    When I was 12, I had gotten my hands on a spell book. I found a rain spell but I only had about half of what they said I needed for the spell. I did the spell anyway just using what I had and it worked anyways! I did this spell on a very sunny day- and it shortly after started pouring rain. That's when I learned you do not need to have every single thing to make spells/magic work.

    With the first question, the first thing I thought of was Wicca, which is English, based on pre-Christian European religions. There are a variety of European pagan religions to draw from. But I imagine if you're using European traditions on American land, there can be a disconnect between the magic and the place. Difficult one.

    This summed up SO well what I am changing in my life right now. This need to feel connected has been there for quite a while but I was never able to point out what I was actually missing. I think for the next steps to get my life together (recovering from mature mental health issue atm) this sentence will be with me a lot

      @KittyFlint @RachaelStephen THIS…. Omgosh I get very frustrated if my space isn’t ‘comfortable’ for me! I too suffer with mental health issues - more anxiety and social anxiety so I spend a lot of time indoors, alone and seeing the same things day in day out! I find I HAVE to feel ok in my space to feel any connection and have always felt that, I’m forever changing things, updating things and moving things around just to feel safe and connected again to re-motivate me to stay on top of chores (to the annoyance of anyone living with me at the time!!)
      I have found that building an altar in one place that stays there but I can change regularly to make ‘a change’ and it can help me feel more connected too! Bring indoors constantly with anxiety can be very hard too so it’s important to keep yourself feeling that connection, altars and to be honest research can help so very much! I also go to a lovely meet up group with Witches, Wiccans, Druids and Pagans at every Sabbat and that helps to keep me connected too! Thank you for giving me hope that it’s not just me!!! 🫶🏻

    A good way of finding out if a culture/religion/practice is closed and if you can or can't take stuff from, is by seeing if it fits one of these 2 conditions
    -Was the people group who have traditionally done this practice opressed at any point in time (native American, hoodoo, voodoo, Santeria)
    -Is the religion still being practiced like it was premodern times (Shinto, Buddhist, Hindu, etc.)
    As a former Hindu I find it really degrading when someone works with a Hindu deity when in Hinduism only brahmans can work with them in the way most witches could

      Of course, we must ask ourselves, would Shiva or Vishnu be scandalized if a non-Hindu called upon them for help?
      Would they care about our ideas of political correctness and neat little labels that segregate and divide one from another here on the mortal plane?
      We all are one being. It seems such dualism would be more frustrating than some white Baptist kid from Akron wanting to work with Hindu powers.

Some deities require a different type of dedication than others, you can’t simply go choose multiple deities from multiple pantheons, mix them into your own practice without knowing how to properly honor and/or pray to them and think that all is well. One in which I used all the correct names I talked about in short encapsulations philosophical tenants you say that I might find incongruent as a Westerner. The point I was making was this....that should any of my Brothers or Sisters seek to honor The Vedic gods and goddesses and seek to emulate their Essence in their own Passage along the Wheel in this temporal being. Where to be wrong or offensive to them or against the Dharma to those we're talking about here... Well then I would rather expect to hear from those Vedic gods. And not a person who seems more interested in the born to Priesthood Bhramics who maintained in the past elitist caste to be the ones to which consideration be owed . I know of a certain Monkey whod find any endeavor as we call it to gate keep wisdom very offensive , dont you? And lastly what do you think we're going to do to the worship of Eternal Ones with our Untouchable practices. Do you think we're going to fly off and form a new Thugee cult? Perhaps worship Durga or Vishnu or Krishna in the same way that we worship Dionysus or Hecate or Odin and remove the Gods from their attendant Culture? Or perhaps were for one minute believe that Shiva and Shakti belonged to us first? You don't know us at all and I believe that you have bigger problems now. Besides it's all sort of moot isn't it? Because isn't the standard that unless you are born into it it does not apply and cannot therefore be practiced in any effective manner? By the way you should hear my Kirtan...my pertenaturaly deep voice can vibrate the chrome off a bumper at 10 kilometers for hours .The years of working intimiatly with my Prana were a gift to all my Practice, Namaste.... oh excuse me one last thing, 'Abraxas'.... isn't that old Gnostic and isn't that considered to be at least partially a closed practice? It's my limited understanding that practice isn't very big on being culture cops or wisdom toll booth operators they're more interested in their own Gnosticism and maintaining and transmitting it so that it remain whole and in the purview of those to whom have sought to understand it ? I could be wrong my understanding of that particular culture and practice is very shallow. Almost as shallow a understanding as you make me feel you might have been about my own. Although I am aware that it's given much too many traditions and practices unique endeavoring to gain the wisdom of it practitioners have been inspired and instructed who would not consider them shelves to be truly full gnostic in name but still give it credit. question- I am totally new to magic, but I have been practicing creativity & art my entire life. It seems like there are parallels. A lot of people think you're either "born" with artistic talent or you're not- when in reality, its just like any other skill- you have to put time and effort into the practice. And the more you do that, the more naturally it will flow. However, sometimes when you're feeling * inspired * it does feel like the creativity is flowing from some greater external force through you (the vessel). Do you think that's kind of how magic works too? We aren't any more or less magical than others. Its just a matter of practice, and opening yourself up to being a vessel for the energy to flow?

