    I always enjoy your videos so much, especially when you share real struggles we all have. One small note: your husband isn't helping out, he is taking care of HIS children/family.

    7:47 found so much comfort with you sharing the realness of some nights. My son just hit 1 year and it’s reassuring to see you cuddle your son and not sticking to a rigid sleep training technique. Actually started crying 🥺 such a beautiful thing.

    Wonderful video and love you showing the realness of good and bad nights!
    I totally agree, can’t rush the night routine. They can feel the insincerity and it makes it hard for kiddies to settle.
    I also realized dragging too long is also not helpful, because they will expect it longer and longer… and sometimes they get over tired and fussy when passed a certain time.

    Your videos sold me on the floor bed! Our 7 week old sleeps in a bassinet in our room but takes all of his naps on his floor bed in his room. I’m on maternity leave so I often take naps on the floor next to him. We have started doing a nightly bath, massage and putting him to sleep in his floor bed, and when he wakes up we take him to our bedroom for the rest of the night. We are hoping he will be an independent sleeper by the end of his first year.

    So sweet. We have an almost 3-year-old boy and do similar bedtime routines. Read, Brush teeth, bathtime, apply body moisturizer (it's a massage!) while chatting about our whole day (what we liked the most today, what we're looking forward to tomorrow), lots of hugs and kisses, 1 oral story, and 2 songs, and good night.

    Your routine of spending evening time all together as family of 4 in her room is so special and sweet I find 💗 We don’t have a certain night time routine yet, but I always talk to her about what we did that day, how wonderful it was to spend time together, briefly explain what’s going to happen the next day, and then give her lots of kisses and hugs before putting her down. We recently introduced the floor bed for our 8 month old baby girl and it turned out to be the best choice for us. She rolled off the bed twice, but after that, she learned how to safely crawl down on her own. It didn’t even take a week. Also it’s so much easier to calm her down at night as I could be next to her without taking her out from the bed completely!

    As a boy mom myself its not montessori. I feel like they are way less independent than girls and need more attention in the first 2 years. I found 1,5 till 2 super stressful because he was always super clingy. Now slowly it gets better and with 2,5 he helps more out in the kitchen (peeling bananas etc) and sticks more and more to boundaries.

    Our bedtime routine with our 18 month old starts right after diner
    We read him a book about a activity that we have planned for the next day to help him&us prepare
    Than we clean up all the toys
    After we cleaned up, we go upstairs whej he gets to help pick out his clothes, pyama& towel and we prepare his bath or shower
    After the shower when he is dressed its time for brushing his teeth
    After brushing we read an story from his calender book and we put him in bed
    Then we sing an night song and he gets the last hugs&kisses and we wish him a good night

    Our bedtime routine is turning into one of those nasa training machines and rocking baby to sleep lol.
    It is hard trying to wean baby off of it especially when she’s teething or overtired. We still have a consistent bedtime routine - and try putting her down when she’s drowsy, not asleep during the daytime. She is just so excited to stand or sit up when it’s bedtime. We will get there!

    • @hazieandmotherhood
      @hazieandmotherhood  Před 27 dny +1

      After the bedtime routine in Alina's bedroom, Elijah goes to his bedroom, and we leave them in their rooms at the same time. They usually sleep around the same time, but if one needs extra time, I’ll stay with him or her. If they both need me, my husband stays with Elijah, and I’ll be with Alina. It works great for us!

    I always look forward to your video to learn more ways I can implement Montessori at home ❤️ Anyway, how do you encourage/ teach your toddler to brush his own teeth? My 12 months old screams her head off while I pin her down with both my legs every morning when I brush her teeth 😔

    • @hazieandmotherhood
      @hazieandmotherhood  Před 27 dny +1

      Thank you so much for your support! For brushing, I found letting my toddler watch Alina or myself brush first, letting him play with the toothbrush as much as he likes, and making it fun with funny noises really helps. ❤️

    • @cariiinen
      @cariiinen Před 26 dny +1

      teeth brushing is tough!
      it helps to keep trying, giving them regular exposure. For us, it got easier over time. We stuck to the same routine so baby knew what to expect.
      A few more things that helped: Doing funny faces/noises, singing a song. We tried an electric baby toothbrush (it's a basic one, but he really likes that it lights up and has a button that he can press himself) and different tasting baby toothpaste. We also got him a doll, who does a lot of every day tasks he tends to resist. He can also help brush the doll's teeth while we brush his teeth. Sometimes he'll play with a toy or read a book while I brush his teeth.
      Hopefully, it'll get easier soon.

    • @LifeAmateur
      @LifeAmateur Před 19 dny +2

      My small changes that really helped was having multiples, so a couple of different toothbrushes (one was electric), and a couple of different flavoured toothpastes so some level of decision making was their's but their teeth were still ultimately brushed. Another thing I did in a moment of complete desperation was quickly googled a youtube brush your teeth song (Finny the Shark), it goes for 2mins and that was what pushed it over. He gets to watch that, nothing else and only when brushing teeth, we would pause at the end sometimes and discuss the characters, what they were doing, even named them all after his friends (his name is fynn so he always says he is the shark). Then afterwards redirect to choosing what books he would like read. Last night he choose not to watch, but have me sing the song to him as I brushed his teeth.
      Along with being consistent, that was difficult for me as I'm tired too some days and didnt want the fight, but we're playing a long game here. Good luck 💕
