    Understandable that this series would have to end eventually. There's a finite amount of underused cards. Looking forward to what you start doing next, especially (hopefully) more deck techs as the ones you build are usually more budget friendly haha

    Hey Demo, I have absolutely loved this series so much so that I created a list of all the cards from each of your episodes. If you need it sending to you to help you with your final episode then let me know and I can send it to you. Keep up the great work for MTG community as it’s always good to hear your views on the subject matter of the day. Best regards Stu

    I have a 5-color Garth deck with a wizards tribal theme, and vedalken aethermage is a great tutor. At the top end, I can fetch cyclone summoner to wipe the board, or I can get Ertai to counter stuff. Wizards are deep enough that there’s usually a creature that’s relevant for most board states.

    Gotta say, Trade Routes is criminally underplayed. It’s amazing in cycling decks, wheel decks, and anything else that has discard synergies. One mana to discard a dead land and draw a card, plus whatever other triggers you have on board!

    I haven't gone through every video, but have through a lot. Discovered a bunch of old cards but more specifically ways to play hidden gems that I hadn't considered. By proxy, this channel has leveled me up as an EDH player, so thank you.
    Not sure if it was ever in a video, but Orbs of Warding is a criminally underplayed card that seems innocuous until people realize that their tokens do no damage and they can't target you. The type of utility card that seems like a do-nothing until all of a sudden it is doing a whole lot of somethings.

    Excited for cards by set!
    I am a big fan of Block commander. A custom format my playgroup came up with. You can pick any commander, but all you maindeck cards have to be from 1 or 2 blocks + 1/2 small sets ( like portal, starter 1999, or conspiracy). We all use the same sets during a session.
    The rules aren't set in stone yet. But this is generally how we do it and it's been fun! You end up having to use a lot of commons and uncommons. Also, you have to be careful of mana symbols since your lands are a majority basics

    I've got a question about a card (for Demo, or anyone else who feels like weighing in) - what's your opinion on Power Leak (enchant enchantment for 1U, basically adds an upkeep cost to the target enchantment of pay two life or 2 colorless)? I'm thinking of it as a semi-answer to things like Smothering Tithe (at least it maybe slows them down a bit) in my Jalira deck, which kinda lacks answers once things are on the board. Not sure it's good enough, but it struck me as a maybe interesting approach.

    For an added point to Void, you could also choose 0. This will then wipe out all tokens on the board if they are the issue, like chum blockers or they are massing tokens for huge swing. You wont get any discards probably, but you will see their hand. So, thats still a bonus effect.
    Also for Wand of Denial, you could also target your self. you can use this to put things you want into you graveyard. Also its like a pseudo-scry, look at the top card if you like it put it back if not pay two life put to the grave. I can think of a bunch of decks where that would be useful. It may not be the most efficent way to do this but the ability to target an oppenent is very versatile.

    The coolest thing about World Queller (and effects like it) that wasn't mentioned is that you can SAY you're doing something, and, if anyone decides to respond to it, because the choice is made on resolution, you can pick something else. Like, if you say "At the beginning of my upkeep, queller artifacts", and someone says "in response I sacrifice my Command Sphere, you can then say, "alright, world queller enchantments" or something. Do note: if no one responds, your choice IS locked, as you're proposing a shortcut when you do this.

    One interesting thing about Vernal Bloom (and this would apply to Nissa from War of the Spark) is that for shock lands, trioms, etc, it adds GREEN mana even if you tapped the land for a color other than green.

    • @cinaedpv

      @crawdaddy2004 Před 2 lety

      @@cinaedpv I would be hesitant to put Vernal Bloom out with Yavimaya, as Vernal Bloom effects all players.
      And yes, Caged Sun does the mana-doubling thing, but it’s effect only affects the lands when they tap for the specific color. The interaction I’m talking about is that if you tap your Stomping Grounds for red mana, you will get a red mana and a green mana. Most effects (e.g., Caged Sun or Zendikar Resurgent) would have you produce two red mana.