      Many Witches today come to Serve at least in part because we have felt separated from Creation. Lost track of the Tides of Silver and Gold. It is a World that we feel parted from but our hearts and our bodies know this is not so many of which is drawn to Nature and its beauty as if we are far from home and seek to return even if we do not know it even if we are unaware of it even if this is not something we think of when we answer the call period for so many of us we begin with the Moon we see her changing face allow her like to call upon us and in her absence we will count the Stars and we will Marvel at their beauty. In this ever-changing night for many are first reunions with the certainty of magical power comes in these moments we wander the night. And as we we open our eyes to the night find ourselves looking to the day Sun plays itself across the sky. And we find yet more reacquaintance as the wheel carries us forward. Once you start to open your eyes is inevitable to census return to their natural order. I have yet to Meadow which or practitioner or follower of an old way who does not experience this return. So though we are different times in what you look at the act of the looking brings ice mostly to the same place period and do we not live on a farm or in the Wilds one cannot block out nature or the seasons or the wheel. And I'm telling you all this to let you know that the majority of us would find resonance with you your feelings and response to the tides of nature. Just me affirming head over all witches and practitioners of the old ways in these modern days hold similar if not exact feelings about nature and its works

    So I was wondering…When, in the process of studying witchcraft and utilizing it, did you first start to feel comfortable calling yourself a witch? Was there like a specific milestone, or a specific time or moment that you remember? I ask because I struggle with this in the study and practice of pretty much anything. I’ve been writing since I was a kid for instants, but I have trouble saying I’m a writer. I’ve been painting for years but I have trouble saying I’m a painter. I’ve been composing and writing music since I was about 13 years old, and then 37 now, yet I still have trouble saying I’m a musician, or a songwriter… Just wondering what your perspective on this is, because you often say things in such a way that makes me think about it differently than I would have otherwise.

      I’m just another person who wants to give you her two cents on this. In my opinion, being a witch is not a job or a hobby. You are a witch or you aren’t one, there isn’t a particular amount of knowledge that you need to have to have the right to call yourself a witch. If you already practice a craft, have your own habits no matter how little they are, you can call yourself a witch. I’m not sure where the pressure a lot of witches, especially baby witches, comes from. Just throw it all away, it’s weighing you down

    • @LucianCorrvinus
      @LucianCorrvinus Před 3 lety

      Any person who comes to The Craft and the faith and dedicate themselves to at least .... and so long as it be done with and diligence as to honor the power you seek to understand by that understanding alone can call themselves then a witch there are no hard-and-fast rules about which as a name period any more than there are reasons or or meaning of those name had when we took it for example I am a male I call myself and if I myself is witch with a capital w whenever and wherever I can. This is specifically my case due to the fact that has a male I often must deal with the misconception Albion Warlock. Which is not the male version of witch as witches a non-gender term. Although there are males Among Us who have chosen to reclaim and call themselves Warlock and I'm sure you chose their own reason for doing so. Although the reasons will often include one or two factors one that it is he taking back of the name as warlock can be bias term as well as have a history within the craft they can have shades of the negative. You will find this applies to which as well. For the stigma of a witch being an evil creature automatically Maupin spur did you begin something one identifies oneself with how to spell stereotype. This is also true in my case. The other part of Warlock and the part I'm going to outline here is it at words have power as do names. That by assuming the title which by calling ourselves which by thinking ourselves is which we tied into perceptions of others which also afford power. I'm sure you can understand intrinsic level that should you be talking about your beliefs and someone being the mock you but you say you know I'm a witch and I don't appreciate that if they start to Mark witches can sometimes get you Respect by name alone true sometimes arises off times arises from Fear or from what they believe which isn't true you'll find. But any good witch with their blacks all will tell you you take power from where you find it and you utilize the tools which are put before you it's not a requirement that you do so but it is always wise to understand your tools and your power base is around you will you do the more facile you will become with witchcraft lastly I would like to respectfully say but if you do choose a day early Point Hueneme beginning practice that you might do to take yourself up the name of witch that you think hard before you call yourself or allow others to call you baby rich. And I make this point because I myself find a new very open to pasteurization that is unfair placed upon those coming new to the craft unless you might think that after a year or two they have the right to be Superior of matter to any person they think is inferior because it happens period as a Elder witch who has been walking this path for 30 plus years I tell you this you are both worthy of respect as much as you should give it. And I would never look down upon or act Superior in other way into correct another Superior but even that is very difficult for me to do it though I will because for some don't understand that is all they will you will know when the time is right what name you choose and how you use it. We witches over all over and big on listening do ourselves and understanding that we know when the thing is right if we but not question that we will know when it is right

