WNT Watches World Cup Draw in Brazil

- After arriving in Brazil on the morning of Dec. 6, the U.S. Women’s National Team players watched the Final Draw for the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup together at their hotel in Brasilia and learned that Australia, Sweden and Nigeria will join them in Group D.

I know truth is our men have won zero World Cups since they started competing internationally in 1930. The USMNT best World Cup result was third in 1930. The USWNT on the other hand have won 2 World Cups and they've been international since the first WWC in 1991. Highest goal scorer for the men is Donovan at 57, for the women Wambach at 177 and counting. There are so many more facts but you can look those up on your own.

Angelique McKenzie Everything you said is true, but the men’s soccer competition is a lot more developed and the teams have had more experience. The competition is a lot tougher for the MNT. Whereas the women’s soccer is still growing and teams are still working their way up. As the women’s team grow and start to develop, competition will be a lot harder for the WNT. Unfortunately there are still a lot of countries who don’t support Women’s soccer, hispanic nations for example, but hopefully the sport continues to grow rapidly around the world.

USA might have the "group of death" on a technicality... but i still don't have much worry that they won't top their group, and if they do...their quarters don't look nearly as bad as some other teams' will.
Japan got the best draw but ours was better than Germany and France.
Vin Kermit Diesel I definitely think Group F is the hard draw. Even with Mexico's poor showings of late. I think, even Canada's draw will be more difficult/competitive(for them) than the US'.
US' only worry, is Sweden beating them, and exiting the group #1 (which is a justified worry tbf). I don't care if Nigeria and Australia topped their continent...on any other day, nobody would expect a nailbiter match from them pitted against the US, so why sensationalise it now?
Japan definitely lucked out haha, and personally i think Germany did too. Two of those teams have never played in the WC ... ever.
The fact is no team other than Sweden have beaten the States in their group and I have seen both Australia and Nigeria play...the Auzzies are very physical and the Nigerias are very very fast but both are beatable. The bonus is if the U.S wins their group, it almost guarantees them a free ride until the semis. However, if they come in 2nd or 3rd they are big trouble.

+Rocio Medina Underestimate? You could tell that they were not happy with any of the selections for their group. Even the laughter when Sweden was selected was more like, great, another top 10 team in our group!
+Rocio Medina You totally misunderstood their reactions. Their group is not called the Group of Death for nothing, and these ladies are not stupid enough not to realize it too.
It didn't become apparent until later that not only was it a tough group, but their half of the draw included the #1, #2, #3, and #5 teams! Is it any wonder that Japan, the #4 team made it to the final from the other half of the draw? It was all done to make the journey of the host be the easiest.
Is this Germany bc it has a lack of diversity.
USA won't win the world cup. Germany and France have better technical teams. Even though USA are ranked #1 in the world. They will bottle it

The USA has alot of technical gifted players and they have one of the biggest squad depth at this world cup. I can't believe you mentioned france because they're are the real bottlers. Only Germany and Japan will be The US main rivals

Joseph Lubanza lol we will see American players are more athletic they are not skillful or technical at all only heath is the more skillful out of the lot. But she is nothing compare to moraszan or necib who are far more gifted then any of the USA females. But I'll guess we will just have to wait and see.
