  • My experience trying to locate the cabin air filter in a 2000 Toyota Camry. Apparently, the 2000-01 Japanese made Camry did not have a cabin air filter.

Thank You. I kept seeing videos showing how to replace the cabin air filter on a 2001 Japan made Camry but couldn't figure out how to remove the glove compartment door as shown in the videos. Now thanks to you I got my answer ... there just isn't one, voila!

You could’ve made this a 30 second video…. Instead I watched for 3 1/2 minutes to get the answer you could’ve said in ten seconds. Down voted.

From my research, the 2001 Camry is the same. It does not have a cabin air filter.

None of the Camry vehicles had cabin air filters! Whoever told you there was one lied or was a complete idiot! I have had several 1998 and 1999 Japanese models and now have a 2000 American made POS and not one has ever had a CAF! They were not offered in those years and models! NEVER!
SOME of the Lexus ES-300s did have them in the higher end models. They were under the vent cowling. You need to removed the wiper arms and then take the vent cowling off. The CAF will be right under the passenger side front wind screen and behind the firewall. There is a cover over the box that must be removed in order to change it. You then get to put it all back together without breaking some of the plastic parts! The entire process takes about 20 minutes on a good day.

@@vijo8490 All I said was that the only Toyota Camry/ES chassis that did have a cabin air filter was the Lexus. None of the Camry line ever had one. So stop getting your knickers in a bunch! Some people!
¡Algunas personas!

@@vijo8490 What we have here is a failure to communicate.
I stated that no Camry with which I was familiar ever had a cabin air filter until much later than the year 2000. That should be pretty easy to comprehend.
I also stated that the only similar Toyota of which I was aware was the Lexus ES300. Again, so simple a moron should be able to understand it.
At no time was the discussion trying to move over to talking about Lexus automobiles. Therefore, you having a hissy fit over me even mentioning them makes no sense whatsoever.
IF, however, you are aware of any 2000 CAMRY that does have a cabin air filter that was released in the USA then I will stand corrected. If not, then your rant is invalidated and unnecessary.
NOW do we have an understanding? You went off for no justifiable reason. At least, not that I could perceive.