      I merely wanted to say that not all of us feel the same way about those sorts of spells. This usually hasn't caused problems between witches that you do and do not up until this point and this is why. Each which is responsible for the magic that they make all magic comes with a price. Furthermore since the witch doing the magic pays the price and not ourselves who usually do not dictate another which uses Magic. I am not saying that you do I'm just letting you know that there are other positions regarding magic and ethical standards. Also that no singular Force exists without a opposite Force defines and describes the other as well as itself. You may find that a witch who curses is not necessarily visiting evil or maliciousness for their own sake or its own sake. There are many of us who might curse as a form of Justice a balancing of the Fates or condition to be met in order that something else come about. It's not usually position for many of us we will take without careful consideration and understanding when to take upon oneself the power to put a curse xor Jinks on another music that person and we become linked so long as that magic is in play. Is usually not within us as I said to tell other witches what to do or to have ourselves be questioned by which should we share what we do. I hope that you will avoid that All Too Human failing that we all can succumb to not just you or myself I'm telling others what's right and what's wrong what did she do and what they shouldn't do has a position of being a better authority of their magic than they are or as if we understand their lives in a way that they do not and I'm sure if you think on that last part you understand what I'm saying with clarity should what I be saying not have been so up to this point Blessed Be

      @@LucianCorrvinus hi there, don't necessarily agree with your statement, you are right about consequences to creating spells. I need to make it clear, I do not tell other witches, what to do. The craft has lost history and methods, that are only recently in modern times been rediscovered.
      As to money spells, love spells, curses and hexes, they are simply a form of manipulation for in some way for self gain, when you take the energy from one place for financial gain for example, it means a loss of energy somewhere else. So someone gets rich, while another gets poor. The best spell to do is to have a spell to improve skill, or meet the right people to improve income. Positive thinking.
      A love spells can be a manipulation, in that a person falls in love with the neighbours spouse, asks for a spell to get that spouse, there by destroying a love that was already there. Better to ask for the right love to come to them, maybe have to wait to be reincarnated to finally meet that romeo. Balance.
      What happens if you have a dear friend, who is about to marry a bad man, where you know it will end badly. Do you put a curse on that bad man, when they are married, or is it not better to do a spell for your friend to remove the shale from her eyes to what he is about, a spell of inner wisdom. Maybe the spell can be for the bad man, a spell of balance for an unbalanced person. Or maybe a positive work spell, where he has to move far away, where the marriage is not convenient.
      Sometimes, it better to do a spell of intuition, so that the day you cancelled going to a bar with your friend, because it do not feel right, allowed your friend not to meet the bad guy, and allowed her to meet the good guy later on at the garden center. A nice guy that likes to grow things.
      It's all about balance, I often want to do curses and hexes, the spiritual path is hard when you have so much anger, because someone has said something or you know they are a serial killer in training. When that happens, I ask the other side of do a tarot reading. Usually the answer does not offer how to make bolts of lighting or something that needs ointment. It often says look at like this, and do the opposite. When I do take the advice, mostly because I don't want it, things do get better, balance happens and after months of been angry, finally subsides.
      Just want mention I'm a free witch of sorts, basically a hedge witch in the traditional sense, not following the wicca part like a religion. I never followed the wicca way of thinking in that way. The way of the wild is for me, also like drawing, a useful tool. I
      have to say some of this stuff, not because I want to tell people what do, it's because I feel it, if I say nothing, then there will be no debate, and are any o is actually doing it right. A great unknown.

    You have such a calm, peaceful, humble vibe, you must be a Virgo. You have the lovely, radiant face of a Virgo, too. Does astrology play a part in your practice of magick?

