Lindie motivates me to plan out my study schedule and learn 5 more languages this year 😬
I started a planner, a food diary, AND a personal journal all because of Lindie!! It’s so exciting even if it seems like a pain in the beginning, now every day I look forward to sitting down and writing and decorating them.
I really suggest giving it a go, even if it’s on scarp paper or in your phone just for a week or so and see how it goes.
Wow, what languages will you learn next year? I keep my fingers crossed for you!
@@santikade Hesitating between picking up Mandarin Chinese or Spanish again, or start learning Japanese using Korean textbooks!
As a graphic designer, I'd love to see more of your design work and goals :)
i for one would love to hear more about your design work! don’t be afraid to expand your content towards that if you’d like to do so, i’m sure many of us viewers would happily tune in :)
Hey Lindie, you probably won't see this comment but I just wanted to say that you are such an inspiration. I decided to try and learn Korean and Mandarin because of your channel and I'm hoping to start German soon. I'm already bilingual (hindi and english) but I needed a little extra motivation to pick up a new language and you gave me that. Thanks xx
Language learning is so addictive and challenging. Good luck with everything
i have been consuming korean media for three years now but was so sure I cant learn a new language (which is funny bc I am a bilingual) but your channel motivated me to learn korean. one month in, and I can already form sentences :D so, thank you for that!
i guess your comment gave me motivation to start learning korean now. i’ve also been consuming korean content for three years now (or four) gut gave up on learning the language cuz i thought i wouldn’t be able to make it (and same as you, i’m a bilingual so this is nonsense). hope i can watch going seventeen w/o subtitles someday 🥲 do u mind me asking what is your native language? & good luck with your studies!!
Omg, me too. I have been consuming Korean media for about 3 years now, and I want to start learning Korean. My problem is I can't choose between Korean and French lmao
@@yesno8785you can do both if you want to! Start with one and build your way up with it until you have a solid base so you aren’t starting both from scratch, I plan on doing that for korean and French as well 😄
@@starswnames watching going seventeen without subs is an actual goal of mine :D no sure, my mother tongue is hindi. but my medium of education was english. so that's how i learned it. yours?
My 2021 language goal is learning spanish!!
I can help you I am a native Spanish teacher and also fluent in English. If you help me with Korean I would be grateful. I need practice with my talking 🙏🏻 we can do exchange
mine is learning german. i’m getting a german book and an audio course and a notebook for christmas so i can start learning it finally
@@LilT9180 i have a different audio course that i’m using which is by a well known publisher in england
Love the 'slower' (in the long run, faster) approach. I'm doing the same with my language-learning journey, and it just keeps the spark alive, so to speak!
My 2021 language learning goals--
1. Reach German B1 level.
2. Learn Russian for a 10 mins conversation.
3. Learn Italian A1 or A2.
4. Learn Spanish A2.
5. start learning a new language ( maybe one of these POLISH, FRENCH, KOREAN , JAPANESE OR CHINESE)
6. Start learning every day.
I like #6! And remember to rest as well. Wishing you all the best in these languages!!
Thank you very much lindie ma'am!!!! It means a lot for me because you are like my role model and motivation for me in language learning!!🤗🤗🤗. Muchas Gracias
The video just started, you said "I don't want language learning to be stressful, I want it to be casual and fun" and automatically I was like "oh absolutely agree with that" '_'👉*push the like button* 🤣
I've been focusing on Japanese this year. It's really slow, but still fun and interesting :)
I've also been keeping up my French by watchimg more content in it, doing translation challenges, etc.
You are an inspiration, thank you :)
Nice! What are you watching in French? And translation challenges sound like such a good idea!
@@LindieBotes have you heard of BALO? He's a French Graphic Design CZcamsr that covers interesting design challenges. I just started watching him recently.
Then have you heard of the channel "Easy Languages?" They have interviewers around the globe and they go out on the street and interview native language speakers about simple topics, and subtitle them in the native language and English (they may have more subtitles available too?). It's been helpful for both French and Japanese :)
Otherwise, when I look something up for work, sometimes I'll look it up in French. I got that idea from you :)
@@LindieBotes my translation challenges are usually this: if i get a song stuck in my head, I'll challenge myself to translate it into french on the spot. Then, I'll look up words that i stumbled on afterwards. This most often happens in the shower 😅
"Alors je dis... Merci pour la musique, les chansons que je chante. Merci pour la joie qu'elle m'apporte!"
