- Handfeeding a Baby Canary | This is Shimmer, she is six week old in this video(August 3 2010) She is on one feeding a day now. She is eating hand feeding formula that I bought at a pet store. She eats by herself and flies around in the bird room. She can't break every seed yet but picks out the softer seeds and she gets greens and apples and rice and corn and peas.
She eats Millet really well.
She is almost all grown up. #LoveofPets

if u want to stimulate a baby bird to open his beek, just move left and right the pip in front of him. u can gently hit his beek with the pip and then move it left and right

I see he is sitting on your hand as a baby, was he still sitting on your hand after he grew up? I want to tame my babies and would like to know that please. they still in the eggs. hope there is something in the eggs, yesterday she laid the 4's egg, maybe today she will lay the 5's.

I have a canary that I’ve hand fed from day one. It is now about 16 days old. Im feeding him still with a syringe. Are you still on baby canary formula along with a little bit of egg mixed in with it. How old do they need to be to start adding new types of foods and how long will it take for me to fully stop hand feeding?
Hi, I handfed my canaries until they stopped accepting it. It took about 8 weeks. I started to offer other foods starting at 4 weeks. I offered spray millet as it's soft for them to eat and then egg food and then tiny pieces or mashed veggies and fruits. It's best to kept offering the hand feeding food until they stop wanting it. Some will wean quicker than others. Some may wean at 5 to 6 weeks.

These videos make it look easy, it isnt nearly so simple. These people have lot of skill and little bragging. Canaries will never be cuddly, but you can get them very tame just by starting early with treats and lots of time outside the cage in safe place where they will come sit on you and eat.

Her colour is a brown and white varigated. There could be another name that I am not aware of. He turned out to be a she, lol
