I have to disagree about the coffee. French Press is the best coffee in QB.
The Farmer’s Market is one of the best and very popular. It goes all year round.
QB does not have any chains. No KFC, McDonald’s etc. (a plus in my opinion). Parksville is 10 km away and they have all that.
We have a great off leash dog park with loads of trails.
I live in downtown QB and everything is very walkable. My doc, dentist, massage therapist and acupuncturist is all a 5-10 minute walk away.

My wife and I are thinking of maybe retiring in Quailcum Beach in a few years, or sooner if we can swing.
We have been to Quailcum Beach a few times.
