When your baker knows more about taking care of your baby than you do... it's time to reconsider some of your life's choices and do better.
She sounded like she was having a. " mother brain" 6 hours after giving birth, not knowing the gender. the mother seems like she's out of it from anesthesia or just having struggle because of birth.
Some of your life choices like "having a baby"
@@SamriddhiSharma128I feel fairly confident that six hours after giving birth, mom was still laid up in bed and that was dad.
I was fully expecting the "baby" to be an animal...who also shouldn't have chocolate cake!
"Why are you a baker at such a young age? You've got so much more life to live!" sounds suspiciously to me like "Why aren't you a mother yet?"
Oh, to me that sounded more like someone who would rather she first have a degree, career, and pension before having any kids 😂
@@ragdoll86nah one of my grandmothers, when I excitedly told her I'd just been accepted into a doctoral program, sighed heavily and asked me with a great deal of concern when I was going to get married and have a baby.
And then tried to set me up with the town butcher. I'm a vegan.
I heard it as "baking is (insert misguided opinion here, like difficult manual labor or small business that may fail, etc.), and I think you should do (insert whatever this person's profession is and the requisite training or study for it)."
Could certainly be any of these! All relevant IMO
@@seajelly2421 So when is the wedding?
"Be my guest. Or, actually, be *their* guest, please."
😂
I lowkey expected the customer to come back with the receipt after taking this literally 😂
“You have so much life left to live!” She says to the entrepreneur who has already found a skilled artisan trade she’s passionate about. Most people spend their youth trying to find that. Karen’s just mad that her friendly neighborhood baker is way ahead of the curve.
The last one reminds me of how people keep asking the cafe I work at if we do personalized milkshakes, which we don't, we only have 4, as this is a cafe, and there is literally an ice scream shop specializing in that next door
🤦♀️ I feel your pain.
People take great pride in being a massive pain in the arse
I had a customer that was looking for a specific type of bread, but it was still in the oven, and wouldn’t be ready for another 10 minutes. He reacted with “oh, but for me you can take it out now, I don’t really want it that hot!”
there's gotta be SOMEONE out there who just eats straight up bread dough and is somehow still alive
What she said: “Don’t overwork yourself.”
What she meant to add: “unless it’s to work all night to make croissants for me at a moment’s notice.
I had a regular customer but undergone bread. She liked to finish the bake at home, making her family think she baked it herself!
I think that's not really working. When it's baked once and the temperature in the inner of the bread falls below 90° C, the baking process is stopped and the chemical part of it can't be started again. It's just heating then.
Ive asked for french bread dough when I want to make fresh stone tile pizza. I save an hour nor worry about accidentally killing or using old yeast
The you both sell bread/coffee stories make me think of--Yeah, I’d like a Big Mac. You do realize this is a Burger King? Yes, and you both sell burgers.
That is a big King. Next best thing at BK.
Sir, this is an Arby's. 😂
Do you realise that Starbucks didn't invented coffee? Macchiato, cappuccino, espresso... they are not exclusives.
According to the comic strip character Dilbert; gift cards are just like cash, but not as good because they can only be used in one place.
😂 "It's his Birthday 🎉🥳."
He was born literally today.🤱
they really wanted to emphasize the birth in birthday
Like literally the mother is going to kill the kid on his birthday. Whats next? Some beer to wash the cake down?
That is how the chinese culture sees it.
“Don’t overwork yourself, but I need 50 croissants”
😂 Naw, I love pounding butter, it’s relaxing. I love rolling it out and making a million folds.
It’s nice to know “Retail Heck” is universal. Thanks for the laughs
I’ve never heard of cancer by overdone bread but, in France often people will ask for underdone bread in the morning so it’s hot when they finish the bake for dinner.
I prefer underdone bread, and was going to comment on this, but you beat me to it.
I don't think you can eat under done bread.
Absolutely not because it's not bread, it's dough! 😱
I mean you can, but you’re at risk of food poisoning from the flour (which can be contaminated by bacteria on the wheat) or get severe bloating from the yeast.
Your body doesn't process raw foods as well as cooked foods. So...yes you want your bread cooked properly. Also...if you eat "burnt" stuff, that is bad. Once something burns, it starts producing carcinogens. This is probably what the lady was talking about, but a properly baked bread is completely fine.
