  • Hey Crew! In this video, I will be upgrading my stock composite bulkhead with a new Treal 7075 aluminum bulkhead on my Arrma Kraton 6s RC car/truggy! I want to show the shimming necessary compared to stock composite bulkhead. I will then install my input/pinion gear and shim if needed. I am hoping this will increase the durability of my rear differential.

Hey, just a heads-up, if you're into M2C parts, just know that the larger input gear bearing in these prevents the fitment of the M2C suspension block hinge pin system. If using more generic aluminum suspension blocks, you should be fine. Otherwise, these are really strong. They should be much stronger than HR's, and that larger bearing will prolong the life of your ring and pinion diff gears.
As far as the loose bearing - it's okay. Just jam a tiny bead of silicone earplug putty in there before inserting the bearing to keep it from rotating in the bulkhead. Or, some thick gear grease. Don't use loctite. I used thick, grade 3 black open gear grease. I also use it for the ring and pinions. Doesn't sling off nearly as much as even Lucas Red and Tacky. Don't worry about that in and out movement, as the input cup with a shim will pull and lock everything into place, and that will be your gear mesh in there. It will stay that way, as long as the input cup stays in place with red loctite. I use HR input cups with larger than stock set/grub screws. Use a mini torch to loosen after the loctite. You just don't want the outer race of the bearing rotating in there. The grease makes for a tight suction effect because the tolerances are less than you might think.

Oh wow, ok man. All great info, appreciate you chiming in. I definitely have not heard the M2c hinge pin holders would conflict. Thanx again. The treal is holding up awesome. Talk soon

Great and informative video as usual. I have HR diff bulkheads in the rear of my Arrma 6s vehicles but definitely bitter I have to buy the covers for them as well if I want the full experience. I will definitely look into Treal next time. Bash on!

I'm running a Vitavon bulkhead in my Kraton, but I'm interested in trying something else for my Mojave. I still need to find a place to buy a Treal bulkhead as Treal's own webshop doesn't deliver to Finland.

What's up Phil? Those treal look awesome. I am running the hotracing ones and I love them. I put 3 shims in mine and after I got it together it was tight. So I'm running 2 shims and I shimmed the imput. I am running the plastic covers... don't think you need the alumni ones. Great video brother 👍

I just ordered 1 treal bulkhead. I’ve been wanting to upgrade them on my 6s exb. I won a $50 gift card to Amain hobbies so i figured time to buy one. I haven’t had a diff issue at all yet but I’ve maintained them a few times in 2 years. I’ve never shimmed the input gear. What shims would you use for that if needed? Same as what you used in the video? I also upgraded to the aluminum diff cup in the center and when I need to maintain the front and rear I’ll do those too.
