    My grandpa said, "God gives some people a bouquet of flowers in their yard for their birthday; but he must've thought your birthday was a big event...he gave you a hurricane!" It was my 11th birthday.

    Given the recent Houston storm that shattered windows downtown, you must wonder what, if anything, was changed with the city's building codes. Just another example of "experts" being anything but. I was living in the Montrose area when Alicia's eye passed over.

    I was here for Alicia people back then accepted it for what it was I don’t remember near as much whining and complaining about no power or water as they did for beryl