Also, ABBA is the most common band 😅
I'm glad to see that some language learners do translation, it is rarely mentioned as a language learning activity on CZcams.
I don't translate myself, I take an existing text in the target language and it's translation.
Yayyy! I’ve missed your videos! Hope you enjoy the new year Lindie!
Thank you, Lindie, for helping with the languages for a long time. Good luck in coming year
You're such a motivation ☺️ love your positivity 🙂
Yes! Would love to see more content about your design + other work. Also love how transparent you are about what worked and didn’t work in 2020.
Thank you for sharing your process! It’s exciting to see someone as talented as you also using the same strategies and journals I do! It makes me feel like maybe I am on the right track! That dreaming and reaching for goals is still something people do no matter how busy life gets!
Right on time! I actually was about to write my goals today! Excited to see what ‘21 holds for you :)
You’re such a huge inspiration to so many people! I hope to focus on Korean and start forming sentences in a few months! Thank you for your videos
Love both the painting and the flags of the world banner in the background.
I feel so energetic and passionate about learning my target languages now! The incoming year is going to be intensive and, hopefully, fruitful as well. Thank you Lindie for all you're doing 👌♥️ You are the best!
Ah, Lindie is such an inspiration
This video came out at the perfect time! I came across your channel earlier this year and it inspired me to start taking Vietnamese lessons! Then while I was planning for my goals next year, I decided to sign up for Japanese classes since I'm feeling comfortable with my level in Vietnamese. I wasn't sure how to balance learning both, so I was looking through your channel again when this video published. Thank you for sharing your plans and I'm looking forward to your quarterly check-in!
This video help me to not give in chinese, ty Lindie.
@@mareehmareeh wow. Thanks. That makes me happy. Are you learning languages too?
@@AfroLinguo yea! im learning spanish, but wanna do japanese too if i can handle both at the same time
@@mareehmareeh I definitely wanna learn Japanese too. Do you watch anime? Or are you just a fan of Japanese culture in general
Great to hear about your goals for next year and I think the idea of taking it easy on yourself and just enjoying the process is so important. A real lesson I learnt this year. Thanks for sharing 🙌🏻
It’s so great you have all these great goals and tips learning languages! I’m trilingual in Korean🇰🇷 Mandarin🇨🇳and English🇺🇸! I learned Japanese for one year but forgot most of it!
I love the 3 month chunking of goals. It makes much more sense then planning out the whole year~ way to go Lindieee !! 😃
Thank you so much! This motivates me to keep up with my languages and be productive!
I love watching your videos.
It's not just that they're motivating and informative. I also find them aesthetically pleasing, with your notes and planners and everything related to your language studies.
Keep up the amazing work!!
Having plans for a 3-month-period sounds really great! Definitely will try setting my goals like this. Btw I'm excited to see your process on 2021 as well, keep up the great work!
I'd love to hear about your designing!! And you totally inspired me on how you decided to go easy on yourself and not put pressure so language learning isn't stressful but fun and simple!💛💐
Don't give up Spanish. You have to use it so that you don't lose your progress.
Oh I'm not! I mentioned it as one of the languages I'm still continuing with. I really enjoy Spanish!
@@LindieBotes Yes. I commented right at the moment you mention the first two (Tagalog and the other one). Then you explained about the other languages. :D
Hi, lindie. If you already have some progress in spanish then learning tagalog will be a lot more easy for you. Well at least in terms of vocabulary. You see, most of our vocab words were borrowed from spanish. Good luck! Love from Philippines. If you need some help in learning tagalog, i am just one message away. Btw, im also learning spanish and german concurrently.
This is awesome tips especially . Now I can learn and not make the mistakes you did last year. Lindie ありがと❤️💕❤️
I'm studying Japanese about uni, and you've always kept me motivated, especially after your notion video! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
My main focus is Polish (all of my relatives in Poland only speak Polish). But, I'm also trying to learn Filipino (I have some family in the Philippines), Korean and Chinese.
Nice collection!! What are you using for Tagalog? My resources are limited but I think I've found some nice books and apps that help. I'll be updating my resources page for Tagalog soon 🤓
@@LindieBotes I've only learned a few words in Filipino on Drops and from some native speakers on HelloTalk and my library has an app with some ebooks by Tuttle for Filipino.
Here are some resources I know of for Filipino:
- Drops
- Glossika (Website)
- FilipinoPod101 (CZcams and website)
- Ling app
- Nemo app
- L-lingo
- Bluebird
- learningtagalog (.com)
- Mondly
- uTalk
- Flash Academy

