The bottle one works great if you’re camping. Fill up a gallon jug with water, hang it up next to the outhouses, then you unscrew it a bit to get water for washing your hands. You can also plug the hole with a twig but it isn’t strictly necessary.
The pea bag trick can be done without cutting away part of the bag, hold the top corner pieces then swing the bag around a few times and then tie it together. Swinging it folds the bag over a few times and creates those handles to be able to tie. It may be bc I'm a stoner but that's how I close my bud when it's in a sandwich bag
For the one with the peas...you don't have to cut the bag like that. You can cut it open across the top, and when your finished hold the 2 top corners tight, then spin the bag. It'll close off the bag, then you can tie the 2 pieces you have in your hands together.

The water bottle is for emergency or camping situations. Where I live we're at the top of a large hill and there has to be water pumps to bring the water up to us. If just one of the pumps goes out, there's a power outage that takes them all out, or a hard freeze that freezes the main lines because they are too close to the surface, we don't have running water. You learn to keep gallon jugs in the bathroom for flushing toilets in emergency, gallon jugs of water in the kitchen to be able to do dishes and water bottles next to the sinks for washing hands.
