    ⚠️Please Note: That we have installed the heat sink over the first PCI thus covering it, you can always maneuver the heat sink as you wish (by not covering slots), we have intentionally done so because we don't need the first PCI slot and we need the airflow of the fans to be released from the opening (TOP) of the case that's why we installed the heat sink the other way around (i am aware some of you will disagree with this installation) it's for our airflow circulation and it works flawlessly for us, our desktop is located in a closed closet that has another outer ventilation (HEAT HOOD SUCTION) system to suck our hot air coming from the heat sink through the TOP OPENING OF THE desktop case and an inner airflow to the closet connected to the desktop case itself to create circulation and maintain a cool temperature. Hello @Ryan! Thanks 🙏 for mentioning this and yes absolutely the spacers are needed & we did not forget them, but for this type of motherboard and how we installed the mount bars on the middle opening if you look closely, the curved mounting bars sits firmly on the metal screw thread side without the need of the spacers and the screw can be tightened to the full on the screw thread without any problem. Also, we must mention that when we tried to put the spacers on this particular motherboard the screw that holds the mounting bars down would not screw to the full extent. We did try the spacers on other motherboards both AMD & INTEL models with the spacers it was fine, so you may encounter motherboards like this one that gives you a hard time with the spacers but can work fully without the need of installing them.

    Thanks for the tutorial. I've heard, that this cooler can create clearance problems for the RAM slots beneath it. Noctua actually suggests (in the general description) to move the front fan upwards in such a situation - provided the case size allows it. How much clearance is there for the RAM modules mounted beneath the cooler? - and exactly what RAM did you install ? It would be great, if you could add to the tutorial, showing how to offset the fan.

    • @Neanderthal75
      @Neanderthal75 Před 4 lety

      I have the NZXT 510 case and couldn't install the 2nd fan. The fan sticks out too much on the top, because of the RAM underneath and I can't close the case. And also, I got an AMD system and the heatsink fans supposed to blow toward the rear of the case. I can only recommend this cooler for people with a full tower and/or plenty of depth and space inside. If the motherboard is already connected inside the case and don't want to remove it from the tray, then it can be a real pain to connect the fan cables to the motherboard.

    • @peterfranck2486
      @peterfranck2486 Před 4 lety

      I've just finished my (first ever) build, and I did it with the Noctua D15. I have the Fractal Design Define R6 case, which has a cooler clearance of 18,5 cm. So I was able to offset the outside fan to allow room for the RAM.

    • @Neanderthal75
      @Neanderthal75 Před 4 lety

      I'm not sure, but for AMD boards, the only option is to mount it horizontally. And it can be an issue to mount the 2nd fan on it, due to the RAM slots. I ended up putting my water cooling radiator back in and keeping this cooler for another build maybe. It's just freakin huge.

      It comes with a convert kit for most motherboards either for intel or amd, you can insert the rams first then install the heatsink by the way installing it needs patience also you do not need to block any slots as i did I intentionally blocked a slot but you do not need to block anything but regarding your rams just install the rams first then install the heatsink after i hope this helps

      Try using another screw driver than the one it came with use a screw driver with a grip and do not screw all the way when you screw first let the screw grip and then screw the second one keep going back and forth between them till they tighten (do not apply too much pressure) but at the same time it does need elbow grease but we dont need to break the motherboard be very careful, hope this helps

    • @aprole42
      @aprole42 Před 4 lety +2

      I just did a bunch of research on this and ended up ordering the Phanteks pro M series. I tried the nzxt h510 but it wouldn't fit with both fans attached due to the one raised fan above the RAM. I'd recommend a case that has more than 165 mm of clearance, since the nzxt that I tried had 165 and that wasn't enough. The Noctua site actually has a compatibility page that shows which cases will work. but it says that 165 m m is enough, which is not, unless you're using some very low profile ram that doesn't require raising the second fan, which I'm not sure even exists.
      So to answer your question, not every mid tower could house this, you have to check if it is wide enough. Unless you're okay with leaving the case open.

    • @USComputerSolutions
      @USComputerSolutions  Před 3 lety

      Yes great question! I flipped it on purpose, i explained it in the description, reason why the desktop was inside a closed cabinet in that cabinet was venting vacuum system like a hood that sucked hot air from top of the case rather than behind meaning that the airflow that needed to escape was from top of the computer case thats why i positioned it to vent out from top rather than behind , worked like a charm, also now we moved out office to another location and re flipped the heatsink to normal, you can check my other videos.

      I agree, but we have tested the card to see any difference using benchmark and really there was no difference for this “spastic card”, maybe a higher performance one would but for this nothing, it was smooth and good fps, but this computer is not for gaming and it is in a cabinet that we build for it that had to be set up this way and it has been working wonderful, I must mention the airflow of the computer is awesome the temperature is great so you can choose how you want the airflow direction to be with those fans by changing the heatsink direction if you need the first Slot and not cover it is really your choice, but if we had setup the heat sink fans the other angle (by not covering the slot) in our cabinet setup we wont have a good airflow at all meaning the heat wont exit from above it will actually stay in the computer causing it to over heat. So again the way how we setup the heatsink works best for our airflow for where we have the computer setup in our office.