- LangFocus (he made some videos about Filipino)
- Netflix has some Filipino movies and series

There is a language app I use on my iPhone, it's called "Falou", it doesn't have Filipino but it has English, French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, German, Russian, Portuguese, Turkish, Dutch, Polish and Swedish. It teaches through reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
I can see how excited you are for the next year and I'm too ! See taking things slowly and chill will be much better to build habits and stick to them as for me I keep watching polyglots, language learners and they're studying hours and hours in a day but guess what I'm completely chilling 'cause I'mma student and I have so many things and classes to take which means that I'm setting my priorities first and I'm happy with the progress that I've made! Yes it could be slow but I'm sure that I'm keeping myself mentally healthy and enjoying it ✨
I enjoyed your video as usual and good luck with your goals hope that we see you again next year saying that you achieved them all 😊 best wishes 🌹
You are a great inspiration, Lindie! Goodluck on your journey with Tagalog. I'm just too happy that you are learning our language. 💓 Godbless you always!
Loved this video! Super motivational as usual 😊Would definitely be interested in hearing about your life outside of language learning, like your career in design. Have a good Christmas Lindie! ❤️
YES TALK ABOUT DESIGN! I ALWAYS WANTED YOU TO DO THAT, ITS MY CAREER AS WELL
Your approach to language learning is so inspiring and it also changed my way of thinking about it so that the only thing I can say now is big big THANK YOU for what you're doing here and on Instagram ^^ Also, I wish you all the best in 2021! Much energy, motivation and happiness!
Love to see your goals! I will keep " maintaining what I know in German and French" ,focus a lot on Russian and also Chinese. These are my main goals for 2021 ❤️❤️
Awww, such a lovely video! Thank you so much for giving me so many ideas about how to structure my language learning year. Habit stacking sounds like a terrific idea, I'm so glad I watched this video, Lindy, thank you! 🤩 I've been having a hard time making learning Korean a part of my daily life and starting German because of work, but habit stacking is definitely worth a try and actually sounds fun 🌝
Happy holidays! ✌🏻💚 You've been a huge help for me in terms of motivation mostly so thank you ♡ I hope everything goes smoothly in your language learning journey and I'm looking forward to your future videos in the new year!~
I love videos like these because I am super motivated in learning languages but sometimes it gets overwhelming and I need to organize a but more and maybe make a plan. So thank you! 😊
Thanks for this video! I'm making my own plan for 2021 and currently getting inspiration from other language learners as I do it. My plan of attack will be different to this, but it was extremely helpful to get a glimpse into your plan!

idk if that would help but it's my 7th year learning korean and i'm between B1-B2. i have never studied really hard korean, i tried to enjoy and not bore myself. even if my progress is so little, i still know that i'm better than myself from one month ago. so don't give up just because you feel like you are so back behind! language learning is a lifetime journney and you should enjoy every little steps you take! i'm sure you can do it!
Thank you for being such a motivational person, couldn’t be more excited to see your content in the coming year! 🎆 Since I started watching you, I’ve gone from knowing 0 Japanese and Chinese to N3/N4 and HSK1 and it’s so awesome to come back here every now and then and feel like „home“ (coming back to the place that motivated me to start^^). Happy New year and good luck with studying Japanese and Chinese.( I am studying korean 😊)
Lindie I love your plans for 2021 and taking it easier and more flexible. This is your life, your decisions, your plans. You can do it in your own pace and if you change your mind, then that's ok too. Life has so much to offer and time runs by so fast. We don't have to stick to plans we have made... we are always free to adapt. Sending love and all the best to you and your loved ones. Merry Christmas and have a wonderful rest of the year. ❤️
I'm so happy. You're now focusing on learning Tagalog. Such an inspiration. I really love you, ate Lindie! ❤️❤️❤️

I admire your courage for learning hungarian, it is a pretty hard language. Good luck with your language goals, and have a happy new year!
This year I'm focusing on Chinese and English (my majors) and Korean! Thank you Lindie, you're probably one of the biggest motivations!

