As a dancer, I totally feel for Hyoyeon. Like when they said it must be like torture and how she said she's used to big, bold movements. Like, it's so difficult to reign yourself in when you want to do more because you know you can do more. Being asked to do little leg kicks and stuff must be no fun for her. I was happy with I Got A Boy's choreography because it was a chance for Hyoyeon to show off, but she never gets any screen time in the MVs...Hyoyeon will forever be my girl bias among all girl groups. She's so beautiful and funny and such an amazing person. Hyoyeon FIGHTING!
I Got A Boy was choreographed by renowned American choreographers Nappytabs, and as you said, closest to her preferred style of locking/popping/waving/boogaloo. Still she is not given much screen time nor moved to the center for solo section. It's already 7 years since debut, she won't have any more chance now.

i just want to say few lines about hyoyeon.
hyoyeon is the reason, why i like SNSD. I love SNSD so much, but what makes me love them more than other bands, is Hyoyeon. I don't know why. Maybe it's because she's pretty, or she dances good or something else. I couldn't discribe why. I just love her. When i read comments like, she's ugly, nobody likes her blablabla, i don't get angry. I get sad. Sad because everybody looks at the things outer and not in the person. I mean, i dont know her personal, but have you seen the 2nd Video of 'OH!' ? Yes, ok. But have you seen Hyoyeon in this video? When i watch that video first time, i was just watchin Hyoyeon. Only her. Why? If you see the Video you will notice why. I have not seen her for a second not smiling. Not be happy in that video. In every moment, every step she does in that video she's smiling. Oh my god, have you seen her smile? I think i have never seen a person with such a beautiful smile. it has touch my heart. it really touches my heart. People say; She's not Perfect, but nobody is perfect i love her as she is. Should i tell you what i think? I think, that she is perfect. She is perfect in the way she smile. In the way she dance. In the way she talk, in the way she swing her hair. DAMN she is P E R F E C T. And thats my opinion. If you dont like her, ok! I also dont like other stars blablabla, but i dont criticize them, because i respect them like everybody. You dont like it, if somebody says your ugly your that that and that. I'm right? You don't like it. But that don't mean, you are the only person who dont like that. Everybody has a heart. Can you imagine, when Hyoyeon read the bad comments. Can YOU imagine how sad she must feel? Maybe she gets tears in her beautiful eyes. You know what?
Nobody notice your tears.
Nobody notice your sadness.
Nobody notice your pain.
But everybody immendiatly notice your Weakness and errors!
I say, stop with all this shit. She is beautiful, and what you will say, is just bullshit. And it wont bring people, who really love Hyoyeon, anything, because we are standing behind her and if somebody talk her agains, we can also go infront of her and protect her. Just remerber my words, haters. Just remeber these words.

I really like Hyoyeon,she is kinda underrated! She is such a skilled dancer and untop of that I kinda like her personality,I think it's well balanced, maybe it's just me. I saw her dancing with my Exo bias Kai and man she rocked that stage. Also,I find Hyoyeon really pretty but in her own little way...Hyo is my bias in Snsd,although I remember it being Yoona but I decided to give others a chance and here I am! Hyoyeon is my bias in Snsd as of currently!

When she first debuted, she was considered the ugliest Kpop female idol on Korean fan sites. That triggered a lot of sympathies till today, where fans defended her to say she is "beautiful". Western fans seem to accept her more than Koreans and Japanese fans.

I think Hyoyeon is as talented in dancing as Taeyeon is in singing. Sadly, Hyoyeon doesn't get as many chances to show off her skills :( On the other hand, looks like SM is investing more in her these days, so that's awesome :D Hyoyeon hwaiting! We'll be with you every step of the way~

Yes hyoyeon might not be the prettiest girl in Asia but that's cus they only like doll faces (yoona) but for Europeans hyoyeons the most beautiful girl because we know what beauty actually is . But beauty isn't everything she's the best dancer ..every boy would fall for her but no one does since they state that she's "ugly" no one focuses on talent in Asia it's all about the face it's all about the weight it's all about the skin for gods sake Asia just look at the frikin talent they have.

I love Hyoyeon! She is not meant for GG. It works well for her. But she can sing/rap and she is an amazing dancer. They don't give her the credit she deserves. when i first entered K-pop i analysed that people understand prettines in such different ways. when i first whatched snsd's videos i was sure that sooyoung was the most beautiful girl in the world and i was sincerly surprised when i found out that Yoona was the visual, cause she isn't really preatty for me. I think that for me - and this can go for many other people who are fans of hyoyeon - the moment I fell in love with hyoyeon was when she danced. The first moment she caught my eye was in their debut mv nearly 10 years ago, when she hadn't "toned down" her dancing enough. Hyoyeon as she is, is why I love her.
Hyoyeon's so amazingly humble :D i can't even imagine how she felt having to hold all that energy back and yet she's still so optimistic and loyal to her members. You're really the best!

I adore Hyoyeon. She is just an amazing person and performer but I get really angry when she's not given a lot of screentime or lines. She is an amazing dancer and I feel so frustrated when she can't show her full potential because SNSD is a girl group and the tendency with girl group dances is to show off their figure, their femininity and their delicateness. It's frustrating and saddening because I know she can do so much more but she's limited.

Pre-debut she was fairly well known as a trainee and one of the more anticipated members of snsd, even before they were called that. You'll notice that Hyo had more significant portions of older songs then newer ones for the group. She's gaining popularity again which is great and I only hope that SM it's going to be smart about it.

Damn, the girl's got skills! That wave was awesome! I wish they had put a few seconds of that as a solo in SNSD choreography every now and then. She would have LOVED to show what she can do and the fans would have loved to see something a little different from SNSD's (excellent) formation choreography.

Now I feel a little sorry for her. It must have been hard for her being forced to do a kind of dancing she really doesn’t like while she is so good at a different style of dance. However, I don’t feel TOO sorry for her, though, because as a member of SNSD she gets to be an international pop star with millions of adoring fans around the world. Only a very few people in the world get to be rich and famous no matter what horrible job they have.
Personally, I don’t particularly enjoy popping and locking, I DO like stunning formation dancing with kick-ass choreography. That is why I have always thought she was overrated as a dancer.
Like they mentioned in the video, doing a rumba walk well is VERY difficult. I've been working on it for years. If she picked it up quickly, than I am more impressed than ever at her dancing ability.
I really don't know how to control myself when it comes to Hyoyeon's dancing, I know there are 8 other members and Sones may feel a little insulted if we say Hyoyeon is wasting her talent now and SNSD's dances are not challenging, but if you see what Hyoyeon can really do you'll really understand!!
