no modulation swing. I thought that AM also would swing the needle with mic input... ??
Darn you .... more money spent! 😋
Lol, you better not watch my new video that I’m releasing in a couple of hours then! lol
@@TechMindsOfficial Thanks for the heads up!
I must have one💯👍📻📉📈
