What you could have expected moving to the Leiper's Fork area if you planned to come here between December 10, 2021 and January 6, 2022: Two different tornadoes, one on New Year's Day, and an ice storm that shut off the electricity twice, once for more than 6 hours; and an 8-inch snowfall with no snow plows or salt trucks coming out to this rural area with hills and curves.
Get the best generator you can afford, keep an eye on the news especially during the winter months and hit the grocery if they even mention snow. Be patient stores will be busy. Then just put your feet up and turn your negative into a positive. You’re in one of the nations top sweet spots. I spent nearly 5 decades there back when that exact area was nothing but beautiful farms with black fencing, cows, horses and no traffic at all just paradise. It’s more congested but where isn’t? You’re just sharing paradise now.
My family and I along with my father in law want to relocate to franklin TN from South Florida. We are going blind so i was wondering if there are townhouses for rent in this area?
Hey there! First of all.. welcome! Second.. yes there are townhomes for rent typically! I can send what is on the MLS but there are also rental services out there. Feel free to reach out with any ??s and I can try to help as much as I can!
love your vids! could you email me a chart showing prices from 2013 through today in franklin? we are looking to move just want to see the increases. i heard they were off the charts. thanks!
Great question! So while the median is high there are def lower prices to be had.. and a great idea for another video to highlight those neighborhoods! Also though a lot people are choosing to live in Thompson's Station, Spring Hill, Fairview, Murfreesboro because the cost of housing is a little lower :)
Housing costs have gone through the roof all over the country.. with limited supply it has caused the prices to be the highest we've ever seen all of the country!!
there are tornadoes throughout the state from time to time but it's like anything in any state, you just need to be aware, the likelihood of one hitting your home is small, but preparation and knowledge is key!
There have been more than 20 tornadoes in this area in the last 12 months, including 2 that touched down within eye's view of my house in Leiper's Fork. Williamson County has a high amount of tornadoes. In fact, the large Cool Springs Mall was built on the site of where a major tornado struck on Christmas Eve in 1988. I have seen a funnel cloud come down to the ground to become a tornado just off Hillsboro Pike at Howell Drive in the Berry's Chapel Heights area.
Hi Jennifer. Thank you for the video information. I live in New Jersey and one year away from retiring and considering Florida, Georgia, Texas and now Tennessee. Does Franklin have affordable housing, safe neighborhood, lots of shopping & dining and good hospitals. Thanks
Yes Franklin is on the higher side but you can def find things under that as well.. just takes a great real estate agent to help ;) There are so many great places in and around Nashville though that are under that price point.. happy to answer any questions if you ever need to look! :)
@@christyb7590 Yes. I’m seeing huge amounts of California and NY license plates north of Nashville every single day. I didn’t see my first CA license plate in Tennessee until i was about 15-16 years old (about 10 years ago) and now i see them everyday. Kind of sad, actually.
@@movingtonashvilletn Thank you! I’m a single mom and I want my children to be able to enjoy themselves in TN. We live in Minneola FL and it’s getting too crowded here.
I lived there and loved the place. Family-oriented? Yesterday's Williamson County School Board COVID rant is an example of why I couldn't stay. People screaming and threatening, "We know who you are!!! We'll find you!!!" Keeping children safe should not put parents' safety at risk. As soon as people realized that I wasn't a Trumper, the fangs came out. No thanks.
I think they always show the extreme on media though and I don't find that people in Williamson County are screaming and threatening.. I've never encountered one person that is that way at all. But there are those in every town I'm sure!
@@wisdomt1 Sorry I misunderstood... thought you lived in CA and were invited me there. Decency & respect should flow freely regardless of our location. If I misunderstood, then your comment is precisely an example of the problem. Intolerance has become normalized - especially in the places that proclaim to be God-fearing and righteous. Location should not define decency. Wherever we are, spread kindness. Thanks for the reminder.
Please stop moving to Franklin. Overcrowding is killing everything great about my town. Stay where you are & make your town great. The population of Franklinmhas doubled in 15 years. It is overdeveloped, has traffic issues and housing is unaffordable. Go live somewhere else.
Unfortunately this is true of all towns.. my small town in East Tennessee is not the same as it was either and is def not a small town anymore. I also saw it in Colorado.. I think as time goes on everything gets more populated but the great traits remain an that is why people love it. :)
Poor planning has made for a traffic nightmare. The state has no income tax, but they make up for it in property taxes and sales taxes. I moved from TN to an income tax state. Property taxes went from $8,000 / yr to $700 / year. Sales taxes are half of what they were in TN. The Franklin area is nice - richest county in TN - The real estate market is INSANE! Housing prices are skyrocketing.
Love living in historic downtown, can’t get enough of walking through the downtown area.
I bet!! Historic downtown is the best!!
Thanks for the insight! Think I will be staying here when visiting Nashville!
thanks!!

We as a state are def not prepared for ice and snow.. but it happens so rarely, just sit back and enjoy the days off!

Hi Jennifer, I love your video! I'm learning from Mike Sherrard right now, so I'm looking around at people he works with. Best of luck in 2021!
Love that! I see your channel will check it out!! Feel free to message me if you want to chat!! :)
Thank you for this in depth update on Franklin! Cheers 🥂
Thanks so much!!
Looks like a lovely place. Thank you for the informative video. 😊
thanks so much!!
Moving to Franklin in a few months. Cant wait
You will love it!!
Thank you! This video was very helpful!
I'm so glad! Thanks so much!!
My family are planning to move to TN. We do not know when yet. I heard Franklin TN is near Spring hill TN.
Yes very close!! I have videos on Spring Hill as well! Let me know if you have any questions!!
Wow she is not joking about the rent, there are no rentals for bellow 1,000...that's tough.
for real
I love Franklin. Wish I could afford to live there.
I was wondering if it’s a diverse city? I’m from Long Beach Cali and am conservative but I love the diversity of this city
I think it is completely subjective based on where you are coming from .. you should take a trip out and see what you think!
The diversity is getting pushed out. Just being honest here.

I hear that a lot! :)

i just remember hannah montana the movie
Yes it's exactly like that! 😂 Actually I never watched it 😁

@@movingtonashvilletn we will try and visit franklin this fall or Christmas season.

Why is the median home price so high? Is it because of the local economy?
Supply and demand! So many are moving here and there just aren't enough houses to go around!
The schools are highly rated, which also created more demand.
Where do police officers live in this city? Salary is 50k a year. Thank you!
I can't speak to police officers specifically but if you want help to find a home that fits your budget I'd be happy to help!
Any 55+ homes in franklin?
Do I need a car to live in Franklin?
Most likely yes unless you live fairly close to where you want to be and can bike or walk!
Coming from California, what is the mask mandate in Franklin?
Currently Williamson has no mask mandate.. but many establishments still require them. :)
Tennessee is a conservative state. You wont find too many mandates. Why move from California if you want that type of government?
Don’t move here we don’t want u were full
