- One of the highlights of 2011 is when HRC hosts their Cleveland Gala Dinner and Auction. The atmosphere is full or promise and discovery as the night gives way to many influential people in our community. So when Chrissie Hynde from the rock group Pretenders took to the stage to be specially honored, we were granted a personal interview with her before it all took place. Special thanks to Stevie Reese Desmond and the Cleveland HRC organization for allowing us this opportunity to reflect back on the importance of straight allies within the LGBT Community.
I'm a meat eater, but I respect Chrissie Hynde's right to be vegan. I adore and admire the tenacity, talent, and fortitude of this remarkable Woman!

love her. I'm a fan of NO ONE except Chrissy Hynde. I'm a meat eater and I'm sure she wouldn't like me for that but I LOVE animals and believe in treating them well and loving them. I'd rather support animal charities than most human charities. what an interesting and funny woman. I just love her.

If meat was given us by God, and God said certain meats were "Good to eat", the I take Hes words and endorsements. Certain animals were made for food. Chickens don't have souls, the lay eys and furnish drumsticks. Chrissie is an animal rights girl, which is good for her, but not everyone.