That’s what I kept thinking. Raw dough can kill a person. Even on baking competition shows, if it’s still doughy the judges refuse to eat it.
Underdone bread might give you a yeast infection?
I used to work at a coffee place and the most hilarious part was the split of people either being overwhelmed that we had multiple beans they could choose from and get freshly ground and prepared pour over style. Which honestly, absolutely fair. That's part of my job to recommend you something and get you what you want. The other half was people walking into a pour over coffee business wanting things coffee crema. For those that don't know, that's basically roasting coffee between regular and expresso roasting and using one of those big automatic coffee machines and a lot of pressure to produce a bit lf coffee foam doing so. Pretty common here, but well if your whole concept is handmade pour over coffee that is a little but impossible, the recommendation to then try one of our expresso beans prepared in an areo press led to "But I don't want strong coffee" in 90% cases leading me to believe marketing is the root of all evil in costumer facing industries
Tbh at such a young age most people don't even know what they want to do in life. Kudos to her.
I love your content. Rare to find entertaining and relaxing content these days
If you are planning on buying for a group make sure to call ahead and let the bakery know so they can compensate. It's not Dunkin donuts or Tim's where frozen rings are ready to go to the oven. It's all made FRESH which requires hours of work and organization. It really doesn't take much to consider things from other points of view.
Adorable🤗 You're a warm dose of sunshine on a miserably rainy day. I don't think I've giggled this much in years. Thank you and God bless🙏
Keep bakin that bread girl. Do what you love.
2:20 - I work in a liquor store. I once had a customer try to pay for booze with a gift card for the movie theater downtown. I warned him it wasn't going to work, he asked why not, and I replied, "DO WE HAVE A SIGN OUT WITH MOVIE SHOWING TIMES??? You're *_two miles away_* from any building where that will work!"
The person afraid of bread is talking about acrylamide, which occurs in some burnt foods. It has not been shown to increase cancer risk at all.
For the gift card, I would explain it like this:
Do you have a Starbucks gift card?
Yeah.
Would you use it at Costa?
....No. They wouldn't take a gift card for another store.
.... Exactly.
“Don't overwork yourself”
*proceeds to ask for 50 croissants*
The coffee bit, I was expecting them asking for Irish coffee
Retired pastry Chef… and used to make wedding gowns… I can no longer tolerate stupid people.
Such a fun compilation.
If it's not cooked enough, underdone bread could give you e. coli! 😬 But I presume the baker simply sold them very very light crust bread lol
OMG Wow.... That woman who wanted to feed her newborn cake needs to be reported to child protection. For remedial courses on infant nutrition and the consequences of ignoring those lessons at least.
Customers will forever be the strangest creatures
I’m so sorry you have had these very disturbing patrons.
I'm very sorry you must deal with so many mad people.
I've been waiting for my caramel macchiato for 6 hours now.
These are fun lol
You wanna go there.. be THEIR guest 😅
Your voice sound very proper, it have a really cute tone to it. Best wishes to your bakery.
I'd say, how about you ask your doctor and get back to me 😂
Can you also make videos about you baking stuff?
To be fair, if you can make a latte, you can make a macchiato. It’s basically the same thing just with a different ratio.
As our restaurant manager said during our barrista schoolings "we are not charging nearly enough for the coffee to justify having several varieties of milk coffee on the menu. Just offer the guests a cappuchino'
Yes and no. I work in a cafe and we’re constantly having to explain to customers who try to order a macchiato that what we have is a TRADITIONAL macchiato, aka a shot of espresso marked with a small dollop of foam. If they want something like a Starbucks macchiato (basically an upside down latte) then we’ll be more than happy to do that, we just need to make sure that’s what they want. It’s always. Fifty fifty split as to if they actually listen to us or not, and if they don’t it’s always our fault for ‘making it wrong’ 🙄
I've always wanted to try a traditional macchiato, all of my local coffee places just make a latte with two shots and load the damn thing with caramel syrup
After watching some of your videos, now i wanna try out your products :O
Shame I live a bit too far away xd
Ever considered doing a world tour? : D Or at least EU tour? : D
If overdone bread gives you cancer, what does toast do to you?
(sigh)
So as a Bookkeeper I can't understand why people don't get that a Gift Card is money for a specific business, if you didn't pay this business then it won't help.
