Monsterverse Kong, went from orphan on Skull Island to a refugee in the Hollow Earth. It wasn’t until he found other great apes and defeated Scar King that Kong finally found a family to protect and lead. Even if it’s never said by the studios for whatever legal reasons, this is the movie where Kong earned the title King Kong.

I had a bit of a ticket snafu when I went and saw GxK and missed like the first hour of it, but I got there before the Skar King/Shimo scene. The fake tooth threw me off, but when Skar King started laughing, my brain was like “obvious foreshadowing.” And the payoff was wonderful 😂😂😂