This is so interesting, never thought of language stacking! Also love how realistic it is :) I'm gonna sit down and plan out my Chinese studying soon hehe (also yesss would love to see your design content!)
Thank you for these videos and ideas for organization. I'm currently working on my Korean (I live in Korea as a teacher) and have just felt so unmotivated the last few months, but watching your organization plan has really inspired more to better organize my studies for the new year, as well as get back to the other languages I was studying before I moved here. Thank you again.
Hi Lindie. So happy you have the Easy Tagalog book. I got it when I first came to the Philippines many years ago. It really explained grammatical questions I have had over the years. I'm excited to see your progress. All the best to you. Bud
I absolutely adore votre tenue! Let me just say, that I would LOVE to see any videos growing other aspects of your life, including design!
Hi Lindie !
Thank you so much for this video. I'm learning Korean, but it's been difficult for me to study last months because of work, other hobbies, which took too much time for my ideal learning plans. But thanks to you I realised that tracing everything is not always good, and I decided to learn a little every day, at my pace.
Thank you for all your advice ♡
You’re encouraging me to study and I’m really grateful for that because I really want to come back learning Norwegian, continuing Modern Greek and starting Japanese, but I’ve been struggling with my motivation. Your videos made me think and understand that it’s completely ok if I don’t study a determined number of hours every day or week and thanks to that I’ve already started to set my language plans for 2021. Thank you ♡︎
I LOOK FORWARD TO THIS VIDEO EVERY YEAR!!!!!!!
You motivated me a lot! Thanks you I'm focused right now studying Spanish and I returned to study my English that is so rusty righ now. For the next year I decided to follow your schedule to study and I thinking it's gonna be a such great thing to do! Kisses from Brazil!
The first time I came here (discovered your channel), I just finished learning Japanese kana. That was around 2018(?) It’s gonna be 2021 soon, and I am already preparing for N3 JLPT and picking up German from my rusty B1 ✨✨ You’re a great inspiration, Lindie! Let us all do great and achieve our goals for 2021!!👊🏻👊🏻 2021年も頑張りましょうね!!
All the best, Lindie!
Thanks to you I’ve been planning out my schedule to really learn at least 3 languages in 2021 🙌🏻✨
Thank you for this video! It really motivates me to really learn languages starting next year or generally being more motivated to study for university. I’d love to see videos about design. Your daily life or even more specific videos. I’m really interested in ui/ux design and what’s it about and how a project progresses step by step.

Absolutely, Lindie. We love to see it if you share some UI/UX designs tips, trends, or anything!
Language-learning should not be a chore, or something that stresses us out but rather, a hobby where we find it very comfortable and relaxing to do.
(I think I'm gonna go for monthly goals rather than quarterly, for I don't know what 2021 will bring to me.) Thank you!
I really appreciate your attitude! You're committed to studying hard, but have decided not to put undue pressure on yourself. I needed to hear this--I've been studying Chinese for a long time, and tend to get stressed and disappointed about my progress.
Watching you for quite some time back and I really can't believe Tagalog would be one of ur focus. not in a bad way just really genuinely and pleasingly surprised. I don't think many people are taking Tagalog seriously. Good luck with your Tagalog! Especially in Hungarian as well
I admire your ambition to learn/maintain all those languages! This year, I hope to become way more disciplined in my language learning!
loved the video! i'm doing irish and basque as a beginner, along with japanese (N2/N1) and portuguese (idk what my plan even is at this point). i feel very motivated everytime i watch your language videos hehe

Bring it on!! I want to see your creative side.
To be honest, your last year's language plan felt like such an difficult task to maintain that I couldn't really visualize it for me. But this one is amazing, how you're approaching languages as a fun ride is really relatable for me! I suck so much at sticking to a plan but next year I want to take the JLPT N1 so I really need to do even a little bit of planing and this video helped me so much! I love your videos and I hope your Tagalog and Hungarian journey be extremely successful. Love from Brasil 🇧🇷❤️
"Why am I in a hurry to learn languages?" I think that is so inspiring. I feel like a lot of language learners, I included, are tryna learn languages as fast as possible like there is no tomorrow. I think taking it slow, will help us learn the languages better and also have more time to rest.
