    I made a small treenet with thin yarn between the branches of a deer antler I found one day. It was very helpful to make a small treenet before the big one

    Thank you!!! Simple and to the point. I can figure out the knots myself, but this was refreshing to say the least. You didn't turn the first part into a 15 minute piece of dos, don'ts and 'no nastygrams in the comments section or you'll hear from my lawyer' crap!!!

      The knots I use are figure eight, cow hitch, clove hitch and constrictor. I also use double fisherman's to connect two pieces of paracord when I run out

    Applying a rope directly onto the surface of a tree would harm it. So it's better to use some wooden bricks or carved wooden blocks to distribute pressure from rope evenly. I saw those techniques used by tree climbers, notably redwood climbers.

    • @CanopyCraftStudio
      @CanopyCraftStudio  Před 2 měsíci

      Agreed! I made a video specifically about this and just finished a net in some redwoods with the same technique 😊

      Paracord for the fill and static rope for the perimeter. I have link on my channel to a page with the best rope and paracord for tree nets!

    How do I tie a knot for the perimeter

  • @lillzplayzgachaz4843
    @lillzplayzgachaz4843 Před 2 měsíci

    When you tie the knot all the way around the branch, it kills the branch in the long term. Try and use tension to hold it up or use other methods, but please don't use this method for permanent tree nets.

    • @CanopyCraftStudio

      Kids die every year choking on hot dogs, you have a right to personally fear hammocks, But you don't have the right to project your fear onto others and stop people from living their lives.
      Also living in fear sucks so you should face your fears. You will be way happier