    Sabbats(solar) and Esabbats ( lunar) my def BTW. Have always been about the course of the Year. The Sabbath are the starts of each season. But the Season of the Year is entertained with the Seasons of the Heart. The Season of the Dying Light the Feast of the Flaming Altars,the Season of Fresh Green the Feast of Flowering Renewal , the Season of High Sky , the Feast ofthe Sacred Marrage And the Season of the Dark Parade , the Feast of the Harvest Home. The Esabbats are about the small cycles of the Triple Goddess. The 13 moons that describe a lunar year Many of us use the Lunar as a timekeeper, choosing to tap into the Power of the Moon as each are so moved to each of the phases. The four Wheel Holidays are dictates of the Lunar calender BTW. They pace these by the phase after a Sabbat. Though here I'm using alot of personal assumptions I've come to tying information and observation together so some of it may be of the Spirit and not the Word . These in the past moon phase and Sun celebration, were known as the tides of the Sun and the Moon. You'll also find that across many cultures and ages these Celebration are given to rise independently. Considering a lot of them are based on the movement of Sun andMoon of course it makes sense .i point out how both s o h i a n from Celtic Europe en Los Dias de los muerte which come from mesoamerica are within the same the exact time and celebrate the same basic principles. Along with other celebrations regarding death rebirth the Sun passing away or the god xcetera Of course these celebrations at least solar celebrations are almost always found within communities and cultures that have solar movement to record as opposed to ones that don't as seen along the equator. And is also is dependent upon the local repeated patterns. In Egypt the New Year began with the flooding of the Nile which was preceded I Believe by the rising of the dog star. In other places Venus was very important in denoting sacred and important holy days. I will finish off with the charge of the goddess which Gardner has said was original and from ancient wisdom but we understand now that it's not so rather Diane Fortune lifted it from Aleister Crowley. Regardless what it is given to impart to us the goddess instructs us to honor the celebrations when and how we can. She doesn't dictate and Proclaim this is the time you must this is the time you can't. If we are to hear her voice she is placing importances in celebrating the spirit in one's heart and not what time the tides of the Sun and the Moon stand upon. Your celebrations are not there as most of us have experienced in other religions. In fact you can choose not to celebrate any of them or so it'll be all of them period was not important of the ones you celebrate as a sort of must do's. Is that you embrace the celebration and that it becomes something which transcends just the day or the hour or the season. It has nothing to do with the time on the calendar that it is oh, it matters more about the time in your life it represents. Is a way to enshrine our days and hours 2 string them so that in times to come a rosary of memory. well spring of power to draw upon in our daily lives.

    When we make Invokation it is to a Lessor Soirit like a Elemental or lower Courtier, or Construct or Dimensional. It should be as if we are speaking as a loving parent to precious child, gently and firmly with their protection and well being in mind.and always Lovingly. When we given a Spirit Invetation , an Ancestor , a Fae a Spirital Courtier, an Abstract it shoukd be as to a welcome Friend or a boon Companion. With open and thankful Heart and as if it has been too long apart. The reunion of Equals And when we make Evocation as to a Greater Spirit, a God a Goddess, an Angelic or Infernal a Planetary Avatar it should be as a respectful child to a Wise Parent or Authority with the recognition of the position and desire to honor and serve...or at least display ones manners...

      So let me guess you chose this particular Passage as it had a certain ring of how the word will defeat our Wicked hearts how it will throw aside our false beliefs how it will make clear who is the real deal and reiterate where we go if we don't follow what you say. Because that book gives you Providence because of that book verifies your own personal beliefs and those beliefs are s***** Spare me your half-assed attempts at coming into a place where you know you're not going to be welcome just to spout and tout how much more special you are because the one God's Avatar loves you. And how we better follow what you think is right and true or burn in hell forever Any God that would allow you and yours your hypocritical way of the world and you're nauseating and self-serving motivations that's not a deity I want to follow praise or even acknowledge I'd rather burn. You should also remember even the most faithful even the most pure of the followers of the one God can still be corrected and who do you think those tools are? It's in that book go look. And next time come with better is it mediocre at best.

It would help me mentally,physically and emotionally I don’t wanna change my face just hair type and body weight.

    • @enchanted_wildflower_
      @enchanted_wildflower_ Před 4 lety

      I don't think you can change your hair type but maybe you need to work on accepting yourself and the situation your in..? That might also make it easier to loose the weight (in case you are stress eating etc) Learning to love yourself is a part of witchcraft too imo. I know that sounds really obvious and is much easier said than done but I have 3c hair too and as I child I really wanted to have straight hair, but as I got older I realised that what I really wanted was being like everyone else and fitting in so it was never really about the hair. And over time I learned to love my hair so much and take care of it, I would never ever swap my hair type with anyone now.

    As a witch, I don’t go by PC issues such as cultural appropriation. I try to go with the flow and see who’s calling me to work with them. I can’t please the modern mob and find guidance and comfort at the same time.

      @@someonerandom256 I think when it comes to spirituality, you can’t really apply modern ideals of cultural appropriation to people’s individual’s practice. A person could’ve had a past life in a culture they are interested in but aren’t part of in this life. That could be a reason the person is drawn to a particular practice.
