  • Our Labor Day weekend outlook from the Jersey Shore kicks off with exciting drone footage somewhere off the beach with "hardtails" attacking baits along the ocean surface. These "Angry Fish" images support the latest reports we're getting as we head into this final weekend of August, "phenomenal" albie action, one of the very best bonito bites ever and the Spanish mackerel armada on the move. After this week's CKC and Dream Boat update (5:45) we'll take you for a tour of the September edition of The Fisherman Magazine out in newsstands, tackle shops and subscriber mailboxes this week. On the lookout for stripers (11:00) in the Garden State this week along with fluke, spot and back bay cobia, with a look at the midweek NOAA Marine Weather (13:45) for a shot at the edge this weekend. Our third and final "Q&A" installment of Open Boat with Jenni this week (15:45), a freshwater rundown from the Jersey Coast out to the Pocono Mountains (24:45) and we wrap up this final weekly video fishing forecast for August (27:25) with teen-sized sheepshead caught, tagged and released somewhere in the South Jersey back country waters this week; those and the crab-loving tautog, all on tap this holiday weekend in the New Jersey, Delaware Bay region.

My relatively new 000-15M has become my "go to" diversion while sitting at the desk! Thanks for noticing Rick, hope you're well. -JH

Helm Master for those who haven't figured out how to run a single outboard?

Jenni - Thank you for answering my question. This Fall one of my goals is to improve with the bucktail and your response is very helpful and a great starting point.
I do have another question but it’s is probably more for Jim. On the Open Boat episode from 2 weeks ago. Jenni held up a number of books, one of which was Fishing for Winter Flounder by William A. Muller. This book is part of The Fisherman Library series of books and has the same logo as the magazine so I’m assuming it originates with you guys.

I want to read all these books (Fishing for Bluefish by Al Ristori was great) but I understand that this series is out of print and some of the books are difficult or even impossible to find (Winter Flounder - Used $52.78 on Amazon. Original price was $9.95).

So I'm wondering does The Fisherman by any chance have these in an archive somewhere that maybe can be [easily] pdf’d and put in with the back issues?
Thanks again - big fan of the magazine and CZcams channel

Thanks John. There are a "few" issues of The Fisherman Library left in some bins and barrels but I've not see the Winter Flounder book anywhere in a long, long time. Best advice I can give is to keep checking at eBay (cheapest of that book today is $45.98) or coastal antique shops which often carry old books. -JH