You should just greet new customers with your intro and then see what they say 😂
That was funny(50 croissants)
Just out of curiosity any nice story that restore your faith in humanity? I use to work retail so I have a hundred bad stories but every now and the there’s a good one and they really make my day.
i do not want eyebrows in my cake
Why does she have so many crazy stories? It seems like she is making them up
Well its good to know its not just the us
What is the name of the bakery? I wish to visit when I go to Ireland next month.
What sort of weird things have people said to you as a fish?
Hi there
Hi
Hi👋
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
NO THERE'S NO WAY THIS CONVERSATION IS REAL WTF--
"Hi Alice" 🥺🥺🥺
"...Hi?"
"R u ok?" 🥺😢❤
"...Yes?"
"You know, might I ask why you became a baker at such a young age?" 😕🥺
"Uh...because I love it."
"You know, you just, you have so much potential that i feel like you're not fulfilling" 😩😮💨
"...Okay."
"You've so much LIFE left to live!" ✨️❤️🥺
"Oookay, can I get you anything?"
"Yeah, just don't overwork yourself. 🥺 By the way, I need 50 croissants for tomorrow" 😌
_MA'AM WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU-_
What is underdone bread? Slightly cooked or raw dough?
Underdone is partially cooked. I think of it as closer to done than raw
Wait - isn‘t it called latte macchiato? It‘s the same thing she is selling, isn‘t it?!
It isn’t, there’s cafe latte (espresso and microfoam), latte macchiato (espresso, milk and foam) and espresso macchiato (espresso and milkfoam). I hope I got it right😅
Can somebody tell me if this girl actually owns a real bakery? This whole time I thought this was based on her real life job but I can't find ANY info on this girl owning a traditional Irish bakery. Is this all just made up??? 😭😭😭
I don’t think so many Karens could visit one bakery
@@Eevee-ln2sv I can't believe how bamboozled I got
The baby one has to be an exaggeration right?
Macchiato literally means spotted, they mean caffè macchiato which is an espresso with a tiny beat of foam in an espresso cup. How can you not make it. Latte it's an Italian word which means literally milk, the one they mistakenly call latte in Ireland that's caffè latte which it's stronger than latte macchiato. Sorry Alice, but this time you're the one who said weird things. Lately most of Irish are using Italian words wrong and most of Italians use English words wrong, the solution would be not mixing the languages, every language have unique fixtures, than ruining them like that it's so sad. Usually u are the smart one, but this time you where on the other side, except for the other weird caffeined drink
Mind if I ask
What would underdone bread even end up like?
Gross and doughy in the middle, I expect.
Deja
Cake for an infant? What is wrong with people?
sooooooo.... burnt toast is cancer. got it. Will no longer feel guilty about throwing away the burnt toast.
It’s not even that accurate. You’d need to be eating borderline charcoal every meal to have any sort of significant risk of cancer. A single minute in the sun is going to be significantly more dangerous than burnt toast.
How is it the baby's birthday if he's only 6 hours old? lol
He was birthed 6 hours ago. It's the day of his birth. His literal birthday.
it's the day of it's birth
Also, in some countries the day of the birth is counted as the first birthday. Not anywhere in Europe though, as far as I know.
It's his literal Birth Day. But I've never heard of anyone having a birthday party for that....
If you can do a cappuccino, you can do a macchiato.
You just make a regular cup of espresso and put a little milk, either cold or hot foam.
It's not hard.
Or you can just go next door, it's not that hard
@@MrNorker77dang it, I wanted to say this!
@@MrNorker77 Or maybe one can get a coffee and baked products.
Think, Mark! Think!
Girl, a macchiato (a.k.a latte macchiato) is just a latte with milk foam on top. If you can make a latte and a cappuccino, you can make a latte macchiato.
Latte macchiato? Are you sure you aren't talking about coffee macchiato?
That's like the opposite, that's caffelatte.
And latte is milk, so a macchiato is milk with milk on top?
Excuse me but this is a bakery - nit Starbucks!!! Why would yiu suggest that the bakery get into specialty coffee???
@@sandybruce9092 Because they serve coffe. Beside "specialty"... It's nothing special.
A baker would know what to do whether the bun is in or out of the oven.
Wow a cooycat to the other content creator. Lame!!!
Lov'n it Alice
